Pros: friendly and punctual crew Cons: sloppy work that damaged our stucco, flashing cut haphazardly, fasteners in questionable locations, heat tape placed in incorrect orientation and incorrect location, roof vents out of plumb, and poor cleaning of job site (razor sharp shards of metal flashing left around perimeter, no magnet used to pick up nails, etc). When contacted after my first review the company did not offer to rectify the situation. Instead, they became defensive and claimed that "a repair can only look so good." Other roofers in town can make a repair look as good as new and that should be the standard to which work is done.

He mentioned he knows little about marketing and is growing his business the only way he knows...doing high quality work with good materials and good people. He came, looked at all the work to do and quoted me a reasonable price. So I said yes. After half a day trying to strip it, he asked me if I wanted entirely new railings for the same price, instead of stripping the old ones, which didn't want to be stripped. I said ABSOLUTELY! He promised to do a great job and he ended up doing a BEAUTIFUL job! (See pics). I really was dumbfounded on how amazing it came out. It was way better than I was first expecting, as he doesn't have a carpentry business, but it really came out stunningly beautiful. Granted, he started in the fall, and I had to wait till the spring for him to finish, and he's not exactly an early morning start worker, but none of that really matters because the finished product far exceeds my expectations. Lacking knowledge, poor customer service. They sent over a kid whose first words were "I don't…read moreknow a lot about the problem you're having." The "technician" was on the phone the whole time with someone who knew more about the subject. He rearranged some wiring and left and within a couple of hours the upstairs was 80 degrees and the downstairs 60! He came back and just put things back to the way things were. He told us he would look into options and get back to us. Not only did we get billed for the whole thing, without a diagnosis and certainly not a fix, we never did hear back from them about potential options. The kid did return the next day, to retrieve the tool box he had forgotten behind! I did contact the owner, who was completely defensive of what had happened and completely unwilling to 1) work harder to fix the problem or 2) waive any portion of the bill for the inconvenience, lack of diagnosis, lack of fix, $400 for his apprentice to dink around in our basement for an afternoon hardly seems worth it! He also removed quite a bit of foam from our dampers that I had to replace. Save your money. What makes this all the more infuriating is that I did diagnose it myself, there was a broken motor on one of the dampers. $100 and 20 minutes later and everything works fine. The owner, as part of his dismissal, said that our system was out of date and that's why no one knew how to fix it, but the only reason we called Intermountain to begin with is because they are the ones who installed it 10 years ago and left their sticker on the system! Highly Recommend Sleeping Giant HVAC who followed up my own repair with excellent service to get the whole thing in working order.

After hearing all my concerns and ideas, he suggested something that I hadn't thought of and that was a mini split. I had no idea that you could get a system that worked from the outside of the house that both cooled in the summer and heated in the winter in one unit! We ended up not getting the water heater from him, but we did get the mini split, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, and they work very well. Not quite as good maybe, as a forced air system, but certainly better and more quietly that large window air conditioners, which I previously had. What a relief!!
