Nice, friendly resturant, the the person at the counter, smile, very nice and friendly, serves as your waitress is very nice. The food is delicious, great flavor, great presentation. Smells just wonderful. Also have a busy drive up window. Nice, clean well set up to eat in or take out. The cost is good for the amount of food. Very easy access, lots of free parking. I was born and raised in STL.. people are forever saying Chinese food in STL is the BEST!! First Wok is my favorite place to eat and I mean come on... I lived in STL lol!! I do wish they had St. Paul sandwiches!! They give huge portions and we end up just eating the rest later.. I have tried special lo mein, chicken wings, crab Rangoon.. it's so good!! Tonight, February 24th, at approximately 8:45, we RAN and ordered (2) LARGE CHICKEN FRIED RICE orders to go. When we got home, we literally dug in. We had a very long day and we're very hungry. We opened our boxes and started eating. First thing we noticed was the rice was MUSHY and not good. After eating almost half, we both noticed we hadn't gotten to any chicken. I laughingly said, "are you sure they didn't think you ordered chicken flavored rice instead of chicken fried rice?" So, we kept eating UNTIL..we both got sick of eating the NASTY MUSHY RICE. Just out of curiosity, we dumped our rice boxes upside down on a plate. What did we find in each??? 2 very small slivers of chicken meat... which means...NO CHICKEN WAS EVEN COOKED IN OUR FRIED RICE. A SMALL amount (2 slivers), was placed in each LARGE rice box..then covered and packed with this NASTY BLAND HORRIBLE (DAYS OLD?) RICE. It was NOT fit for our dogs...we TRASHED the remainder. IM FURIOUS at how NO ONE CARES ABOUT QUALITY anymore. When I buy rice, it's relatively cheap... what we PAID for all this NASTY rice was HORRIBLE. Our $$ doesn't grow on trees either and I'm sick of being ROBBED. SAVE yourself time, A LOT OF MONEY and heartache... DON'T order from here. read more

The worst Chinese food I have ever had. Everything tasted old and had a funny aftertaste. We waited 20 minutes for them to cook our food. I wish we would have just passed on the food and gone elsewhere. We ended up throwing it all out. read more

Five star for my entree, Kung pao chicken with added broccoli and fried rice, but probably 3.5 for the extras (crab Rangoon and egg roll). My entree was served piping hot, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. Some of the best Chinese food I've eaten. All of the veggies tasted fresh, chicken was juicy, and the sauce was the perfect balance of flavors with a nice mouthfeel. Fried rice was also well-prepared, with a really nice flavor to accompany the entree. Only downside (but obvs not down enough to distract from how great the entree was) were the extras. The filling in the crab Rangoon ran somewhere from flavorless toward slightly bitter, and even though these are typically my favorite part of a take out Chinese meal, I couldn't finish these. Egg roll was better, but still not great. The wrapper was thick and difficult to bite through, and felt unbalanced with the fillings inside. I'll still come back (again and again, when I'm in town), but would just skip those things and enjoy the yummy flavors elsewhere in the menu. read more

I eat here every week. I literally live on their chicken noodle soup, it's so good. My boyfriend always gets their crab racoon and beef fried rice which are also both very good. I usually end up having stomach pain after eating at most Chinese places but not at First Wok. They make their chicken broth from scratch and it's one of the most healing things you can get your hands on. Love this place. read more

Honestly a few years ago, first wok was really good. I used to consider it the best Chinese food in my area even though there's not many options. To me the quality has gone down hill. I had just recently ordered food with them and like the last time my white rice was mushy & had too much salt in it. The fried rice was regular texture, so I'm not sure if the white rice they've given me the last two times is from earlier in the day or they over cooked it But moving on to the chicken. The general Tso's and sesame chicken I ordered literally tasted exactly the same, had the same sauce on it. The only difference was it had sesame seeds on it, That's it. The general tsos that I asked to be white me was 90% breading and 10% meat So at this point, Im done ordering from them because I feel like I'm just wasting my money. read more
