I have been to First watch in person and it was a great experience. With the quarantine situation now, I've decided to order breakfast from here. However, when the food arrive, the presentation of the food looked smashed together and eaten. The bread was burnt and the "fresh fruits" they provided were poor. There were only like four pieces of fruits. I asked for a sunny side up eggs and the top of the eggs were not even ready to eat. I had to recook them myself. The place was full, but we were seated in just a couple of minutes - friendly hostess and staff ! The menu is great - I had an omelette and it was fantastic. My favorite go-to for brunch for many reasons. 1) Proximity to home. Usually get hungry before realizing I have no breakfast foods to cook at home. 2) Able to be added to waitlist via this app (Love Yelp) before leaving home. This means once we arrive, we usually get to sit down when we check-in at the hostess stand or our wait is very short. 3) Brunch food items are yum!!! Great variety especially if vegetarian or vegan. I've visited this First Watch location multiple times and each has been met with sub par service. The waitstaff and kitchen don't seem to communicate well because orders are consistently incorrect. Perhaps they do not have enough waitstaff scheduled to accommodate a brunch rush, but even when fairly empty, they seem to struggle with simple tasks: taking drink orders, refilling drinks, checking on meal after delivery. There are a large amount of reviews criticizing the service at this location, it would seem wise to have a Waiting 101 course with their staff before they ruin themselves. Also their checkout process (patrons bring their checks to the register) creates a lot of congestion in the entrance way. I think they should just have waitstaff cash their customers out because the placement of the door/register leads to annoying clustering. read more

Every time we go we wait anywhere from 15-20 minutes for our food, and get to spend plenty of time watching the servers gather behind the wall seperating booths from kitchen, where they _just stand and chitchat_. Nobody checks on drinks--I have NEVER ONCE gotten my coke refilled, and we've been at least a dozen times at various times a day. Our shared carafe of water has been refilled once. If the food wasn't so absolutely exquisite I wouldn't go back. As it stands now we go about 1/2 as often as we would if they were more reliable. read more

Having worked the industry for over 7 years I know that servers can be caught in the chaos and heat of the moment... but this was something else. No refills on water. No checking in on how the meal was going. Had to ask someone to get her to the table multiple times to tell her she got our order wrong. Did not bring the check until we were getting up to just ask for it. Did not bring to-go boxes. And the best part?? She flat told me to my face that I was wrong and lying when I told her all of this. What restaurant have you ever been to that a server speaks to a patron with a condescending attitude? I'll tell you that I HAVE NEVER been to one. Seriously hope this gets addressed. read more

Our second time eating here at First Watch. I had Parma Skillet I believe its called...skillet potatoes covered in crimini mushrooms,italian sausage,cheese and eggs. Everything was good but the potatoes. They were basically boiled plain potatoes, not very appealing. I'm assuming they are meant to be browned on the griddle but I believe that step was skipped. Really ruined the dish. Possibly they were super slammed in the kitchen but I'd much rather wait a few mins extra and get an amazing meal as opposed to a mediocre one. Worth the wait! There was a 20 min wait for two when we arrived around 10:30am on a Wednesday (it was the day before Thanksgiving though so not sure if this is typical of a weekday). The hostess was so sweet and got me a coffee to enjoy while we waited. They use Yelp to track your place in line which was really nice. Once we got seated, it took me a few minutes to decide because the menu is huge with tons of options that all sounded so good! On recommendation from our server, I got the carnitas breakfast burrito which is on the seasonal menu. SO GOOD! Husband got one of the hash bowls with over easy eggs on top, which also looked delicious. The coffee was decent-- nothing to write home about. But I appreciate they have nondairy creamers which is a nice option. Husband also got a fresh tomato juice which was perfect. I come here often. The food is consistently outstanding. The service (well out of all my.visits, I've had one decent server). I am not familiar with f&b staffing, I'm not sure if they just don't have enough servers, or if I always get a dingy one, or if the entire staff if jacked. I know food must come from the kitchen, I expect to wait on my food (& it's worth waiting for). However, tea refills don't come from the kitchen, asking me if I need a refill when I'm finished eating just doesn't cut it for me. If you can deal with slow or no-refill service, the food is great, but I just dont get the issue this place has with servers. read more

