I use Schaefer Enterprises, Inc as my business insurance agency. They have always helped me find the right policies at affordable prices and I honestly never give a second thought to my insurance. UNTIL - Greg Schaefer (the President) suggested I consider renter's insurance. I have lived in NYC for 14 years and did not know a thing about it. Though I don't have a ton of valuables, Greg told me that if anything happened to my apartment or my valuables, I would be covered. It cost so little that I went ahead and signed up. Not even 2 MONTHS LATER, some pipe upstairs broke and I came home to a ruined leather couch and brand new 70 inch Sony LCD TV. I was devastated! And, guess what I learned? - The building is NOT RESPONSIBLE and nor are my upstairs neighbors. This is where renter's insurance kicks in - I got reimbursed for everything! Moral of the story - NYers NEED renter's insurance! And thanks to Schaefer Enterprises, I had it when I needed it. TTYL - I am going to watch TV now ;)

Not only did I never receive a call back, but when I followed up a week later, the receptionist had no record of my prior call because she "didn't have access" to those notes. This business appears to pick and choose which clients or cases they want to deal with, yet can't manage the basic courtesy of informing someone if they are unable or unwilling to help. That is incredibly unprofessional. I was optimistic based on the reviews, but this experience was a complete waste of time. It's 2026--there is no excuse for this level of disorganization and lack of communication.
