A Cupar institution that has been popular for years. Lovely cakes and a lovely cafe too. The chocolate eclairs are especially good.

I'm not sure how to describe how much I like donuts. I travel the world in search of baked goods,…read moreso when I say this is a good donut, I mean it. Like, it is really good. One of the best I've ever had. I've tried the strawberry one, oreo one, another glazed one with walnuts. Mmm mm. They are light and sweet and not too greasy (which is a big problem with homemade donuts). I walk by here every time I go to the yoga studio and that is dangerous. I tried a bagel sandwich the other day that was also good, but the bagel just wasn't as crispy on the outside as I like it. I am sort of a bagel snob since I hail from New York City though, so I might be overanalyzing it. I'd likely go back and eat another because I like bagel sandwiches. The soup I tried was just meh, curry cauliflower, I found it too thin. But the donuts will definitely be my #1 item and I'll probably end up buying them every single week at this rate.

Deadly Donuts have gotten into the donut revolution early, and they're gooooood. I tried coming here a few times before actually being able to have a donut. A sign hangs in the window letting people know if the donuts are sold out but it's misleading- the cafe is still open even when sold out (it looks like a closed sign so I've passed by before without realising they were open) and last time I was here the sold out sign was up but the donuts were brought out five minutes later. The owner is a lovely hard working guy who knows his fried goods and loves a chat about tasty treats. He has just started hosting weekly BYOB dinners which also sound brilliant. Highly recommend coming here and persevering for donuts!

Previously a pop-up, Iain and Annika's brick & mortar an instant hit in a market where handmade Doughnuts were previously unheard of, guests entering the space near Central Station will immediately note whimsical decorations, friendly servers and roughly 18 varieties including a trio targeting Vegans. Responsible in practices, sustainable packaging and living wages part of their ethos, choices range from Cake to Risen and Bismarks with the later exemplified by springy Brioche filled with a Maple-Cinnamon Custard beneath Cinnamon Icing and a "Doughnut Crouton." Trendy but not overwrought, an Old Fashioned with Bacon given depth by Brown Butter, Tantrum's signature Almond Buttermilk Old Fashioned eats moist and subtle while Cereal Milk Crunch takes a decadent approach fully-stuffed with nutty-sweet Cream. Using Hibiscus instead of the usual Raspberry for a Pistachio ring, surprising almost anywhere outside of Latin America, perhaps the best overall bite comes from a squared "Old Fashioned" that is actually a Blueberry Cake Doughnut with naturally flavored Icing and a drizzle of White Chocolate.

Hot Doughnut - Now, that's one HOT doughnut!

Thanks to Carolyn E for adding the photo of this place otherwise I was in such an oblivion I think I'd have missed it! So, they do doughnuts. I'm not sure the name is entirely accurate as they didn't seem to be hot when I purchased them - although the owner did tell me they are made fresh on site every day so they are HOT in that sense. Today there was a selection of doughnuts - no mini ones, sadly - I got the chocolate & blueberries, coconut and chocolate & custard doughnuts. Now, I'll be honest - I don't really have a sweet tooth and I prefer doughnuts which are relatively plain and sugar coated rather than icing. I've tried the chocolate & blueberries one so far and thought it was really good, clearly fresh and a really nice filling which was a bit unusual. Prices are reasonable at £1.50 for a two filling doughnut and £1 for a single filling. They also sell things like coffee, baked cheesecakes, hot dog bake and ham & cheese bake. The owner was super friendly and welcoming, and really helpful. This wee shop definitely deserves a visit.

I don't think they're very much like a regular doughnut as we know them and more like a big sweet filled bun with glazing. I think it's the glaze they use I'm not keen on ~ I've tried 2 different flavours and they both had the same, overpowering, candied fruits flavour glazing on them which detracted from the actual filling flavour/s. Their fresh, mini (and proper hot) doughnuts however I am a fan of. You can get them in plain sugared or coated in cinnamon. I opted for cinnamon & they were delicious. You get 4 smaller, ringed doughnuts for £1.20 which I think is really good, especially considering they cook them fresh to order. As well as doughnuts they sell baked cheesecake which I haven't tried yet and some savoury snacks too such as toasties. They also have a basic selection of hot drinks. The lady who works here is always really friendly and does try a bit of the ol' up-sale on you which is fair enough as they're a small business trying to get by and with just selling such few products at a very cheap price (most doughnuts are only £1 each) you do have to wonder how long they'll be around for... If you're in the area then deffo pop in and give them a try. The mini hot fresh doughnuts are delicious & you can save yourself a trip to The Fort by getting them here!
