First Response and the driver they sent was great. Called up their dispatch office to verify that they got State Farm's request and when would the driver be there. Showed up sooner than first indicated! Overall quite pleased. I think the ratings on towing companies are probably skewed way downward as most have no idea who the towing company is and would just as soon block the experience out of their mind. read more

0 stars. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The text I received said they would be there in 65 to 95 minutes. They showed up 3 1/2 hours later. I told the driver I wanted my vehicle on the stinger because of damage to the front wheel. He said it would be fine on the flat bed then had me drive it on the truck myself. Instead of dripping it at the body shop and putting the keys on the drop box they took the vehicle to theor tow yard... supposedly. The next day when the repair shop called Agero... the company the insurance company uses to provide local road side assistance... they were told the car was there and they had pictures of it by a Busy Bee garden center. That is nowhere near the body shop... it is, however 2 blocks from the tow company. Why was my vehicle sitting on a public street 2 blocks away from the tow yard for 2 days. When the vehicle finally showed up at the shop the entire front passenger wheel was destroyed, bumper, fender, Upper and lower control arms, tire, tie rod end, half shaft ripped out of the front differential... approximately 5 thousand dollars worth of additional damage​ done to the car. No one can tell me where my car was for 2 days or why it was missing or why it was damaged so much when all they had to do was drop it off when the incident happened. Statefarm sent this town company to pick up my car and tow to the garage. My tow guy was amazing. Came early and picked up my car, no problem The company/dispatcher called me 20 min later stating my car was going to be detoured to their storage because no one was at the collision center to sign papers for my car. I told them absolutely not, that I was going to be charged and he tried telling me the insurance company pays. I explained that my insurance company specifically stated that I would be the one liable if the car ended somewhere else other than the assigned location. I went to further argue that the collision center JUST opened and there was no way his tow guy was there already because he just left my house 15 min ago and the location was 40 min away. He tried to argue with me the ETA of the tow truck. When I wouldn't budge and argued I would meet them at the collision center, he mumbled "we'll get your car there" and hung up. When I got to the collision center, the worker was not surprised and stated he signed NO PAPERS because most tow guys would just leave the cars on the lot and drop off the keys I can't believe these tow guys was trying to scam me a day of storage fees. I was ready to file a stolen car report had my car not been in the lot. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!! read more

Liars and scammers. My son had an accident where someone ran into our car. Insurance company said that they can make it easy if we use their repair partner and tow service. It was not. And they only had to two the car 2 miles to the repair shop. They took the job saying they could be there in 90 minutes. When called they repeatedly lied about location of their truck and arrival time. They didn't arrive until almost 4 hours after called. Then instead of dropping the car off and putting the keys in the big drop box on the door they took it an hour away to their yard and extorted the insurance company for storage fees. Delayed repairs by 2 days. Stay away from these scumbags. They will scam you. I should have demanded another tow service after they were late to begin with. read more

Terrible company!!! They tell you they will be there in an hour. 4 hours later no show still. I called and they said it would be another hour. I said forget it my shop will be closed by then. STATE FARM should remove this company as their go to for tows. read more

Not sure why they have just a low score on here, but we had a good experience with them. We had to get towed after a tire exploded on us on the highway. We called American Family and they connected us with them. They did say it would take a while for them to be able to get to us (eta was between 80-90 minutes) Once the driver was on his way, he reached out to confirm our location. He let us know they had given him the wrong location so it was good that he doubled checked with us before he started driving. He was friendly over the phone and reliable. Once he got to us, it took him no more than 15 minutes to hook the truck up and get us to the nearest service location. If I ever need towing services again, I would definitely call on them again! read more

I would give this towing company a 0 if I could. my son was on the expressway waiting for the tow truck that was coming 45-75 min. After waiting an hour and a half he called and was told 30 min, after 50 min he called again and was told he is close and the driver was going to call him. after another 30 min. he called again and was told 30 more min. in the meantime the insurance company called there and they told him he was 15 min away. Now 4 hours later, stuck on the expressway, he calls again and they put him on hold and never come back. I tried to call for him and he put me on hold and never came back and now doesn't answer the phone at all! These people suck and I would never call them, you will be stranded!!!! read more

