I don't usually write reviews, but the outstanding care and kindness I received from everyone on the staff deserve to be recognized. From the day I arrived, every single person treated me with compassion, respect, and genuine concern for my well-being. During my entire stay, I never encountered a single employee with a bad attitude. That alone says a great deal about the culture of this facility. There is a physician and a nurse practitioner who do rounds every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Both of them were never in a rush to listen to my concerns and issues with my recovery- and I had quite a few in the beginning. They even came to the PT area to make sure nobody was left out. That was truly amazing to me! The nursing staff provided excellent care and always made me feel safe and well looked after. Whenever I rang the bell in the painful stages of my recovery, someone showed up in a very timely fashion. Whenever they didn't, I knew it was because they were busy taking care of someone else, not because they didn't care. The physical therapy team was encouraging, knowledgeable, and truly invested in helping me recover and regain my strength. The housekeeping staff kept my private room spotless and comfortable, making it feel like a home rather than a medical facility. The kitchen staff went above and beyond to make sure I had meals I enjoyed. They were always accommodating and often prepared something extra when I needed it. It was clear that they genuinely cared about making my stay as pleasant as possible. I was also impressed by the administration and leadership. Whenever I needed something, they did everything they could to make it happen. Whether it was a special request or simply making sure I was comfortable, they always responded with kindness and professionalism. What stands out most about The Villages of Lake Highlands is the people. Every department--from administration and nursing to therapy, housekeeping, dietary services, and everyone working behind the scenes--works together with one goal: providing the best possible care for their residents. Their compassion, patience, and genuine love for the people they serve are evident every single day. Recovering away from home can be difficult, but the staff made me feel cared for, respected, and valued throughout my entire stay. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I am deeply grateful to everyone at Villages of Highland Park for their dedication, kindness, and exceptional care. I would wholeheartedly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place where residents are treated with dignity, compassion, and genuine concern. Nurses and doctors really listened and actually put you on individual meds after listening each day two or three times a day to different types of extreme sickness. I say individual care because my wife and I both went at the same time and our treatments were completely different. They do not use protocols like every other place uses. I have been to many Rehabs and hospitals and paid upwards of $80,000 to $100,000 in Michigan, Florida, San Diego and and Palm Springs, so extremely nice place and they all did and said the same thing. I was back using within a month. I went home after Trusted and though I used again it had nothing to do with what they did. I left after five days and felt as good as new. Didn't know that was possible. The only problem was IV, but that wasn't their fault I had used all my veins from heroin use. They even brought in an IV doctor to get my IV done correctly with an ultrasound machine. Been to over 40 hospitals and rehabs in my life this is the only one I would recommend.

The mattress on my mother's bed was thin and flat (maybe 2") I upgraded it for my mom's comfort. The companies' business card states falsely that three(3) daily home cooked meals are provided, operated by three registered nurses (owners make cameo appearances, care is actually provided by House manager Rae who works 6 days a week with one of the owners giving relief one day). There where other red flags with my mom's care. We immediately removed my mom when she told us she was touched in a sexual way beyond regular hygienic care.

This cost her much pain and led her to cry and scream, which the staff dealt with in the most humane and compassionate manner. They spoke softly, encouragingly, and continue to let her know that they were doing the best they could to help her without causing her any pain. She is always clean, dressed and clean clothes, and in a good mood when I come to visit. The staff to patient ratio seems extremely high, and the executive director is very approachable. I would refer my other clients here in this part of DFW without thinking twice. What a wonderful secret.
