She was very kind and most patient with me above and beyond the call of duty. Chelsea has been righteously helpful to me on previous occasions as well, as well as every other employee that I have met at this branch. On another occasion sometime back, I had an interesting conversation with branch manager Scott Disney. I'm not sure, but I think he is still there. Believe it or not, he is related to Walt Disney! And so, we had an interesting conversation about his famous relative for several minutes. My point is that my experience with Washington Federal has been good over the past four years, at both the Crossroads(my home branch), and Bel-Red branches. I originally signed up with Washington Federal in 2012, because they do not charge monthly fees on my checking account, unlike the previous bank that I had been with since 1984.

This location happens to be pretty indescript and hidden out of sight. Though I think it would have more foot traffic since it is across from the Bellevue Transit Center and Bellevue City Hall. Interestingly though, I did not find any other customers here when I went during the lunch hour one day. This location also serves the Microsoft workers in the complex along with those Neiman Marcus shoppers needing cash because of the ridiculous credit card policy (no MasterCard/Visa, only Amex or Neiman Marcus). Not particularly a fan of B of A given my troubles with the overall service to my mortgage, but I have to say this is a pretty good location. Counter service was friendly and I like that it is less crowded. Plus I get to walk past the Wild Ginger street vent (smells like Asian Fusion!) to get here from my office.

I made my withdrawal outside at the front ATM and I walked by the drive thru, no cars were there it was just me, I remember I was able to make a quick exchange to smaller bills during pandemic and the person who was there was able to do it for me, take note there were No cars, I was just about To approach him and ask him if I could do the same but while I was just speaking and in the middle of a few Words he rudely interrupted me , he did not even say "I'm sorry but" he just went on and said it in a rude way and cut me off a few times, when I was trying to ask a question twice he rudely interrupted me again and wasn't even allowing me to finish my sentences, so I asked him what his name was since he wasn't wearing a name tag and his name wasn't on the front desk too, he seemed irritated and preoccupied but I was the only customer, I then told Anthony twice" that next time if you need to say something to a customer , say it in a polite way, " and do you know what his answer was? He just said "yeah okay" then I told him treat me like a customer then he said "okay" he never said sorry for his behavior and the manner he talked to me. I am so disappointed, is this how you train your employees for customer service? Is this how they talk to customers, he was talking to me like he had no respect for any customer, the way he answered, his demeanor, everything was completely off. I normally have positive experiences in Capital One Cafes (I love love love the Seattle location!)…read morebut this one left a very poor impression. The location is decent - right in the heart of Bellevue near Bellevue Square / Lincoln Square, so it makes sense this cafe is also busy. Also, I went here Monday for the free coffee for the MLB Mondays so I expected a bit of a wait. But I did not expect a 1 hour wait at 7pm when they close at 9pm, and there were maybe 15 people ahead of me (unsurprisingly, in this economy, people go to great lengths, myself included, for freebies even though coffee this late at night is going to absolutely destroy my sleep) But the issue is less of the crowds. Seattle location had much more people in line, yet the baristas are pumping out drink after drink about one minute a drink. The analogy I can give is a well-oiled machine. Even in the early afternoons in Seattle, 35 people in front of me, less than 30 minutes wait. The staff here need a bit more training, to be honest. It is similarly 1-2 people working and 1 person taking the order, but somehow this location is 3x less efficient? Seating wise, this place is frankly a bit too small. I get Seattle one is large due to larger foot traffic, but Bellevue isn't a small town either. There is a second floor but like half as much seating, so even at 7pm, it was quite hard to find a clean table. I got the iced blueberry ube latte with an extra espresso shot. The drink itself was decent, but I did not taste any ube or blueberry (it was much more fragrant in the matcha one) so maybe the coffee drowned out the flavors quite significantly or they were skimping on ingredients in this location. I ended up just saving almost the entire drink for the next morning, however. I gave an extra star for the general generosity of Capital One and free coffee, but I certainly would not pay what was $10.50 for this drink at all if the quality is the same as that on a normal day.

I've never given such a bad rating to any institution before, and it's safe to say that WAMU, BofA also fit into this category. The customer service at this bank is nearly as bad as Washington Mutual and B of A. I don't care how many clever marketing campaigns and feel-good advertising spots I hear/see, Wells Fargo doesn't let you spend the money that you deposit into their bank unless certain facist-like critera have been met. Additionally with the new "terror" clauses even more of our rights have been taken away and banks are eager to CASH IN on this by simply stating that it's part of the "Patriot Act". People this is simply bull. Through no fault of my own, Wells Fargo rejected a very large paycheck of mine coming from an account that had millions in it. As a result I had so many bounced checks that I lost count. They refused to pay them. I am still fighting with them about this. They are saying my employer should pay them, when WF is the only institution that has rejected the check in the first place. While I think this issue will get resolved through enough kicking and screaming, the default for Wells Fargo is to STIFF THE CUSTOMER. I know, I know... this is big bank business, but you should know that the convenience of their online checking and services is far outweighed by the consistent rejection of good large checks all written from different sources. I will be closing my account with them this week. It's time to start my own barter system and my own currency. Anyone want to join me?

Then the customer service: I don't know if it's because the California branches (in Davis and Berkeley) are so much more efficient, but they were so slow here. It took about 45 minutes to accomplish 2 tasks: close my accounts, and getting a cashier's check. I really think they can get rid of some staff if they were more efficient about what they do. I miss my California bankers :(
