I was in a rush so I bolted in, was welcomed by a friendly bearded young bloke at the counter (with a lady in the kitchen), asked for my standard medium FW and because I didn't want to fumble with the menu, asked what I could snack on other than what was in the display cabinet (which looked fresh and inviting). He offered a toasted egg and bacon sandwich with house relish (oh yes please) and one or two other things but I was already sold (rushing remember). I took a couple of photos & took in the surroundings before my coffee was brought to me. Well crafted, creamy, strong enough, perfect temp with some nutty after tones. It took less than 5 minutes and my sandwich was brought out to me and I left feeling happy. Another five minutes later after I had demolished the sandwich I was even happier. It was delicious with just the right amount of filling and the relish a great flavor They have coffee cards where every 6th is free and my spend was just under $10, also a fair price. Look, I'll be going back and unless I'm mistaken I won't be changing my review. They do have some competition from further up Churchill Rd, from Prospect Rd, and from Jeffcott St, but this is a little gold star cafe in suburbia that aims to please and produces what it produces well enough to please its customers.

The couple who run the place are lovely, at least I assume they're a couple... and that they're the ones who run the place... The food didn't take all the long to arrive and the croissant I ordered was cooked beautifully. A little crispy around the edges but not black, and the cheese was melted on top rather nicely. My partner had a baguette with was beautiful and fresh, as were the ingredients that were used inside it. Upon leaving we were asked how everything was. There were definitely no complaints. The shop is also situated where the sun isn't going to cause any problems. I mention this because if you've been to the Subway at Gepps Cross Homemaker Centre you'll know what I mean. On a hot day having that sun stream through the window can make for uncomfortable dining. Thankfully that's a non issue here.

We found the place on Regency Road, amongst various shop fronts on the busy road. It wasn't the biggest of space upon entering, however, it was bright, filled with natural light and real plants. The shabby chic look worked well against the cool white walls. The fittings and furniture has clearly been recycled and / or upcycled from various op shops. It was well put together. The place was packed! And loud! We sat on the square communal table with strangers as that was the only option. Nothing wrong with that. The place wouldn't hold more than 30 patrons comfortably. Once we have decided, we placed our orders at the counter. We were advised that they were sold out of the rosticcceria items, rather disappointing as that was what I wanted. This was one of their baked-in-house items. My friend ordered the smashed avocado with riccotta on focaccia and i had the cheese pizza, with pancetta and rocket ordered as extras. Her meal came out in a timely manner, but mine did not come out till she has finished. When it did come out, my raw pancetta did not look appetising, so I requested for it to be cooked. When it returned, it looked slightly better and because I was famished, I slowly ate it with little excitement. The pizza was so dry, it was a bit of a challenge trying to enjoy it. To their credit, they did tell me that there is no sauce on the pizza. The cheese was actually baked inside the bread. Perhaps I didn't pick right, but it was the driest pizza I have ever had. My friend wasn't impressed with her smashed avocado either. She found it bland and rather boring. So, she modified it by adding salt and chilli flakes to make it more interesting. Perhaps we both lucked out with our selections, but the wait was a massive factor, especially when our meals was delivered separately. Pricepoint - very reasonable.
