Everything from amusement parks (complete with moving/working rides) to Fallingwater! You enter and have one way to walk through to keep the traffic flowing. It can get crowded, but the staff is generally good at keeping it moving or managing when people are trying to see the same areas. I think one of the most interesting features is that the lighting changes so you can get a view of what it looks like with daylight and simulated night. The night really shows off all the details of the street lights, the lights on the rides etc. They seem to add new elements every year. This year there is currently a vote on which Pittsburgh bridge they will add. (I am hoping Smithfield Street Bridge is the one ultimately added). They will often do fun additions when there is a big attraction in town. For example, when Taylor Swift was here, they "hid" her several places throughout the train display. In the back middle, there is a conductor who will let you blow the train whistle. Don't be shy, adults can have fun pressing it too! If you are at the science center, make sure you don't miss a visit here!

Somehow or another I didn't realize you could walk across all to most of the bridges in Pittsburgh. As soon as I found that out, it changed the game. We walked from our downtown hotel, across a bridge to the incline, up the incline, more walking/eating up top, back across to Point State Park before heading back to the hotel. We did this on the day of the concert so it was the perfect way to fill the daytime. Overall, the incline is fun. It's a relic of the past and I think a great asset to the city. At the bottom, there's next to nothing(missed opportunity I think). At the top, you have views, various restaurants, and historical markers. There was a trail of some kind we were on. It had a few historical markers on it and appeared to go on forever. We didn't have time that day to explore a ton but we did check out a portion. I didn't realize the French claimed Pittsburgh for years at one point. They fought off the British, Native Americans and anyone that came along for 5-6 years. The worst thing about it is needing cash to travel but it is a cheap trip. 2.50 each way. That's a steal compared to making it up that hill some other way. If you're in Pittsburgh, I think this goes on the must-list. You should at least check it out once.

Total distance is about a mile, but you do have to go up some stairs and of course across two bridges. The views the entire time are breath taking. The actual incline looks like it hasn't been touched much since it opened in 1877. I love that about it. I had a great time taking a video from the bottom to the top and taking photos along the way. The price is $2.50 one way for adults, and $1.25 one way for kids over 6 years old. The last tram trip is at 12:30am.

Plus there are several different live shows daily along with planetarium shows (free with admission). There are also add ons like the laser show and the omnimax cinema. There is a paid parking lot right outside the science center. Parking is very reasonable ($6) but depending on how busy it is, you may end up quite far from the entrance, so keep that in mind. You can purchase admission in advance online (especially important if you are visiting one of the special exhibits) or you can get it there. Either way, you will need to wait in line to get your wrist band. There are times that there is quite a line, but they seem to be pretty efficient overall at getting people through. Some favorites of our family are the earthquake simulator, the electricity show, the model train and the submarine. (note, it is wonderful to see, but there are plenty of tight spaces so might not be great to tour if you are Closterphobic). I wish they hadn't taken out their robot area. They replaced it with a Mars exploration exhibit which is interesting, but for my kids and I it was kind of a one and done whereas the robots we would visit every single time and spend tons of time there. They area that was formerly sportsworks is currently being renovated to a gocart track which I'm sure will be fun. But it seems like with each renovation they are removing some of the more educational aspects and replacing them with things that will be more fun centered. There is a cafe on the ground floor. Typical cafe type stuff that is decently priced for museum food, but still costly. You can always pack your food or just get something to eat after your visit. Avoid the weekend of Thanksgiving and the weeks of Christmas break at all costs. I made that mistake once and it was so crowded you could barely move. Definitely not a fun experience. They often host special events for both members and the general public. I've been to a few of the 21+ nights and while they are fun, as a member they aren't worth the cost to me. One of our favorite events was the Polar Express PJ party where you started the day with some science themed activities, Santa and then hot coco and snacks for a private screening of the film. Overall, a fun museum for people of all ages (definitely not just a place for kids).

After hearing about the recent major renovation, I was excited to return with my family and our young children. Unfortunately, we left feeling underwhelmed. Several of the interactive exhibits we were looking forward to were out of order, which was disappointing, especially for the kids. Some areas also felt sparse, including one section that was largely just a LEGO play area. Given the investment in the renovation, we expected a more engaging and polished experience. Overall, we didn't feel the science center lived up to its potential or justified the admission price. While there are still some enjoyable exhibits, we had hoped for a more immersive and interactive experience.

