I was a client years ago. Monica was the therapist and John was the owner. Monica was good and helpful. John was pushy and disrespectful. On my last visit I almost kicked him in the mouth because he was causing me severe back pain and wouldn't stop. I took was frustrated with the inability to reach them by phone. They often did not return calls. Monica is licensed, John is not. If you have an appointment for therapy and Monica is not there, I would reschedule. John adds an unprofessional attitude to the business and Monica is loosing clients. I still need pt, but would never go back to them. Not that they could ever be reached by phone. I'll be looking for a different PT establishment, one that is more professional and respectful of their patients time. I was referred to First Step by Medrisk. My first appointment was to be today. I was told to be there at 8:45 this morning. I arranged to get my daughter to school early and arrived at 8:40. At 9am no one was there so I decided to look on Yelp to read their reviews. I love this place! I visit this office often to support a client of mine and we both always feel so welcome. The whole crew is always laughing and having a good time which makes a kind of painful part of the day for my client a little more enjoyable. The rockin' tunes is always a plus as well. Monika and John are great about not rushing a patient through and make sure that a patient is doing the exercises and stretches correctly before moving on to more challenging work and they do great at making sure that the patient has made real, sustainable progress. They are also very flexible and work with me and my client's super crazy schedule to make sure that he isn't missing a beat because of too long between sessions. Thank you guys!! I've called for appointments ,left message and no one returns phone call..had another appointment one day i told them about i had at 11am that day with surgeon 5 minutes later schedules me for same time as my other appointment which i didnt see till got home,so called left message and never heard back..then 2 days before that appointment i had another with them and told them of their mistake and come to find out they got message and cancelled my appointment for two days from then..i was told i called and cancelled in message when never did..i hope my insurance is not being charged .also had a appointment 5pm friday march 31st i got there at 445pm and waited till 535pm..door was locked and no one ever came so i wasted 35 min driving one way for nothing..no one called me and still has not called me regards to messages and it is now 4-10-2017 read more

Very very talented physical therapist. Monica is thorough and has an incredible grasp on the body and how it moves and works and how to correct imbalances. The first physical therapist that I was sent to, was awful and made no progress with me at all, I have been doing a lot of work on my own for the past couple of years, but after seeing Monica for just a couple of weeks, she was able to put together the pieces and figure out my very complicated problem. Monika & John are two amazing people, They take pride in what they do and they do it well. They helped me recover from an ankle surgery and even allowed my son to work with them for over a month in order to complete his Senior project for school. They showed great patience and understanding, not too mention a willingness to teach in order for him to successfully complete his project. I have had multiple surgeries and have been to numerous physical therapy facilities and John and Monica are the best by far. They have helped me so much in the short amount of time that I have attended sessions with them, more than any other multiple facilities combined. They are professional yet personable and Monica takes the time to explain to you what the movements do, what muscles they activate or strengthen, and why you are doing them and what part it plays in your goal of healing and recovery. They both are genually concerned for your comfort and healing,yet,push you to,do,the work you need to get better. They explain and teach you how to do the moves correctly and what its actually doing as a muscle system instead of just giving you a list of exercises to do then send you home. They're not only doing their job of your physical therapy, they are teaching you how to do the exercises correctly and explaining why, so that,you can help yourself when you go home and do them correctly and in the future as preventative self care. It may not be a big fancy facility full of machines but the knowledge and skill that they have and the willingness to share with you makes up for it and all the difference in your healing and progress. I personally have made huge progress since I have attended First Step Physical Therepy with John and Monica and wont go anywhere,else!! I accompanied my Dad everytime he comes here for his therapy. The staff are very nice and skillful.

I came in to first step physical therapy for my knee pain, I was greeted really well and John gave me an over view as to what is going to happen here in physio. Monika who is the physio here spoke to me and explained to me exactly what was going on with my knee. I dont think most physios actually explain the situation but Monika spent time with me explaining and telling me how she would bring my knee pain down. Ive been going here very regularly and John would call to find out if i am doing my home programs. Following their advise my knee pain has come down significantly. i love first step physical therapy, i had surgery last year on my left ankle and they were the only ones that took me in as a new patient. they are professional, clean, and very easy to work with. monika is always concienscious of my pain level before, during and after my session. john personally calls to confirm my appointments. they are both hands on with me during each visit. my prognosis was bleak after surgery and with monica's help, i am improving better that what was expected. thanks guys and i highly recommend first step physical therapy. read more
