At the first rain water poured from the place where the previous downspout was supposedly sealed. Bobby told me he would personally fix the leaking seal, but instead he sent the same helper who had botched the seal the first time. Because Bobby was "on his way", I asked the helper to wait and have Bobby do the job. He ignored my request and was finished when Bobby arrived. Bobby noted there was still a little water from a previous rain, which means the helper applied the replacement sealer on wet metal. I heard the helper tell Bobby the sealant needed to cure 9 hours, but Bobby flooded the gutter with water because it hadn't been cleaned the first time the helper came. Then Bobby told me they'd used silicone to reseal the hole, and from everything I've read silicone does not adhere well to galvanized steel and will fail quickly. Bobby told me that all sealant for gutters is silicone and I knew that wasn't true, which I've confirmed with other companies that seal gutter leaks. I wrote an email to Bobby requesting he either refund the $200 cash I paid or come and try again to do the job again using a sealant that works with galvanized steel. He did not even bother to respond. I am going to have to hire another repair person to have this job done correctly as it is apparently not something Bobby is willing to do. If you need gutter repairs done, I would strongly suggest you look elsewhere, possibly with someone licensed who is more knowledgeable. THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU HAS RATED THIS COMPANY AS "F". "BBB confirmed this company had not obtained a necessary license from Contractors State License Board." According to BBB, this is a required competency license.

This is the definition of the Fox watching the Hen house because of course for a ridiculous price they will perform the repairs. One of two thigs will happen to you with 100% guarantee. #1) You will get an inspection report stating that your roof is in desperate need of repairs or it will leak most likely this winter. (this scares the hell out of buyers) The most common and costly finding is the "Need to clean all valley gutters" scam that these types of profit centers write. This is going to cost you serious money to repair and once an inspection report is issued on a property it becomes legally attached to the property sale moving forward and must be dealt with. #2) The buyer either uses these inflated costs of repairs to demand money back from you or in some cases they are terrified enough with their findings they will completely back out of you sale offer all together. Losing a strong buyer with a good initial offer in the middle escrow has so many costs associated with it.
