Unfortunately, the employees running the show are on a power trip. Meticulously trading 5 star reviews for general wellness practices, such as supplies to work out on a regular basis, transportation to get to appointments, or being allowed a longer stay within their housing. I limited my conversations to only the RCs and therapists, who actually help you, for this very reason. Other than that their main concern is following insurance policy & cashing their paychecks to grow the business. read more

They make you buy your own food which insurances pays for at other PHP houses. So although you're getting free housing for the time, it should cover food so they're pocketing the money. Some staff are nice, others not. You have to make your bed hotel style if you don't you get something called a stop ticket which keeps you from moving up in the program At least for another week. The longer you're here the more privileges you get such as passes and other freedoms. But basically you can't go anywhere without a pass and house managers won't provide transportation anywhere even to the corner store. All they care about is your programming and nothing else. And you can get a stop ticket easily and for just about anything. Oh and you have to make your own food and we rotate on who cooks for the house with our own food, and HAVE to eat together as a "family" and can't just eat when you want to. So basically you're told when you can't even eat. So far this place sucks I don't recommend it at all, and will keep an update if things turn around but I doubt it. read more

Discovery point has some nice staff, only during the day, at night the bad staff come in, very rude and don't care about you. I was lied to about the treatment I was going to be recieving. Then I was kicked off medications and my health was at risk. Nobody cared. I told one of the day staff that it felt like they used me for insurance money and they said they get paid so they won't disagree or agree. Scummy people. They lie to you until you're in then once that check clears they don't care. They won't even keep the place clean. Lazy people, just want your insurance money. Any rehab will work if you really want to get sober. read more

Diane especially is the heart and soul of this place, she deserves a serious raise and acknowledgment for what she really brings to this place. Only the best. That's how they do it at Elements. From the Breville espresso maker to the grand piano in the living room, or the putting green out back and egg smoker on the deck. And it's situated in the warm niche neighborhood of Lakewood, right in Swiss Avenue in the heart of Dallas. The area is like a small borough in NYC, where you can see the beautiful skyline as you walk to anywhere you need to go, like trendy and quality restaurants, spa treatments, haircuts, banks, even the gym which they provide memberships for clients. Location is important because it puts residents in close proximity to a ton of people in recovery, and different recovery meetings nearby. There are several A.A., NA, Dharma, and SMART recovery meetings nearby, and weekly they have an NA meeting and a Dharma recovery meeting at the house which are both excellent and well attended. But the really precious thing about Elements is the people. The residents are all highly motivated towards recovery and supportive of one another. The house manager is vigilant and committed to keeping residents on track. Drug testing weekly and breathalyzers every night. He also coordinates and participates in community service events like feeding the homeless. The Sober Coach is one of the best in the country. He is instrumental in reframing the situation as it applies to each individual and their long term recovery goals. He helps with relationships and communication with loved ones and advocates for the residents. He leads outreach ventures eg to maximum security prisons and includes residents in these outings. The Life Coach is one of the smartest people I've ever met. She helps residents with everything from the simple tasks of linking bank accounts where they need to go, to formalizing and updating their resumes and doing interview prep. And all of them are networked all over DFW and can get the resident in front of of exactly the right people to achieve their objectives. I've seen residents come through here and transform their lives for the better, improving their relationships, education, and career opportunities. It's a beautiful thing to see the positive transformation that occurs during a resident's time at Elements and working with the team. Highest rating. I could not endorse more emphatically. Five Stars. I sincerely appreciate this place, these people, and what they do.

What a surprise they were also ignoring her calls to the point where she also had to come in person. Sad to say I'll be switching providers due to the lack of professionalism from the management and front desk employees.

Their specialized rehabilitation teaches the patient how to live life from a wheelchair. As terrible and as sad as an injury like this is, no one was in there moping. The positive energy that fills this hospital is amazing. It's truly incredible to see what a person can do with the right information. This rehabilitation center provides the patient with information that, while not hard, may have never been utilized. I give this place five stars because the staff, every one of them were sincere, positive, and accommodating. I have one exception. A doctor who seems to have fallen into a rut of repetition, unwilling to personalize his specific and unique authority. Dr. Lance Bruce. When questioned about a credible, however unique (to the patient) condition, he blew it off and was rather rude. I am not going to get into specifics, but my family has health care experience so we weren't just talking out of our respective you know whats. But since there is such minimal contact with this doctor, even if you are his patient, and since the real support comes from everyone else here, I still give this place an A+ for making such a terrible situation for someone into a manageable lifestyle. Family is also welcome at all times. Each patient has a weekly meeting about their progress in which their doctor, physical therapist, nurse, social worker, and family are in attendance.

I am so grateful for all that DPR has done for me. My journey started in Ennis. Rebecca Lauren Emilio Thomas and everyone else started laying the ground work for my recovery. Once I got to Dallas I was able to envision what sobriety meant. Sam Clay Christy Brian Birdie and everyone give you tough love. They want you to succeed but they won't just push you through the program. They want you to have a sober life. Suzanne, JJ, and Eddie help in the housing. From hugs by Suzanne or JJs humor, or Eddie's insight They want to make your home life easier. This is not a program for the faint of heart. Be prepared to find the best and worst parts of you. I support DPR 100%. This program has changed so much in the last 9 months. Clients go on multiple fun outings every week, clients are housed around Dallas in some of the most popular areas to live. Clients get to go to several outside meetings. Food is provided. The groups are facilitated by different people from therapists and recovery coaches, a lot of them are in recovery as well. Staff cares about clients and upper management is open to suggestions and available to speak to clients without an appointment face to face every day starting at noon. There is transparency on the operations of the facility. The best has yet to come for this program too the way that DPR Dallas is headed. People really care here, too. read more

Great place to build a solid foundation in your recovery , the therapist , recovery coaches , programming and clinical directors really care about the clients they put their heart and soul into what they do!! I started out going through this rehab 2 1/2 years ago, have been sober since and has been my greatest accomplishment in my life. I work with DPR now helping with house management, maintenance and crisis intervention when clients are struggling. This place has grown and just keeps getting better and better. The team of people here truly care and a lot of us can relate to the struggles the clients are going threw. This place really cares about you. I had nowhere to go and was deep in my addiction I could not get back on my feet. I came to discovery point at my lowest, and I am happy to say I am now sober for over six months. This place is different, the housing is free in your surrounded by house managers and therapist who genuinely care about your well-being. they also feed you for free while you're there. I was able to get my ID and find a job and when I left, I had money in my bank account ready to start my life over. I cannot be more grateful for my time at discovery point retreat. read more

Discovery point has given me the tools to be successful in life. I have gotten my family back and my life back because of the amazing staff, especially because of my recovery coach Sam he was always available to talk with clients and always taught the best classes and had clients attention at all times. D.P.R was a really good treatment facility. Sam, which was the very first person I got to meet as an R.C was so awesome and truly a VERY helpful person with my recovery. He stood by my side all along and helped me understand myself better and what I needed to save myself. Throughout that time of me being in the program, and even now having graduated, he still is by my side and keeping me solid. They really do care for the people that come through DPR. They use the 12 step program AA offers to help individuals grow. Staff such as Sam Rainey set the standards of accountability high, not only for the clients but he holds himself to the same standard. Living a solid program of example for clients to see and understand that recovery from a hopeless state is possible, living in constant action Helping others and staying connected with a higher power. I would highly recommend Discovery Point Retreat to anyone who is struggling with addiction. read more

Being a patient at the Dallas facility I have learned many different coping and life skills. The employees have been absolutely wonderful and have guided me along in my journey to sobriety.
