I am glad we split our order, because the short bread cookie was layered with caramel and milk chocolate and was so decadent. The fudge doughnut was the thing we came for and it was amazing. The doughnut was light and airy and filled with a sweet, but not too sweet, custard. They also serve lunch and other hot items, but today was dedicated to the sweets. There was a steady stream of people, so the locals all know about this place. It you are in town, you won't want to miss it.

Liberally sprinkled with castor sugar --- and ... a hint of salt which I have always enjoyed in a shortbread. Some people don't use it - which I find lacking. Server was very chatty & helpful, but they lose a star for not coping very well with a sudden influx of customers, when we finished our mains, the plates weren't cleared away or our dessert order taken, despite standing at the counter pointedly checking out the cake display or trying to catch the server's eye for a good 15 minutes. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but we barely made it to the cinema on time to catch the start of the movie. . . Overall fantastic food, but perhaps another member of staff needed at busy times.
