A live on a property which borders township parkland that has not been improved because it is flood…read moreplain. It is wooded and during a recent soaking rain a giant Sycamore tree fell into an oak tree and came to rest balanced on the Oak hovering over the back yards of my neighbor and mine. The head of the township's public works came out to inspect and called Jose's Tree Service to remove the trees. Jose's came immediately and parked their fleet of trucks in front of our homes. There was about a 150 yard walk from the road to the worksite through my yard. Since the parkland was wooded the town manager instructed Jose's foreman to drag the wood off of our properties and to leave it on the park. A very talented climber made his way as far out on the limbs as he could go while others threw ropes around the limbs to control the fall as he cut them. They dropped the limbs and worked back to the truck using their long and powerful saws to make short work of it. I did not understand why they decided to back a chipper over the curb on to my lawn and drag the limbs up to it when they could have left them on the nearby parkland. When they left there were ruts in the lawn almost a foot deep and my son's sailboat was left where they moved it to make it easier to get past with the limbs. It didn't kill me to move the sailboat back or to get a wheelbarrow full of soil and fill the ruts but all contractors should know to leave people's places as you found them and none of it was necessary if they would have done as instructed. While Jose's Tree Service and Landscaping where fast to respond and quick to cut up the tree I would not recommend them. Chipping limbs when not necessary and driving a chipper on someone's lawn when it would work just as well parked on the street is just stupid. Not returning conditions to the way you found them is a very amateur mistake. Many better tree services are available.
