Ignoring residents is their specialty. First Community Management (FCM) employees consistently dismisses their responsibilities and have no one to hold them accountable. This is applicable to 3 out of 3 employees I've dealt with, which either reflects FCM's culture set by Mr. Michael Rutkowski, the President, and / or Ms. Ann Miller, the Senior Community Manager for my building.
On Christmas 2016 the garage door again wouldn't open. I called the afterhours call center and was told that I would receive a call back regarding the arrival time of the repair person. I never received a phone call even after calling the call center for 2nd time. It took ~2 hours for the repair service to arrive and I missed Christmas dinner. Per Ms. Miller when a prior afterhours call was made, she receives a list of the calls the next day and is responsible for contacting the tenant on the issue. Based on experiences to date, it wasn't a surprise that I never heard from Ms. Miller or anyone with FMC. When I addressed the issue with Ms. Miller in an email comprised of several issues that weren't addressed, her response was, "I hope you have a great holiday and the garage door cooperates for you this year." Seriously?!? I have no appreciation for Ms. Miller's cavalier attitude and lack of ownership.
After not receiving responses from FMC on several issues throughout the years, I contacted FMC on 12/19/17:
1. I notified Ms. Miller on 5/16/17 that my balcony windows weren't cleaned by the window washers. Ms. Miller never responded. After following up, Ms. Miller's 12/22/17 response was that she should have responded that the window washers were coming back the next day. If it was true that the window washers came back the next day, it's irrelevant because they didn't clean my balcony windows.
2. I notified Ms. Abby Reynolds on 10/15/17 that I needed keys to my mailbox and the storage room. Ms. Reynolds never responded. Ms. Miller's 12/22/17 response was, "I touched base with Abby and she confirmed she had not responded to any of the attached emails, either because she needed to get some information from me and forgot to follow up or she didn't realize a response was needed." I don't know which excuse applies to this poor customer service scenario. NOTE: I still haven't received a response and still don't have keys. My mail is being returned and FMC is preventing me access to my property in the storage room.
3. I notified Ms. Reynolds on 3/24/17 that the plumbers didn't show up for the appointment scheduled by FMC due to loud noises coming from the building pipes.
4. On 10/1917 I asked Ms. Reynolds via email if FMC had given Everywhere Wireless my email address. Everywhere Wireless is the Wi-Fi company that FMC promoted in the building, yet I hadn't signed up for their Wi-Fi service and never gave this company my email address. Ms. Reynolds never responded. Ms. Miller's 12/22/17 response was, "I touched base with Abby and she confirmed she had not responded to any of the attached emails, either because she needed to get some information from me and forgot to follow up or she didn't realize a response was needed." I don't know which excuse applies to this poor customer service scenario and potential breach of sharing my personal contact information, which coincidentally was after Everywhere Wireless was promoted to the residents.
Everywhere Wireless employees were allowed to roam the building and leave promotional materials at residents' doors. When I contacted Ms. Miller with the security concern of non-residents wandering unaccompanied in the building, her response was to notify Everywhere Wireless not to leave their materials at my door. It was an interesting response since delivery people are supposed to be met at the front door and escorted in the building. NOTE: I have never received a response to my inquiry if FMC gave Everywhere Wireless my personal email address.
FCM's negligence in responding is not new and Ms. Miller has operated with extreme prejudice in the past. While FMC's on-going poor service isn't a surprise, it's not acceptable and there's no reason to hire this company. read more