I was involved in a hit and run tonight with this company. Driver was driving erratically and ended sideswiping me and dragging my car for 75-100 feet. He didn't bother to get out, just took off once he realized my car was barely drivable. No regard for other drivers. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE contact this company for anything. I'm sure this will be a case of "deny, deny, deny", but hopefully at least one potential customer saves themselves the trouble of dealing with this company after seeing this post. read more

Yep this place is the worst. If you have State Farm and they assign this company to you for Roadside, immediately call the State Farm number and have them switch to another company. Otherwise, you'll be stranded on the side of the road for hours if you wait til they cancel on you. read more

I would put zero Stars if I could. I was involved in an accident this past Saturday at 9:30 in the morning . I called a tow 30 to 40 minutes later. Now I needed to get my car to the collision center before noon when I spoke to the tow truck driver I was the next step . It is now 4 days later and the tow company still is in possession of my car charging storage fees. I am about to get an attorney because this is completely unprofessional . The tow truck driver is now not picking up when I call because clearly he recognizes my number I had my State Farm Insurance call them several times they still are not releasing my car to the Collision center. Save yourself the stress and never use this company and I am having State Farm remove this company as a suggestion for towing service. read more

This was the third towing company our insurance called to pick up our car after an accident. The truck came to our house, where the car was parked in our driveway with the keys inside. They sat outside for 10 minutes and then left. When we called to ask what happened we were asked "why didn't you go out to the truck?" I mean??? A very rude and hostile conversation followed during which they refused to resend the truck without a new dispatch order from the insurance. This was a terrible experience in an already stressful time. Thankfully our insurance was able to set us up with another company immediately. read more

My car was broken down on 80/94 during rush hour. Ray came to tow the vehicle that we thought was having major electric issues. He attempted to jump the vehicle, it wouldn't start, but he inspected a few other things and realized that a dealership installed ground wire to the battery had not been tightened down. He tightened it, the car started right up. He advised that when we got home (off the busy expressway) to go under the hood and thoroughly check for anything else that was loose and tighten it down. He called about 10 minutes later to make sure we were still doing okay and that we had made it home alright. Ray went above and beyond. He was very caring and we were very appreciative. He saved us a huge bill from the auto shop. read more

When he came he was so rude because I was informed by the company the tow company would provide a ride. The driver told me he wasn't giving me a ride and drove off. How rude. Completely unreliable, waited for several hours, was lied to several times over the phone on eta status and whereabouts. Wasted an entire day of back and forth when they were supposed to tow my car at 8:00am because of a battery issue. Once they eventually showed up, they said they didn't have the right tow since my car couldn't be put into neutral. I unfortunately had issues with an antique vehicle, I called my insurance and they dispatched out First Response Towing. I will say that they were very prompt and called me immediately upon arrival (I was not with my vehicle at the time). I had a conversation with the drive that I was down the street and I could come over or follow the vehicle back to my house, his response was no don't worry about it we can take care of everything. The vehicle was dropped off at my home, which I will mention is on a extremely low traffic street. I arrived home shortly after the drop off to discover that my other vehicle had been sideswiped. I immediately called the police and filed a police report, to which they even stated that its clearly damage from that of a tow truck. I also tried to call the First Response, but went directly to a voicemail box that was full. So the next morning I called First Response again and left a message to discuss, and since the damage was more visible in the morning was able to get pictures. I will mention that these pictures do show that the fender of my car was driven over, along with a straight line damage mark coinciding with that of a flatbed. That day had past and no return calls, Monday was labor day, so I once called once again on Tuesday to discuss. I was transferred to a gentleman to whom I wish I would have got his name, but he explained he was a manager and that I need to text him pictures and he will get with his driver. I did so. I also let him know that we were looking into ring video to see if anything was captured. From there the communication stopped. I figured after a day or so I would hear back, nothing. I gave it a full week and finally texted the manager once again if there was any updates, and once again there was no communication returned. I am not one to normally leave these type of reviews, but now that I have to go through my insurance to handle this matter, I feel that this review is justified. The driver had all opportunity to contact me if there was an issue with drop off let alone if there was an issue when the vehicle was dropped off. This is nothing short of a hit and run, let alone the pictures that have been sent in of the damaged vehicle match that of a tow truck (the damage has been measured in comparison and it is an exact match). The lack of customer service to address concerns and rectify this accordingly is nothing short of poor. I am just glad that my insurance has put this company on notice so that they cannot be contracted by them until this is resolved. I would not recommend nor use them in the future and after reading the reviews here, it sounds like I am not the first with a complain like this. read more
