The fried green tomatoes and fried okra literally came from Richard's garden earlier that day. Everything was fresh, homemade, and delicious. The total bill for six dinners, six sodas, fried okra, fried green tomatoes, hush puppies, and three desserts came to $140 before tip. Try finding that at a Myrtle Beach tourist restaurant. As we were leaving, Richard told us not to tell too many people about his place. I think he was only partially joking. Luvan's is by reservation only. If you don't have a reservation, don't even bother. Richard only serves a few small groups each evening, which is probably part of what makes the experience so special.
