I was a client of this company , not a worker. The owner is not professional at all. Started off…read morewith employees not showing up, no call/ no show, workers not coming on time and sometimes the family have to call the owner to let her know a worker didn't show up for work and she didn't even know and have to find out what's going on and it doesn't be just one . A worker who we the family had to release because work ethics was still on the payroll for months and came from employees own mouth didn't even know they were still on the payroll. Owner states it' was the family responsibly to make sure we have coverage when a employee doesn't show up for work when ever she attempts to get a replacement , never has someone and the family has to pay out of pocket each time to find someone. With the Covid going on now, I tried to explain to the owner that we as a family (speaking of the care giver for mom ;the same employee , we have given a second chance to care for our mom and had to release and change company , but her work ethics didn't change but got worse always calling out every other week ) Plus her continued to having social gatherings and we as a family are concern . The owner didn't show any concerns of her own about our elderly mom health and advise me that no problem she will be ending the employee service as of today and I have a good day not that she understands my concerns of my (91) year old mother contracting Covid-19. Virginia numbers going up more and more everyday, I guess if it's not your mom you not worry about it . The nursing home with availability was very unfavorable so we were referred to Next Consulting (Tom) for care options and he suggested a residential care home which we were not very familiar with. To gave us several options with availability so we chose Sunflowers Caring Hands because if the location and they had room for one more resident. We set up a mtg with Andrea (owner) who is wonderful and she gave us a tour and went to hospital to meet and assess mom. The transition from the hospital was flawless and smooth. Let me tell you that this place was a blessing waiting for mom. They provide the best care that she could ever get, and she deserves it. They treat the residents and their families like their own family...it is a home away from home. Mom was able to get her PT and OT setup and did not have to go offsit. They have a servicing physician if/when needed that provides all medical needs, tests, well checks, blood work etc. The home is always clean; the residents are well fed, they continuously loved and nurtured and get the best personalized care 24/7. The home is full of love? They have all become our extended family.

My grandmother was hesitant because she is used to her home, but she needed to downsize and be able to socialize. Shawn (Director) put my grandmother at ease by telling her that she had 30 days to change her mind. After that, she went ahead and moved in. I loved this place for her. It's not that diverse, but the people are nice for the most part. My grandmother just didn't like it. She didn't really give it a chance because at week 2, she was ready to leave. I was sad about it, but I couldn't force her to stay. Shawn understood and we moved her out. The only issue I had was after we moved her out, they took $3000+ out of her account that they weren't supposed to. That caused an issue with her bills & I brought that to Shawn's attention immediately. She apologized & said she'd send a paper check. It's costs A LOT to live here, but they have independent living and assisted living available. They are clean, they have activities, they have 1 meal daily included in the monthly rent, and it's a the staff is friendly for the most part. I wish she would've stayed.

I was in the hospital…read moresobbing because none of the independent aide companies or caregivers I had been calling for weeks came to fruition A woman from a hospice care company gave me Senora's card, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith, the owners, were at the rehab center within an hour meeting me and my dad and working on a match for him--no easy task I assure you. By the end of the day, they had found a wonderful aide who my curmudgeonly father has warmed right up to and who was there waiting for him when he got home the next day. You will be delighted with their services. They check on their aides often, are always available, and are very flexible in terms of unusual hours or requests that you may have.
