Friend and helpful staff. Never that busy inside so it's always pretty fast. No complaintsread more

We visited the Sisters branch of the Mid Oregon Credit Union today to open an account and I found…read moreour reception most interesting. From the moment a friendly teller turned us over to an associate the entire experience was amazingly adversarial; it was as though this person deemed themselves a gatekeeper of some sort and had been deemed unworthy. What we thought would be a simple process of opening an account never got that far. Rather for 10 minutes we were quizzed, rather bluntly, about our reasons for wanting to open an account with Mid Oregon and our responses challenged. Rather than welcoming our business we were asked about any other banking relationships, why we were changing banks, whether we would use their credit card, our expected account balance and generally just how much business we would be doing with Mid Oregon. When I explained that we were changing banks because Mid Oregon offered superior service in an area that was important to us we were greeted additional questions about our finances and for some reason told about Mid Oregon's fee schedule associated with dormant accounts. When we explained that our current bank did not offer the service we needed our interrogator actually called our bank, while we were sitting there, to see if we were correct! When we were asked to defend our use of national financial institutions to address part of our financial services needs we gave up and left. By the way, for a credit union Mid Oregon has quite the fee schedule; they charge for everything. Take a look; here is even $10 fee to be a member. Their interest rates are dismal as well; less than 1% for a checking account with a minimum $2500 balance.

Tried to park in the on-point lot at 5:15pm and was stopped by this guy who said you can't park…read moreuntil 6pm. Okay, the guy doesn't know his job because the signs actually say 6:30. So I really didn't have a right to park there, but I find it comical that the back pays a guy to park in their lot just to yell people they can't park in the lot. Come on On-point. This is Bend and it is Friday night..

Sad to report about this business…read more What do they do well? Easy setup of accounts! Redmond branch has nice employees. They seemed like they would genuinely help us when my daughter had fraud committed on her account. Opportunities for improvement Calling them for anything is rough. I've been on hold a ton. The fraud department is the absolute worst!! They are hard to understand and they often cannot help after waiting a long time!!!! And they tell you you will get a letter but they freeze your accounts. Long story shortened. 18 year old daughter... very independent but not wise. She got tricked into opening a link through an email. And the following month got hacked on an app she hasn't used in years. We reported to them as soon as she told me about it. They drained all of her funds. Over $2200 from savings which took her several years to save for a car!!!! And $250 in babysitting money in her checking. Then they canceled her debit card and froze her account for 2 full months while they investigated. Then they credit her back the funds and say that it is a temporary decision but she is still not allowed to add a new check to her accounts. Then a few weeks later they say "we have confirmed the transaction was authorized or initiated by you therefore you are liable". So a hacker stole around $2500 from her and they decided it was her fault for using the cash app on her phone a few years ago.
