They serve local roasted beans from Muskoka Roastery Coffee Company and I ordered a French press of hazelnut vanilla coffee which hit the spot. They had several grain-free (and gluten free) options for sweets and I ordered a delicious brownie which was perfectly vanilla-heavy and fudge-like and not too sugary. All freshly baked too! Hubs ordered a butter tart which was generous and flaky while my toddler enjoyed a trail mix style cookie. She certainly enjoyed it and I hope you will too! There is a small market-style grocery attached which has very fresh produce.

Ended up grabbing a few bags of chips, along with other snack items. I also grabbed an incredible freshly baked croissant from the bakery next door, so good!! Could have spent a lot more time in here browsing/drooling but alas the lake (and my trunk full of booze!) were calling! Until next time!

I stayed in the car, dialed the number, made some confirmations, and waited for the staff to bring it out. I waited about 10 minutes. The employee who helped me load the trunk was friendly and helpful. Our car was PACKED as we were traveling to a cottage with all of our stuff for 5 days. He was nice enough to tie the bags for me so the items didn't go everywhere. We went back to the bakery to pick up a cake for our friends birthday. There was no one at the counter until an employee came out of the freezer. We asked him to write 'happy birthday Allie' on a cake we chose and he said 'I'll try'. Which should have been a red flag right off the bat. The photo attached to this review will speak for itself with how this went..... With wanting to just get out of the store and not make a big deal, we packed up the cake and took it home. It's a hilarious photo and I laugh every time I look at it LOL. It makes for a great story but I feel other people may have been very upset if they took this home for someones birthday.

Although it does never seem to be stocked so well.. Maybe because its in the middle of nowhere are it serves alot of people? They have excellent steaks here in the summer, which taste delicious on the barbecue. Also there is a wine rack located in this store which is handy if you want to pick up a bottle of wine without having to go to the LCBO.

I spotted this new supermarket as I made a left turn from Highway 27 onto Finch Avenue West. I was…read moreheading to Wok of Asia to have some dinner. I needed to pick up a few grocery items, so dropping by Food World Supermarket afterwards was perfect. This building used to Rose Garden Banquet and Convention. I'm guessing that due to the pandemic, this business suffered and shut down. There is plenty of parking in front and around this supermarket. I backed into a spot and walked in. The doors automatically open, which is wonderful. This supermarket is located across from Burger King. I often frequent it when I crave a flame-broiled burger. Both are in the same plaza as Wok of Asia. It's clean and cheerful when you first walk in. You see cases of pop and sparking water. The produce section then greets you. I needed avocados and celery. Prices are either comparable to what you see at grocery stores like No Frills, but the quality is better. Both produce items that I grabbed were fresh and in great condition. This grocery store carries halal items. It features a lot of South Asian products, such as Parle-G and paratha. You also see ramen and Ribena, both of which made me love shopping at this store even more. I saw everything from custard to paneer. It does sell corned beef in cans and rose water in glass bottles. Cool! The meat section is impressive. It's huge with every cut of meat that you can possibly think of. You can get food to go. There's a stall within the supermarket where you can get pizza, shawarma, and more. I paid for my produce. The woman at the checkout was extremely pleasant and nice. I paid with my debit card. This store gives you a plastic bag. I thanked her and headed to the exit. Just before you exit, there's a stall that sells desserts, ice cream, drinks, and more. I asked the woman behind the counter whether their drinks have added sugar. They don't. The store goes with the natural sweetness of their fruit or veggies. I wanted to get the sugar cane and coconut hydrating beverage. She had run out of coconut, so I got a large sugar cane drink. As she made my drink, I looked at the desserts display. There were individual portions of chocolate mousse cake and sponge cakes. You can also get milkshakes, ice cream, and more. She asked whether I wanted ice in my sugar cane drink. I said as much as the cup could fit the ice. It was perfect on a hot day. I asked the nice woman how long this supermarket has been open for. It opened on May 18th. I paid with my debit card. Done! I thanked the woman and left with my groceries and drink. The sugarcane was indeed the real deal. It was naturally sweet and yummy. I was happy with my drink. It was nice consuming it as I drove home. Whenever I was in the area to grab some dinner, there was never a supermarket close by to get a few grocery items. It's definitely more convenient now thanks to this Food World. (174)

Ever since my husband and I had our son we have ordered his custom birthday cakes from the Lakeshore Metro Bakery, and they have never disappointed. Theresa the Head Decorator is fabulous, she listens to our requests and lets us know what is in her capabilities. We always make sure to bring our own toys or specific candies for the cake to make our orders possible and easier on the bakery, but they really knock it out of the park on flavours, quality, and making our vision come to reality. Thank you so much to everyone at the Metro and Metro Bakery that helps us makes our sons birthdays spectacular!

And the customer service lady snapped on me and yelled at me because I hadn't put them in water right away. Very loudly staring me down saying "Oh you thinks it funny huh?!" and "Now they're probably gonna die!", as I stand there not laughing one bit, maybe a smile, but that's my usual self, I always smile. Like I'm sorry lady. I was just trying to do something nice for my grandmas birthday by getting her flowers and I get ripped a new one in front of the whole store for not putting them in water. And I know I'm no flower expert or anything, but I kept them in a cold cooler bag pretty much the whole time, and they looked exactly the same as I bought them 3 hours earlier. I've honestly never had such an awkward experience in a grocery store in my entire life. I don't know if the lady was just having a bad night or whatever, but it was completely unnecessary/unacceptable behaviour. Ruined my night if I'm being honest.
