The service was cheerful and snappy and the passing life in Ebenezer Place was lively, lots of people seeming to know each other. There was a lot of meeting and greeting around the tiny restaurant entrance. Waiters politely dodged the impediments. Our snails came with proper escargot tongs in the most exquisite garlic and herb butter. The toasty French bread was a bit too crisp to soak up the butter but it was just as well. My friend had Croque Monsieur which was rich and wicked, bechamel sauce and cheese and a fried egg on top . He simply wolfed it down. My boned and butterflied trout with green beans took longer to eat and every morsel was a joy. The trout was nicely charcoal-seared on the skin side and very lightly cooked on top. The tastes and textures sang together in a light buttery sauce from the beans which were not too firm but just right. It was best trout I have ever had and I am still purring with pleasure.

Hey Jupiter is defiantly not like any other breakfast, brunch and lunch café…read more Firstly, the owner is French. Such a lovely accent. * Design and presentation of the café is so different in a unique way, perfect for Adelaide. With bright coloured seats outside and mirrors with gold framing covering the left side of the wall as you walk in. Gives the café a vintage look but then again a unique look in an Adelaide way. * Serving alcohol in drinks and food for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Interesting! * Large selection of meals to choose from. * Large portion size, there should be a sign of guarantee that you will not leave with an empty stomach! * Service was fast & sweet. And sandwiches are AMAZING! I mean when I think about ordering a sandwich outside of home, I think well what's the point really? But arriving at Hey Jupiter and reading the reviews about their sandwiches, made me grab one anyway. I grabbed the Poached Free Range Chicken Breast which should have gave myself some time to breath whilst stuffing it down my mouth! A great combination of flavours and amazing sauces, was impress with the outcome and portion size. I've visited Hey Jupiter twice already and I can only think I'm going to be visiting much more. Thank you for a delicious sandwich experience Jupiter, see you soon!

I'd read like, 8000 reviews about this place whilst I was laid up following surgery to fix my…read moreachilles. I tried to ignore it (ETC) - I couldn't get to the city for breakfast, heck, I struggled getting to the bay (2 min away). But the urge wouldn't go away, I was hungry. Finally, this past Tuesday, after a successful visit with my surgeon, and the banishing of my AirCast Moon-boot forever (whisper it quietly) I did it. I went to ETC. To be honest, It really wasn't what I expected, from the cafe's website, I'd pictured something a little more clean cut, a little more yuppie. To say I was pleasantly suprised by the super comfortable quirky cafe (a big red wall, blackboards, wooden furniture) interior is an understatement. I was stoked, I felt at home. The menu is well set out and easy to read, however actually picking what I wanted was the hardest decision of my life. To put it in perspective, deciding to have surgery on my achilles and put my life in the doctors hands took me less than 4 seconds. Choosing my breakfast from ETC - easily 8+ minutes. I eventually settled for the Big Brekky option, even though it's usually the last thing I would get. I just wanted to try as much as I could (there was actually a solid spread of tomatoes, mushies and spinach on it). I attended with my darling sister (who actually disowned me and referred to me as 'a friend' in her review of ETC - OUCH), who ordered the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Our food was delicious. The service was very friendly, the staff always smiling and circulating the room to clear tables and make sure everything was alright. Everything was sweet, a great comfy cafe, delicious food and good staff. Oh and we only had to wait like 10mins for our meals. What could possibly make it better... A Chocolate milkshake - in a traditional chilled milkshake glass - with a sweeeeeeeeeet rolled paper barbershop style straw. It was delicious. For any place to put this much effort into a chocolate milkshake is ludicrous, but it's also a tipping point that ensured I wouldn't forget my brekky at ETC easily. Five eskimo's.

