Betty has thought of virtually everything a traveler could need and guests get free reign of the upstairs during their stay. I love that Betty welcomes people to take home unfinished books from her library - "books are meant to be read, not sit on a shelf," she says. Breakfast was made at the prearranged time convenient for us (so appreciated!) and was delicious and abundant. She sat and chatted with us during breakfast and is so personable. We had to depart on a jet plane that afternoon after our 4-day trip to the Evergreen State and had a few bottles of wine that we hadn't enjoyed so I offered them to Betty and she even suggested she could take their value off our bill, although I refused because they were a gift to her for our lovely stay. Would be happy to return to Viewmont Manor if we ever find ourselves back in Bellingham!

This was served with Greek yogurt and granola, along with a cold glass of orange juice. Even though the food was to die for, the best part about Viewmont Manor was meeting Betty. She is the sweetest, most sincere Bed & Breakfast hostess that anyone could ask for. When you stay at Viewmont Manor you feel like a dear member of her family. I can't wait to come back to visit!

Alice Bay is only a couple hours from Seatac but feels like you could be in Alaska. Set in the gorgeous but humble Skagit Valley, it is blessed with serene Bay views, visits from herons, rocky beaches and solitude. Plenty of solitude. The proprietors are salt of the earth and appear only as much is necessary - or as much as you'd like. The digs are simple but spacious. But private is pretty much the m.o. here. I guess it would be the well stocked kitchen, spacious grounds and wonderful aroma emanating from the numerous rose bushes that line the lawn area - oh, and the indoor pool, an adjacent large hot tub, and fire pit at which you can mingle with newly acquired friends. Leaving the best for last: The host and hostess are amazing! They accommodated our every need, made us feel at home, and even provided us with S'mores for the fire pit one evening. Yumm! We arrive around 330 pm and was greet by the hose Dave and their adorable dog and cats. The living room are really clean and cozy. Bedroom was nicely decorated and clean, there were towels, chocolates and handmade soap in the bathroom! ( even a Shea butter bubble bath and candles ) very thoughtful and all the little details are nice. After hotsprinf and dinner about 15 min drive away from Harrison, we were back at the B&B to enjoy the wine we brought, they have fridge, hot water, tea , pop , wine glasses and wine opener. Me and gf had a game of chess with their lovely dog sleeping beside us. There were real wood in the fireplace , very cozy and homey feeling. The next morning the breakfast was ready as time requested, a lot of fresh fruits and homemade bakery. Their coffee was from a local organic roaster shop.great host, great value , quite place to relax. Would definitely come back again in the future.

It's such a lovely setting, right next to the water. The rooms are gorgeous and well-appointed, from the furniture to the linens to all the little things. There's an outdoor hot-tub with a rock-star view. Nick and Lise are especially wonderful hosts, easy to talk to, make great meals, and aren't too intrusive at all. They've had guests from all over the world who rave about the place. Try it - you'll like it!

They were three generations of women and they were super sweet. We purchased homemade blueberry cobbler, homemade jam and rump roast. They ran out of their rib eye sadly. We stayed two nights. The first night their older dog, Jacky, walked into our camp and we fell in love with her. Apparently, she frequently walks to the different campsites to greet the neighbors. So if you have the opportunity to meet her, give her lots of pets and love. Great place and another grand experience. Again, reservations are a must.
