I've asked several neighbors who they banked with and if they were happy with the service. There were many complaints about many banks, First Citizens Bank was mentioned by several neighbors who raved about them. Things like seeing familiar faces for years at the branches, to good feedback on interactions with staff, phone call center employees and mobile / web banking. We researched continued our research and First Citizens Bank kept popping up with good feedback. So we took the plunge. We went into the Lexington branch on W. Main St. (near Food Lion and the Lexington 29071 post office). We were greeted by a very nice teller who asked how she could help us. We told her we were there to open a new account. A gentleman came out of the office and introduced himself as Garrison Graham. Garrison was great. Super nice, funny, knowledgeable, patient and a pleasure to work with. We were very pleased with the competitive products FCB offers. We opened a checking and a savings account. Garrison was a full service, customer satisfaction oriented professional. He set up the accounts, provided all the necessary checks and deposit slips, explained the process for direct deposits and electronic transfers. He also set us up with the mobile app and online banking. We'll surely stop to say hello to Garrison each time in the branch. Everyone there are just those kind of people. Genuinely nice and make you feel like a valued customer they've known forever. If you stop in for anything other than teller services, ask for Garrison tell him we sent you! If you're looking for a new bank to hold your fortune or just your daily banking needs, FCB was at the top of our list, check em out. Me highly recommend First Citizens Bank

So, we're new to the area and we're looking for a local financial institution. One of the things we…read morewere looking for was a bank that has coin machines available for its customers. We always have pocket change, that we dump into a small jar at home and it fills up quick. The credit union back where we can from had one at every branch. We appreciated that as that change adds up quick. Palmetto Citizens FCU has those machines available and we appreciate that. We opened our accounts online on the PCFCU website. The process was pretty straight forward. The hardest part was taking a well lighted photo of our drivers licenses for upload. The most time consuming part of this process was the security holograms that would make the photos less than useful. After several attempts and adjusting the lighting, problem solved and uploads were successful. Minus the photo upload issue, the whole process took minutes. One other issue arose when trying to set up the online banking on their website. My setup was quick and easy. My wife's however we hit an obstacle due to an email address issue. We received a prompt onscreen to call the bank to complete the online banking setup. A quick phone call and the issue was resolved. The representative we spoke to on the phone was polite, patient, knowledgeable and super friendly. She stayed on the phone and walked us through the problem click by click. We also learned from her that in order to add a joint account holder to the account, we must go into a branch to do that. We will take care of that tomorrow. And update the review if needed. The minimum balances to open accounts were very reasonable so we opened two savings accounts and a checking account. We're excited to be settling in the Midlands.

Either I'm told to come in or no I can't do this or something else. Second of all the doors are extremely heavy and are very the hard to open for some in a wheelchair. This bank is about horrible. I hate the fact I'm trapped.

I have banked with Safe Federal Credit Union for 30 years - literally my entire life…read more Unfortunately, the bank no longer holds the standards of customer service and loyalty that I grew accustomed to. I have a myriad of minor complaints, such as poor phone availability/systems, lack of modern integration, etc. But most recently they charged me over $500 in overdraft fees without ever notifying me that it was happening (I was already transitioning away from using SAFE and was under the impression no one was still making charges to that account - some companies had failed to properly change my payment information, however). I never received a call/voicemail (they claim it is not their practice to call customers for matters like this??? Tell me how that makes sense.) or a single letter. They give me a bunch of dates where they claim to have sent letters, but I received nothing. Their response was basically "not our problem, pay up." After seeking legal counsel and speaking with employees of other banks I have learned that it is standard practice - although not the law - for banks to stop charging you fees like this long before reaching an amount like $500, ESPECIALLY if they have been unable to get in touch with you. What SAFE did in this situation is nothing short of predatory, and I will be filing a formal complaint with SAFE and the National Credit Union Administration. It makes me very sad to see that SAFE has fallen so far. I recommend new customers stay away and existing customers close their accounts and take their business to someone who actually cares about their members, like CPM Federal Credit Union, who have been excellent to me.

We used their services a few times over the past year for shared banking services. Their customer service is always very helpful and professional. The facility is always very clean and well maintained to the highest standard.