The staff at Alpine Pools, in Bethel Park, recommended the exact chemicals needed, recommended the correct time to let the chemicals work and most importantly, recommended when it would be safe to use. ALL of the "in store" staff has been understanding, helpful and informative. One employee that went "above and beyond" was Kloe. She followed up with phone calls and made sure we were satisfied with our service and the status of our pool. Granted they apparently haven't been open long and have some definite bugs that need to be smoked out if they want to rival Eide's, New Dimension Comics, or Phantom of the Attic. The old B&W store never topped Eide's Entertainment in terms of comics, but they at least had a respectable, if not vast inventory, not to mention model rockets, trains, and related items on the ground floor (comics and games were in the basement). This latest version of the long-running shop is merely two unkempt, poorly lit rooms featuring nothing but comics and gaming merchandise. Their comics selection is limited to new releases and older issues that go back no further in time than the 1980's. Also, the back issues I did see were packed way too tightly into the dirty, worn longboxes, had no backing boards in them, were in dusty, moldy polybags, and were low-grade condition-wise. None of the issues I saw were high-demand or premium either. Nor were they graded. New comics and recent back issues were stacked in baskets that lined the walls, meaning you had to awkardly lift them out one-by-one to see which issues were underneath the ones you didn't want. One plus about the new B&W is that they run specials on recent back issues that can get you 50 comics for $30 in a bagged set. New Dimension does this, and I wish Eide's and Phantom's would follow suit. Unfortunately, you can't open the bags to see all the issues that are in the sets, and there's nothing telling you what all you're getting (ND will list what's in each set on the pricetag). I'm hoping B&W improves since we could always use another comics shop in Pittsburgh, particularly Downtown, but based on my experience, I have a feeling they aren't long for this city. When the gentleman minding the store was too busy phoning a friend to answer a question I had, it left me with little desire to return. P.S. Kay found a bushel of Hellraiser comics that she wanted to purchase at a bargain of a price, but being that B&W only accepts cash, she had to put them down and buy them elsewhere (Eide's!). Way to lose out on some commerce, guys.

I've used both the Duquesne and Mon inclines many, many times in my life…read more When friends and family would come to visit, I would take them on both. When I needed to get back and forth from Mt. Washington, it was always the Mon. This incline takes you right into the Mount where you will find all the local flavor (bars, restaurants, etc.). People often confuse the two. Best way to describe is that the Mon is for everyday needs and it doesn't have a museum entrance/exit like the Duquesne incline. Either way, I think everyone needs to ride them both at least once for the experience. A rare and unique form of public transportation that is still as functional and important today as when they were first constructed.

It isn't quite as ornate (and doesn't have a museum at the top), but the ride and views are just as spectacular. It is $2.50 one way or $3.50 for a round trip ticket. Lower prices for seniors and children. You can pay using cash, a card or a Port Authority Connect Card. If you have exact change, you don't need to worry about getting a ticket at the machine. Which is helpful when the lines get busy during busier summer months. It can get busy, but the lines seem to not be as bad as they are at the other incline. Definitely take the time to ride the incline!

The station is handicapped accessible with ramps and highly readable signage indicating where we are and the next train to arrive. At 7:00 am, the platform was busy with commuters but there were plenty of seats on board the train. And because it is a junction where the Red and Blue and Silver lines stop, there are going to be multiple trains. I had a question for a staff person and so it was great that a very nice lady was working today. Why does the PRT app indicate "Not valid for rail"? Well, that's because the bar code can't be validated on the trains but she has the "validator" app and that's now all set. Washington Junction is indeed a junction where lines from Pittsburgh to Washington PA met up with lines from Roscoe PA. Note that you are only allowed to park in designated spaces. Anywhere else and your car might not be here when you return. Food and drink are not permitted on the train and if you're listening to something, you should be using earphones. Recently had the absolute pleasure of visiting Acrisure Stadium during the NFL Draft, and what an…read moreunforgettable experience. Being inside the stadium where so many big moments happen was already special, but getting to watch the draft from there made it next level. This was my first time inside, and while I still need to come back for a Pittsburgh Steelers game someday, this was an incredible introduction. We were able to sit directly on the field, which felt surreal. Kicking back in the end zone with a local beer in hand while the picks rolled in was one of the coolest sports experiences I've ever had. They also had a Topps trading card tent on the field, and my brother-in-law and I couldn't pass up the chance to rip packs right there on the turf. The stadium itself is beautiful, the atmosphere was electric, and the whole place was packed with energy once the picks started coming in. Decked out in black and yellow, I felt like an honorary yinzer for the day. Truly a bucket-list moment and a memory I'll never forget. If you ever get the chance to experience an event here, take it. Absolute blast.