This place far exceeded my expectations. Staff were very friendly & accommodating, and the…read moreatmosphere was relaxed & casual. I sometimes host Meetup.com events & this was a place that for a reservation of 6 people did not ask me for a holding card or fee (because let's face it, you cannot predict if a sudden circumstance means a person or two can't make it, & the venue could easily fill available seats as its a popular spot). The only draw back of the restaurant was it was a little noisy, making it a little hard to hear the more softly spoken of us). I would suggest some sound proofing, even something simple as one of the ladies accompanying me suggested, such as curtains hung from /draped along the ceiling to reduce echo off the ceiling. However it was still cosy & had such a great atmosphere that this would not deter me in future. On to the breakfast/brunch menu... This was filled with all the regular big breakfast items but with gorgeous gourmet twists... Think smoked salmon & scrambled eggs on toast with Beetroot relish, or tomato & ricotta on toast, or poached eggs on warm garlic yoghurt on toast served with sautéed mushrooms. The other big bonus was the fruits & grains menu options, which were trendy, unusual & sumptuous. I had the fresh ricotta & banana with crushed pistachios & walnuts, drizzled with honey. On to the drinks menu... There were the standard drinks, the slightly unusual or more refined options (think masala chai), and finally more unusual options like the fruit tingle smoothie (sounds odd but was amazing, consisting of orange juice, milk, banana, honey & orange sorbet). I would highly recommend this venue.

Needless to say it has haunted my dreams since, so today after a hard workout my husband and I biked over for lunch. The first thing that strikes you while approaching from Kitchener Street is the lush, inviting covered wrap around porch; there is plentiful and adequately spaced tables located here (so as not to be forced to overhear unwanted convos). Next, upon entering this clean and tidy cottage you will notice three separate distinct seating areas: the main dining area, a smaller dining area tucked away by the kitchen and pastry counter, and a delightful and welcoming covered deck. We were promptly greeted by one of the friendly staff and seated straight away. Tap water, glasses, and menus were waiting at the table and after an appropriate amount of time our order was taken and special requests confirmed. This place is really busy but it seems well managed; the staff is very attentive without being intrusive. As we waited for our order we noticed the bustling and efficient staff who worked like a well oiled machine - dirty dishes were quickly removed from tables, additional carafes of tap water were dropped off without being asked for, and patrons seemed relaxed, very happy, and satisfied. By meals' end we, too, were among those happy people. My husband ordered a sandwich that I struggle to recall the name ;( it was a hearty sandwich made from perfectly toasted sourdough, grilled chicken breast meat, swiss cheese, garlic aioli, a mix of tender and flavourful greens, and crispy bacon. I ordered the smashed avocado with feta on the same delightfully prepared sourdough. It, too, came with a generous portion of greens. We could not be happier with our newfound neighbourhood brekkie place. AND there is a coffee loyalty card to boot!

You couldn't add Kale even though one dish had it and the outdoor area had a strong bad smell. Still the coffee was great and the juice and food was good. It matches very well with the Rustic Loaves and Baguettes. There is a street side cabinet full of premade baguettes, cakes and hot pastries that temp the eyes and noses as you walk past, then add a dash of coffee aromas MMMMM. I chose a made to order BBQ Pork Baguette. Well.. just the bread OH MY so tasty, earthy, some of the best I've tasted. the fillings were fresh and tasty (pork, brie, lettuce mustard) well worth the price. Along with that I had a very pleasant cup of Flat White.. Especially with the warmer weather coming, I can see me eating more stuff from Taste...

I have given them five stars for their outstanding, friendly and keen service - even though that day they were just trying to get their name out by giving their goods away for free. Thats Right - I had a coffee and an apricot pastry (my god it was amazing) and a delicious brownie, FOR FREE. What a bunch of champs. I'm assuming it isn't free anymore - but who knows? I haven't been in Rundle street for a couple of weeks. From what I tasted, the coffee was great and the food was delicious. The decor is new and funky. The staff were really friendly, smiley and eager to please. Has great potential but as I said, I haven't been here since they have started charging for food, so I'm not sure about price etc. With so many restaurants, this is a great new option for lunch/coffee in the East End!!
