I don't even know where to begin with my experience. I was home for the holidays and wanted to purchase a pair of blundstones as a little christmas gift for myself. It was very busy and they were trying to function with only two staff working the first time i visited with my mom so i decided to come back the next day. Upon returning, I was happy to see only a few people ahead of me so i patiently waited to be served, while i was trying different boots on it became busier, and busier and although the man serving me was friendly and knowledgable there is only so much one person can do. The sizes for blundstones are very different than other shoes so its a process to find the right style and size to fit properly. I left with a beautiful pair of boots and a smile on my face. Unfortunately, I headed back to Halifax and within a day or two of wearing them I realized they werent fitting the way they needed to. I contacted them and was immediately taken care of by the owners daughter who gave me some great tips about how to break them in, and assured me that they would figure something out and make sure I was taken care of. It was perfect timing my dad was in Halifax for a night on work and brought my boots back to be exchanged. Unfortunately, they are very low in stock due to a high demand and they did not have the boots I wanted. They assured me it wouldnt take long and they would have them shipped to me in Halifax. I waited a week and a half without any word from them on when i would receive my boots, so I called (without answer three separate times in a few days) and left two voicemails. I messaged their FB page as well but there was no response from them. At this point I began to panic because I had paid $240.00 and was without boots or a refund. I called again, left another voicemail saying that I was VERY uneasy with this and still did not receive a call back. After another few days, I called and finally talked to a staff member who informed me that my new boots would be shipped to be immediately. I was told it takes between 5-10 business days and I was more than okay with waiting (at this point it had been about 2.5 weeks since original purchase, so what was another few days). At the two week point I called back to ask if there was a tracking number I could have for my boots. At this point, I was told that my boots had shown up at the store and were a mismatched pair so he had sent them back and ordered another pair. Im not sure why they didn't call me when they found this out, as I was checking the mail everyday for two weeks waiting for my boots and they weren't on the way. At this point I requested a refund and he told me that they were opening a huge shipment of boots and he could guarantee they would be sent by the end of the day. (this was a thursday, so he said they would arrive early monday) I struggled to agree with this but said i would require a tracking number when they were sent and he said of corse and that he would call before noon the next day. The next day came, without any word.It was Friday so I waited over the weekend to see if they would arrive on Monday as promised but Monday came and went so I asked my boyfriend to call and demand my money back! He called five that day without any response and then finally he talked to someone who was rude to him, said he JUST shipped them and that it cost them $40.00 (like that was going to make him feel bad) and gave him a tracking number. When I arrived home they were at my house, so Im not sure why he said they had only just been shipped.
OVERALL, the experience was shocking. I wanted to support local but should have asked for a refund right away and not put my faith in such a disorganized business. I know that their hearts are in the right place but they are in WAY over their heads for the demand. If you plan on purchasing your boots that day make sure to research the sizing and make sure you know what you want.
I can speak for two other people who have had VERY similar experiences as this. My boots are wonderful, but were NOT worth this struggle. read more
