Going on the course was always so intimidating for her so she just did lessons with the golf pro there Blake Smith and went to the range. She finally said she wanted to go and then there happened to be the player assistant from hell. We teed off at 4:20. We were hounded on every hole up to the 6th to play faster or best ball. I have played so many rounds in my life and thought we were playing super fast. I looked at the clock and it was 5:30. We had played 6 holes in 1:10. Pretty fast! The lady just saw she was hitting it 125 yards and assumed we were slow and so she needed to constantly complain. We were on the 9th hole and the new player assistant had just taken his shift, Danny. He looked down at his clipboard and noticed the time we were at and said you're on an awesome pace. I then said you should tell the other lady that because she was so constant on us that she made my wife cry on hole 3 because she didn't know any different! Danny did encourage her and make her feel better but it's terrible that I've tried so hard to push my wife to play and there are terrible employees out there like this. Finished 9 holes in 2:10

Anchorage golf course 6/12/14…read more I feel the course is in great shape considering the short season Alaska has for getting a course to a playable condition. The greens will improve with time, but they are certainly playable. I've seen a lot worse in the lower 48. The staff has obviously taken great measures to get the course in shape. Excellent fairways and rough. Extremely enjoyable pace of play. Professional and courteous staff. If I make it back before summer ends, this will be top of my list to play again.

There are two levels for a driving range and over the weekend it was busy but manageable. Unfortunately, they charge a lot for a large crate of balls at the driving range and I wish that they would lower their prices for Alaska residents at least but all in all, it's definitely worth it. The driving range was great to be able to hit your drivers on a golf course with friends. The virtual golf course technology is old and it took us a while to figure out how to add multiple players but at the end of the day it's great to be able to work on your swing and use your own drivers so it was great and at this time $35 an hour.

Then I…read morerealized it was listed simply as "Russian Jack Springs", which makes it sound like a quaint Canadian hot springs in the mountains...(I've since submitted an edit, it should show up with "park" in the title now) It's not that. It is a shockingly great park. It's in an area of town where you wouldn't expect to find a park, and it's quite massive. It's got green houses you can tour, a hill for sledding, trails for hiking/running, and even a GOLF COURSE and CLUBHOUSE. Is it a bougie golf course and clubhouse? Of course not. But it's cheap and solid. Golf for the people! I got some BBQ from Smokehouse which is less than a mile away, ate in the park, then went for a short walk on the trails to burn off that brisket, and I was still back to work in time. Don't take Anchorage living for granted! I hope to come back in the winter to get on that sledding hill!

Is there an Alaskan Snow Snake? (see pic)…read more After the fresh snow, there are so many cool things to gander upon. And even though there is a fresh powder, the tracks are still visible and ready to be skied. I can only speak on the cross country ski trails here, but I've been super impressed with them. There is also a sledding hill, skate skiing area and a lodge style building that I've never seen open. I understand there are also community greenhouses on the property that you can check out. After three trips here and over two hours spent, I have yet to see the entire park. So much to explore, great for beginners, and well lit. For being so close to a major road, I'm amazed at how quiet and serene this place is. There's a private parking lot, off Lidia Selkregg Lane. I've never had a problem finding a spot. I think parking is free because I didn't see any fee stations.

We came to play mini golf!…read more I was actually surprised how empty it was for a Friday night. Nobody was playing any games and there were three groups total in the mini golf area. I think we spent maybe 30 minutes playing the 18 holes with two people. I like the theming of the golf areas, one underwater and one arctic. The holes were kind of simple, but a few had cool things sprinkled in. Maybe 4 total had something cool. It was $9 for 18 holes, each person. No 3D glasses were offered but don't really need them.

All of the kids were miserable cause they were freezing we all had to wear our full winter gear inside. It's so dark in the "party room". 9/10 of the arcade games did not work. Definitely not worth the money. $200 to rent the "room" and then $20 per person/ kid on top of that to golf. It was just pathetic to be completely honest. They are many other places to host bday part events that are well worth the money and price. I wouldn't recommend this or do it again.

She has consistently been named…read morethe Top 50 teachers in golf in the country and she splits her time between Alaska and Arizona! We're lucky to have this gem of a Golf Pro! A few years back I got Leila our daughter getting lessons from Peggy. Life got busy and we stopped but we just had a lesson yesterday. Leila and I together. I have been a golfer since I was a kid. I played 36-45 holes a day when I was 15 years old. My brother would drop me off in the morning and pick me up after work. I had surgery on my shoulder and hadn't picked up a club in 4 years, kind of scared to, but So she has a 2 person lesson for $150/hour. Check out her website PeggyGolf.com to see her appointment availability. So I said you know what, with the surgery and all maybe I should get her to coach me. She started working on us both. She takes a video on her iPad several times and shows side by side problems and then works on fixing them. She fixed my slice and re-taught me a new grip. I need to practice what I learned and Leila picked up pretty much where she left off. I improved my game in just one lesson. What will I be able to do in 10 lessons? Golf is like riding a bike once you learn the right way you never forget. We'll practice and in another couple weeks get another lesson. My set up is better, I kept my head too low, my right hand wasn't rotating over as the club met the ball (meaning the face of the club was open when I hit the ball) and there it was, the slice to the right which is 85% of all golfers. She figures you out quick and then making the changes, you improve. Get a few lessons with her! You won't want to throw your clubs in the lake and you'll save money on lost balls! Start hitting it straight with Peggy!

Unfortunately they didn't have any used in my size, but I was able to get a pair of new ones within the budget I set in my kind. We worked with a salesman named Eric. He was beyond friendly and really knowledgeable on the sport. He showed me four different type of boots and the pros and cons of each.
