O How I LOVE Murray's baked goods! Literally, if I didn't control myself I would stop in each time I walk by... Which is quite often! They sell out so fast too ! In the morning the store is loaded with delicious looking treats and by 3pm all it has left are a few meat pies and some apple pies... SOMETIMES they even close EARLY if they sell out! Everything is made there in the kitchen/workshop in the back and it all is amazing! Taste like your grandma just baked for you! The prices are so cheap and the goods so delicious! The Apple slices are my favorite! And I love their fruit pies! Sometimes I think about getting a job here so I can learn how to bake these delicious things! read more
I love local bakeries... and I'm sure I love them more than I should. Murray's is dangerously close to my flat and just a few doors down from my local Tesco. I walk past this place almost every day, and it would probably be better for me to walk on the other side of the street... I always have to take a look in the display window even if I'm in a rush. It's no secret that Murrays was voted best Scotch pie recently, but that's only one of the great things about this place. Visit here on any Saturday and the queue will be out the door. People come here for the cakes, the apple slices, the pies, the scones, you name it. If you're short on time to prepare something for guests, then why not stop in here for a pie or cake that would barely set you back one coin? Really, there's no point getting a store-bought baked good, when there's a great bakery right next door to Tesco. I have to say, as well, that if you happen to walk past and see something you like, then you should buy it then... they sell out quickly. I've made this mistake more than once... which could be for the benefit of my waistline. read more

I'm not even sure where I should begin, or if I will be able to do this fantastic little bakery the justice it deserves. My love and I were in Perth on holiday when we happened upon this bakery as we noticed a queue out the door. The front of the shop says it all "World Scotch Pie Championship 2015" You read that right!! And to be completely honest, they have THE BEST Scotch Pie I've ever had. We stopped in twice for pies, the second time buying a macaroni pie as well. The pies are only 80p a piece and they even have full fruit pies for 1.20. The prices are unbeatable, really. I'm so glad we don't live in Perth because I'd probably be about 500 stone. There are so many amazing goodies to be bought, spending two days in Perth would never be enough to sample them all, but anyone who has the chance, must go check this place out. The staff were friendly and quick, getting massive queues in and out in no time flat. It's cash only, so make sure you have plenty. I'd hate for you to not have enough and not be able to buy all your heart desires. it really is a pretty amazing shop. read more

I was dissapointed on my recent visit to the shop that there pies, sausage rolls, bridies etc have increased in price again. The directors of this company are regularly putting there prices up,and i for one will stop using this bakers as enough is enough. There produce has declined over the years especialy there mince pies which used to be spicy but unfortunately no more read more

I was directed to Murrays bakery after asking where to get a decent scotch pie. I have tried them from several internet suppliers, even scotsmeat and I think Murrays are about the best I've had in many years, good crust and nicely seasoned filling at a very comfortable price. What more could you ask for. I have now exported a couple of dozen to my home in Wales to be eaten at leisure. Good to know you Murrays. read more

best scotch pies for miles around, and their sausage rolls aren't too shabby either. Murrays is an institution in Perth and the service is extremely friendly. I think the same ladies have been working there for years, which must say something. Customers vote with their feet too; there is a brand new Greggs directly opposite Murrays now, selling a range of baked goods and sandwiches, yet the queue extends out into the street from Murrays come lunchtime while Greggs has about a quarter of the custom! read more

Set off from Manchester thurs nite and stayed at my brothers in Coatbridge, first thing Friday morning it was off to Perth, getting there at 8.40 to get 48 of the best scotch pies in the world. Train back home at 9.15 down south with the result being the guys in the office having Murrays pies for lunch at 2pm. The rest in the freezer for a later date. A must for all pie lovers, well worth the journey. read more

This is an ordinary bakery. but a great one. Definitely the best I know of in Perth. It's small and there is always a queue of all sorts of people, sometimes out the door. The ladies are all cheerful and especially nice to toddlers and grannies. I saw one come round the counter today to put an old lady's purchases into her hand. They do hot sausage rolls and all kinds of fruit pies. read more

Love It! Best pies and apple slices around. The only problem is that sometimes the queue is outside the door.
