We have been customers of Lyle for several years. He's wonderful to work with. We have several…read morepieces of his outdoor Poly style furniture, some are approaching 10 years old and they look like new. We do not bring the furniture inside during the winter and, with a little spring cleaning, everything looks as good as new. Lyle uses great quality materials than have not shown any sign of rust, fading, or deterioration. This fall we decided to replace our twenty-year-old wood patio dining table with some of Lyle's furniture, he was very accommodating when we asked for a few alterations. Additionally, the old furniture matches the new, there's been no noticeable fading after close to ten years. We couldn't be happier with the products and service we've received from Lyle and B & L Woodcrafts. We tell our friends to be sure to check out what Lyle has before buying from anyone else. I think the Shipshewana Flea Market is great if it's not a long trip to get there, but there is…read morelittle there that one couldn't get locally at a thrift store or a store with local makers. There are a lot of new, cheap items instead of rows and rows of vintage/antique items. It is important to note that the pea gravel in the market makes it difficult for mobility devices such a wheeled walkers or wheelchairs. The dust produced also makes one feel dirty to a point, due to the dust produced and touching items covered in the dust.

Parking is $5 and is well organized and we got a space right near the entrance. This proved to be important because of the many trips to the car with my brides newly bought "treasures". There is a lot of "stuff" here.... pots, pans, clothing, antiques, food and more. Many of the booths are Amish owned. We visited a booth owned by the loveliest Amish couple that sold hanging wind chimes. They were so helpful that we couldn't help ourselves from making a purchase. On most of the items we think were purchased at a fair price. In retrospect it wasn't about scoring and getting a bargain, it was for a truly unique experience.

They had 4 auctioneers going at the same time, very close together, moving rapidly down the aisles of tables. Most of the participants seemed like seasoned auction veterans. We got there well after the auctio had started & it wasn't clear where to go or that you even had to go into the office to register & get a number. The few things that I might have been interested in bidding on, went for more than I expected but it was fun & chaotic for an hour.
