We lucked out when we walked into First Stop Kids! We moved to the area about a year ago and both my husband and I work in the city so location and open hours were a big concern for us. The location could not be more perfect as they are located right across from the train station so we are able to park, drop my daughter off and walk right over to catch the train. They are also open from 7am-7pm which gives me comfort if I miss a train. The owner had just taken over and we were immediately impressed with the vision that he had for the facility as well has how relatable he was. A year later, he has made so many improvements to the classrooms, introduced new technology, hired new staff and has had consultants in to help improve the curriculum offered to the older kids. At anytime during the day, I can log on to the App that the teachers maintain and see what my daughter has eaten, when she napped, and random pictures throughout her day as well as communicate with teachers when either of us have any questions or concerns. But what matters the most is that my daughter loves it here! She talks about her day, her friends and her teachers constantly which makes me realize we made the right choice. read more

I have been using First Stop to care for my twin girls for approximately 4 months and I have been extremely please and very impressed with everything about it. First, let's start with the staff: from the head management, Scott, they are very attentive and friendly. Every teacher in the room are nice and work great with the kids. They will address your needs that you bring up without a problem. The girls love them. I have yet to see a grumpy employee here, haha. As far as the facility itself, it is conveniently located and access is easy to get in and out. Inside, the place is very clean and lots of toys and activities to keep the kids busy. They even have entertainers come in during certain days to do special activities. The phone app they have for the center is amazing. Gives you up to minute updates on meals, nap times and potty times. You can also instant message them in case you forgot to tell them something. Instant response back! They also celebrate with parties most holidays, like Halloween and Thanksgiving. The center i found to be well priced compared to the competition. Don't hesitate to use this place! read more

We have 2 children at Rosegarden- 2 years old and 5 years old. Both started as infants. What we love most about Rosegarden is the staff. We can feel the genuine love the teachers have for our children, and the feeling is mutual. The kids are stimulated daily with music, sign language, Spanish, art, dancing, and read-alouds. They also have daily outdoor play, weather permitting. Rosegarden has been under new management for about a year and the changes have been wonderful- building renovations make the space much more kid-friendly, and changes to the program (such as age groupings and curriculum) have been all positive. There is also communication from the teachers via an app with photos and updates on our children's day. But the best thing about new owner Scott is how involved he is with the kids, his approachability, and his willingness to work with families on whatever needs we may have. Rosegarden has had my son for about a year. They possess all of the qualities you would want in a daycare provider. The staff's enthusiasm is obvious and you can tell immediately that they genuinely care for children. Communication is thorough and prompt. My son has shown excellent development over time, which at a young age is critical and helpful, and they are to credit for a portion of that! Price is competitive and they've just started sending pictures and videos of your child during the day, which I found to be a huge plus! In addition, the environment is safe and all requests (diet, routine) we've made have been accommodated. The ownership is relatively new and injected some new life into the facility as well, with numerous upgrades and technological advances. This is a fantastic daycare! I had one child graduate form this daycare under old management and another currently attending under new management. The daycare center has been significantly updated and renovated in the last year with many great improvements. The hours are 7am to 7pm (amazing) and they are on a work schedule (no random holidays during the year). The children love the teachers based on how many children are hanging on each teacher when my child is dropped off and picked up. The extra activities are great; water play during the summer, music teachers once a week, etc. For the commuting parents, they are across the street from the Bellmore LIRR and always considerate of any catastrophes the LIRR throws at the parents. My children were and are always happy to go here and I am happy dropping them off there. read more

I'm so happy with Rosegarden. Under new ownership, there are so many new enhancements. Scott is making many remodeling improvements, painting, carpeting, toys, decor. The menu is diverse and healthy. The curriculum is more challenging and educational. They have school trips, a music teacher weekly. There is a large outdoor fenced in playground and garden. My boys are learning everyday. I love the new app, I can see everything my kids are eating, how frequent they go to the bathroom, the length of their naps and pix of what they're doing. I always feel connected. I'm very fond of the teachers and the rapport they have with the kids. My kids love to go to school, it makes me feel a sense of comfort and less guilty about being a working mom. read more

My 2 year old loves it here. I enrolled him 2-3 months ago and I can tell he loves seeing his friends and the teachers. His teachers are so great with him, as long as the weather is permitting, they play outside, do story time, arts and crafts, they have a music teacher come (who my son is in love with) And I love the app they have that the teachers can send you updates on their meals, bathroom time, photos of what your child is doing etc. The school is safe and the administrator is always keeping the parents informed about different events and things going on at the school. A wonderful facility filled with amazing teachers and staff. Scott, the director/owner of Rosegarden, has made numerous improvements in the last few months. There's new playground equipment, updated classrooms, healthy menu options, a new learning curriculum, and a new sign in app that allows you to view what your child is up to in real time. The school is conveniently located next to the Bellmore train station and is open until 7pm at no extra cost--a huge bonus for us parents who commute into the city and have no way of picking up their child at 5pm, which is when most daycares in the area close. read more

Owner, Scott, took over in 2017 and he immediately won us over with personal attention and commitment to executing significant improvements to the learning center -- everything from complete interior renovation to adjusting age range of some rooms to create optimal learning environments for children of similar age/development. We've been through the transition from the previous owner to the new owner, Scott, and we commend him for the smooth transition and continual updates throughout the process that did not at all disrupt my daughter's schedule. This is a great center. My son has been attending the school for over 2 years. My son feels very comfortable there, and even asks to go when it is closed sometimes. I highly recommend First Stop Kids. My daughter has been there since she was about four months, and I have not once worried about her care. It is a huge relief to leave your child with dedicated professionals especially when having long work commutes.
