They completed the work and within one year our driveway collapsed. I had to invest an additional $22,000 to repair the collapsed portions of the driveway. Here we are 6 years later and we have weeds growing up inbetween all of the pavers. A total disaster. I confronted the son about this at the time and he refused to do the work stating that it was his dads job even though we had a signed contract. When I confronted the son, just weeks after the original installation, he said that his company isn't Fermin that that was his dads company and refused to honor the defective work. My mistake was not to insist on the younger son to do the work. Again, a total disaster.... good luck if you get him to do any work.

Frances and her crew were always punctual, responsible, skillful, considerate and professional. They were able to accomplish all we asked for. Asked Oscar to repair a small retaining wall next to the driveway that had a short bulging section…read morecaused by tree roots. In addition, fix the broken concrete at the driveway curb. The fix for the wall was to dig out the soil next to the bowed section, cut back the roots and push the section back into alignment with the rest of the wall, then backfill the dirt. This was in lieu of rebuilding the wall section using new but mismatching cinder blocks. The curb fix involved breaking out the old concrete and replacing with two large rubber curb ramps. The final result ended up very good as can be seen in the photos. There were some snags along the way so this should be a 4.5 star review. Any customer should work closely with Oscar and any hired subcontractor and be present on site or check frequently while the work is being done.

They originally installed the drainage PVC pipe way too high and piled the dirt to high up on the side of the wall so moisture and water was leaking into the house causing wood floors to buckle. This disaster occured during this past 2022-2023 historic rainy season. Aguilar's Landscaping came in and gave me a very competitive bid and did the job superbly. Third Heaven Review…read more This review is long overdue - Third Heaven began two of our projects during COVID-19. Both our projects were completed by July 2023. In March of 2022, our first project with Third Heaven was to lay a concrete pad for an Endless Pool, install the stone skirting and pavers around the pool, along with other details. It was a huge job in which Juan Carlos Marquez and his team had to work with the pool installer/contractor (separate from Third Heaven) who was NOT as dependable and easy to work with as Third Heaven and Juan Carlos. Nevertheless, Juan Carlos was patient and diplomatic as well as efficient and flexible as he met every challenge the job presented. The results were fantastic! In February of 2023, our second project was the landscaping of the rest of our yard. I had a design in mind to which Juan Carlos was very attentive and kindly made suggestions that helped significantly. He was very forthcoming with prices and affordability as well as keeping us informed of material delays. He was also very patient with me as I asked questions and presented ideas about details I hadn't thought about during the planning process. Here are the highlights that would be very important to me if I needed to find a landscaper (which I don't - I'm hooked on Third Heaven Landscaping :)) Dependable and Honest - Juan Carlos, Third Heaven's owner is true to his word. To me this is invaluable when dealing with any professional. I knew what to expect and when to expect it. He is friendly, amicable, diplomatic, considerate, and very dependable. When there were delays, he let me know as soon as he knew. We never heard excuses or felt deceived. The team he had working on our property was also very dependable and professional. Listens - Juan Carlos listened to my plan and offered helpful suggestions. I was never put off if I wanted to do things my way, nor did I feel he resented me "sticking to my guns". He enabled me to appreciate him making points if he thought one of my ideas might not work. However, he was interested in making sure I was happy with the outcome; of which I undeniably delighted!! Good Ideas - Juan Carlos made suggestions that were helpful. For example, I went with a composite bark for ground cover after he brought me some bark samples. The composite really DID look natural and was considerably less expensive. Also, I had some stepping- stones from my yard that I wanted to use in my rose garden - but couldn't figure out the layout. One of the Third Heaven team members laid them out perfectly. Putting lights in our patio and pool steps was also a brilliant suggestion. I am especially grateful when I have to go out and check on things after dark - much safer than a flashlight and so much prettier! There were a lot of little details which the Third Heaven team and Juan Carlos enhanced the aesthetics of my garden. Accommodates Schedules - Juan Carlos worked with and around COVID-19 and contractor issues, our work schedules, personal events, and travel schedules. He did all that he could to make sure that we were comfortable with what was on the schedule. Follows Up - In all things, Juan Carlos followed up on all arrangements and contract obligations. We appreciate that he did many check-ins to make sure we were happy with the finished project. Of the three, Carlos was the ONLY one who kept his appointment and returned a bid quickly. After receiving his bid, we pondered the idea of a pool renovation instead of demo. Carlos had followed up with us and inquiring if we wanted to move forward with the demo. I had mentioned to Carlos we were now entertaining the idea of a renovation. He was understanding and asked us to contact him if we made a decision to go the demo route. This past week, Carlos followed up with us. Although we had decided days before to go with the pool renovation, I was very impressed with Carlos, his responsiveness, and his customer service. Although we can't speak to the actual demolition experience, I can say Carlos and his company deserves high regards for what has been previously mentioned.

He and his team did a great job in the sewer replacement. They came early on the days of the job and work diligently to complete the work. It was a pretty extensive job, digging two holes, one on the street, one on my property, then SDR 17 pipe was pulled from my property to the main. The Seaside city required the work to include paving the street with 20 ft by 10 ft asphalts to covered the hole on the street. That had took the whole day, but it was beautifully done. The material and amount of work required was actually more than the estimate, but Carlos stuck with the price of the bid. I really appreciate Carlos work ethic. I had worked with several contractors and they had all charged me additional cost on top of the bids. I would recommand Carlos for his professionalism, great communication and honesty.