Fresh food here! I was a little bummed that it was such small portions. I got eggs Benedict and all sides must be al l carte. I was still hungry when I left. I also ordered the kale juice which was delicious. Not a standard style for breakfast. I think my Benedict was on some type of sourdough roll which was weird.... I didn't love that. Earlier today, I visited Lebanon,TN store and I will never visit again. The reason being is that I have a medical condition that doesn't allow me to consume no more than 2-4 oz of food. I have a card from my healthcare provider that states so. I asked for the kids menu and was told in a rude way by the manager that they do not honor those types of requests and she lied to me and said that the kids portions are the same as the adult portions. I will post this incident on social media so that others with the same condition don't patronize this chain. It would be a different story if I was being frugal, but I was not. I am from Texas and have experienced better customer service, than what I experienced on May 3, 2019. My server was amazing, but the young lady who checked us out for that afternoon was rude and unprofessional. I explained to the cashier that I had a coupon and that is why I was giving this place another try in TN. She then let me know that it would take forever to cancel my transaction and she never made eye contact and walked away. Our server who was amazing came and canceled the transaction within 3 minutes we were in and out. I will not be returning to this location and I wish that she would have handled the situation better. This place did not disappoint. Ironically, there is a First Watch in Newport News, Va which is close to where I live. However, I waited to try it out until I was out of town. Glad I decided to try it. Can't wait to go to the location near my home. I had a tough time choosing from the menu because everything sounded delicious. I went with one of the fall specials. It was one pumpkin pancake, two caged free eggs any style, and apple chicken sausage. Very filling!! The pancake wasn't overly sweet which I really enjoyed. Sometimes I've gotten a pumpkin pancake and it taste more like cinnamon and sugar than pumpkin. With this pancake you knew without question that was a pumpkin pancake and it was yummy. read more

I am glad to have another choice in my area for breakfast. Apparently so are many others because the place was packed and the line was literally out the door. The way the ceilings are in there made it quite loud as well. I had the smoked salmon benedict and it was really good and had plenty of smoked salmon on it. The portion size was definitely not skimpy. But in my mind it was a bit pricey for a breakfast that came with a side of potatoes. Service was friendly and efficient. Speaking of pricey, both the husband and I ordered iced coffee. We joyfully slurped them down and got a refill. It wasn't until we received the check that we noticed that you get charged for each beverage. It would have been nice had we been told that ahead of time so we could decide if we wanted to pay the extra money for another drink. This time I ordered the Smoked Salmon Fertitta (I got egg whites, and I can't recall all of the ingredients but there was smoked salmon, mushrooms, cheese (a white, mellow cheese), maybe some tomatoes and onions, and a white sauce dribbled over it)...WOW! My girlfriend got the The Works omelette (Ham, bacon, sausage, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with Cheddar and Monterey Jack and topped with sour cream.) ...can't say enough good about this place. Love it, love it, LOVE IT!! By the way, absolutely use their "Call Ahead" service--we got seated at our appointed time in spite of a long line. My fiancé and I go here pretty much every weekend for breakfast nowadays! It's our favorite! The servers are mostly very sweet (save a few) and try hard to make the customers happy. The food is unbelievably delicious. We always start off with a side of big buttery toast while we wait (because it can get PACKED) which comes with strawberry jam. I typically get the classic Eggs Benedict which comes with the side of greens with a light and tasty lemon dressing. If I could eat it for every meal I think I would. My darlin gets something different every time and has yet to find anything he dislikes. (I have gotten the works omelette before which was fantastic!) The prices really aren't too bad (for the food-- the drinks seem a bit overpriced, but we just take the water and some coffee.) it usually comes out to 25 for the two of us (before giving the sweet waitresses a big fat tip that they deserve for working their butts off!) We ALWAYS leave happy. I am so glad they are in the community! The other reviewers are right though-- ditch that enormous line and get the app! This is a perfect casual breakfast spot, and I'm excited that there's more than one in the Nashville area! I stopped in with my aunt, who has had some food-related health challenges over the years. Then, when I brought up the eggs, I was given an explanation as to why they couldn't be poached medium, that they'd be runny or hard or yada yada . . . I agreed to just eat them runny to avoid further discussion on the excuse. I've had medium poached eggs plenty of times at different restaurants, so no.
