We purchased our home and the warranty two years ago, and the property was originally built in 2011. Recently, we filed a claim for our oven. A technician assessed the appliance and determined that it needed to be replaced, as it could not be repaired. In response to our claim, the company offered a "cash in lieu of repair" payout of only $75. In what part of the country in 2025 can an oven be replaced for $75? Initially, I assumed this was a mistake, so I contacted customer service and spoke with a supervisor. However, I was informed that this is indeed their policy. I am demanding a full refund for the premiums we have paid, as the company is not providing the coverage it advertises. Furthermore, when I requested to cancel our policy, I was told that we could not do so unless we signed a form accepting the $75 payout. We are not accepting this offer, as it does nothing to resolve the issue. This company is running a deceptive business, collecting monthly payments with no intention of covering legitimate repairs or replacements. They were able to find our policy, and we were told it would take 24 - 48 hours to have someone take a look at it. I wanted to write an update to the is review as I have had additional dealings with the company, all of which were negative and I am happy to say that I have parted ways with this ridiculous company. If you're looking for a home warranty, skip over this one as they are rude, unprofessional, hang up on you, put you on hold for ridiculously long amounts of time, don't communicate, and just tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone with no follow through. As stated in my previous review, a home warranty was purchased for us as part of closing on a new home. We had some issues with the air conditioning, none of which was covered by First Premier. They say they cover everything but they don't. They'll say they will cover your air conditioner, just none of the components inside the air conditioner. This home warranty is useless and a waste of money. We never received any policy documents when we signed up so we weren't aware of what was covered and what wasn't. Upon learning that almost nothing is covered, we promptly cancelled. That may sound all fine and dandy but they tried to scam us on the cancellation. The warranty was purchased for $499 in July 2023 and cancelled in October 2023 and they were only going to give me $18 back. I fought with them and they agreed to refund $300 even though they never sent the policy documents and mistreated me throughout the few months we dealt with them. I spoke with a manager named Todd (who knows if that's his real name because I've spoken with him multiple times and each time he would say a different name). Once we agreed on the $300 he had me sign a document and said that I would receive the $300 check in 30 days from when I sent back the form. I sent back the form in October and didn't receive the payment until March and each time I'd call I'd get a different reason as to why it wasn't sent, sometimes the info would conflict with what a prior agent told me. One agent told me they received the form, another said they didn't. The company is all over the place and is highly unorganized. Basically, it pays back very little money of the actual repair cost if you are lucky. That also you have to wait months and months. So created the claim for refrigerator issue on 23rd Nov 2024. Now the repair man came the one they selected. The first time took just over a month, the second time about a month and a half, and this time, it's been almost 3 months and still nothing. The operators with customer service say they are transferring me to a supervisor or the billing department, but they have no ability to do that (I've been told by other operators) and they just drop my call entirely. When I insisted he look into all of my claims, he said "you are starting to annoy me" when I kept going he said, "you said you're a single mom?" "may I speak to your husband? Where is he?" They don't live up to their agreement, have service providers that don't return calls, don't show up and have terrible ratings. They were great at selling me a policy and taking my money but after that they have lied to me numerous times, told me my check in lieu of a repair would be coming more than ten times and more than 4 months ago. I have never received anything towards a repair. When I call, their customer service is rude and will not let you talk to a manager to help resolve the situation. Every time I call the 1-800 number, it takes a long time to get connected, and the representatives I speak with are not helpful. They keep saying someone will reach out within 24 hours--but I've yet to hear back. It's now been more than 30 days since I submitted the request on July 9, 2025, and today is August 4, 2025. I started the home warranty with them last year. Since the property was new, we didn't have any repairs at the time. When the salesperson contacted me with what seemed like good faith, I renewed the plan. Now, the first time I need support, I'm seeing how poor the service is. I'm just waiting for my contract period to end. I strongly advise others not to be misled by their low prices, as I was. If I don't hear back in two more days, I'll go ahead and pay out-of-pocket for the repair.
