Unprofessional, rude, uncooperative. Stay away…read more Please be patient with this review, as context is important. I have sleep apnea, untreatable by CPAP. My medical doctor recommended an appliance that you wear at night, like a retainer, that adjusts your jaw forward to open air passages. It is prescribed as medical, but has to be fulfilled by a dentist. My dentist is not able to bill medical and referred me to DHS. When I called, they made an appointment to see the dentist. I assumed it would be for a fitting, but she said it was to 'check my mouth." Seemed like a waste of time for both of us, but OK. When I got there we talked about the device, and recommended I waited until he got the approval from medical. I validated that I had all the correct paperwork, and a recent sleep study and X-rays. This conversation could all be done by phone, but, again, OK. Then he said that as long as I was there he might as well take a look at my mouth. I told him I already had a dentist I was happy with, and was just here for the appliance. The next day I got a call from his office. The doctor said this was "not a good doctor patient fit, "and that I should go elsewhere. Elsewhere not to include any of the other DHS offices. I was floored. I asked why, and she kept repeating the phrase over and over again, "not a good doctor patient fit." I asked if I had something, if he didn't have time, if he preferred I move all dental business to that office. Do you call that a satisfactory answer? After 3 days of searching for another un-network dental office that could make the device and bill medical, I finally found one. All of their requirements need to be done online. I emailed DHS to ask if they would forward all the info they got from my doctor to me. No response.the next day I repeated the request - no response. Then I asked if they would do me the courtesy of at least respond whether they could or could not. Rude, unprofessional, uncooperative. Those are the three words that first pop into my mind.I still have no idea what the problem was. I don't know what their standard density practices are like, but this is not a business I would entrust my teeth with.

He has the highest skill level for technique and results. He is thorough and comprehensive in his examination and treatment. At first I was like, "wait, what? I've been getting regular care right along- how can there be so many issues that need to be addressed?" And then he started fixing them and I was like, wow, so that's how my mouth could have, (and should have been)! I've always feared and dreaded the front teeth upper gum and pallet novacaine shot, because it's a lot worse than a "pinch." But not with Dr. Jon. His technique gave me more of a slow pressure, not a painful pinch, which amazed me. And somehow he dialed in the exact amount- I had no pain at all, yet when I was done, my upper lip and nose didn't feel like I'd been punched, there was just a slight tingle that went away very shortly. The office staff is also great- appointments were handled with skill, multiple options, and accuracy. I am always greeted with warmth and friendliness, especially by Kayla. I'm just guessing here, but there might be a rule that only nice, pretty women are allowed to work there, I'm joking yet it seems to fit the observable facts. I am very glad I switched, my only hesitation in writing this review is that he'll get even more busy and it will be tougher to find an opening in the future... Still, my highest recommendation.

My mom's 18th birthday present back in the day was a full set of upper dentures. I have an older sibling who has dentures. Ugh. So I sucked it up and headed here upon the recommendation of my dentist to increase the upkeep on my still kinda pearly Irish chompers. Dr. Joe is a really nice guy. I did some research on him and found out he went to Harvard, which, if you mention it, he waves away as though it's nothing. He and his staff were very careful to explain everything that was going on, and what I needed to have done, while tedious, was not bad at all to deal with. They are great about keeping on you about checking in with how you are doing as you heal up. Other than it seems like most patients I've seen are at least 20 years older than me, and are being picked up after their appointments by their children while I can still drive, I am adjusting to the fact that there is no shame to getting some additional dental help. It's even kind of cute seeing all these who are around the age my parents would be if they were still around.

I require two annual regular cleanings plus two annual perio cleanings, alternated every three months. Last year I was told that my regular cleaner was now booked for almost a year out so my regular schedule was no longer definite, so I was scheduled two months later with a "substitute" and had to move my perio cleaning forward to accommodate this. I had never had a problem with my perio cleanings, being scheduled every six months. As to my regular cleanings, today (April 8, 2025) might have been the last straw, and I am not heartless, but my regular cleaner cancelled our appointment while I was in transit (an hour trip through detours and roadwork) and I was told on arrival that my next regular cleaning could be scheduled with a "substitute" in June. I then had to cancel my perio cleaning for June, and, long story shorter, I am not at all happy. Turns out my perio cleaner is also fully booked, so good luck me. This is wasting my time, complicating my schedule and I find being put on their wait list for cancellations to be a joke. Someone always beats me to it.

First off, we have to drive over 50 minutes to reach this location but they scheduled the appointment at 730am. This meant we had to get the infant up at slightly after 530 in the morning to get to the appointment through rush hour traffic. Apparently they didn't read our address when planning this appointment. Second, although the place was CLOSED when we arrived at 715am, they unlocked the doors for us and we waited....AND WAITED. We were not even called into the operation room until 755am! They seemed completely unprepared or unready to do what was obviously their first appointment of the day? The nurse did not even attempt to introduce herself to my child. The workers were friendly enough to me as an adult, but I am sure my child was scared not knowing who these people were after having been woken up in the darkness and then made to wait in a waiting room for an extra 25 minutes. Anyway, my child would not cooperate so the dentist did nothing but refer us to another dentist, costing us a night's sleep and 70 miles in gas. He referred us to a dentist on the other side of Madison WHO IS NOT ON OUR INSURANCE PLAN! So I had to find another dentist myself and pay for another exam out of pocket and drive on another goose chase trip. I would not go back to a place that has such problems dealing with a child who needs a filling when they claim to be pediatric specialists, they were anything but special. If my child had been in an accident and needed her jaw replaced and 12 veneers and a tongue reconstruction, I would be more understanding but this is a FILLING which is an absolutely standard procedure and if you are a pediatric specialist I expect you to be able to perform this operation perfectly on the first try and certainly not refer me to an out of network dentist when you cannot.
