I've used these guys three times over last 10 years or so. For 2 of them, ocks hit windshields, it happens. Both times, they coordinated with insurance, did the work at my location, super easy scheduling and work done. For the other time, back glass got broken, and I paid for that one out of pocket. It was a job that had a paint scratch involved, so I got a quote from one of those nationwide body shop type places. First calls cost out of pocket was just about exactly half of what the "big" place wanted. And less hassle. This shop was recommended to me for my daughter's Toyota 4Runner window which was off its track and would not stay rolled up. Our regular repair shop had her vehicle for 2 days, could not fix it and still charged us around $67. 11 year later we used First Call again to replace a very cracked windshield in a fancy electric vehicle with a complicated sensor system. It took a few hours but they did a great job. This was my 6th and shouldve been my first. ARG sent me. Called at noon they called back in 30 mins saying they got windshield on order can get you in at 2-4pm. Didn't expect it to be so quick and was up in LA so had to crunch 4pm. Got it there, they got it done and i just said if it needs wipers go ahead n do em. They do have competitive pricing (safelite was 310 for just the windshield and 390 with 81 off so 309 for free wipers.) i just paid what they said as they were the only ones able to do it. read more

If you don't go here, I feel sorry for you. This is a perfect five star business. I was driving on the freeway, and my window was hit by a rock. The OEM windows for Toyota Prius's are absolute trash. I can't imagine going anywhere other than the first call. Betty and her team are amazing. They consistently have gone out of their way for me. They calibrate the lane departure free of charge. They have a comfortable waiting room, offered me a beer, coffee and the place is amazing. No, they did not pay for this review. I just support small business, and I love to see a well run business. Lastly, for me my car transports the most valuable things in my life. My wife, and my two kids. There's nothing that I wouldn't pay for their safety. The windshield is critical. Totally failed to meet their own timeframe to replace my window. The customer service team is great and tries to resolve issues, but it's clear their owner Pats ego or lack of understanding the importance of conflict resolution made a simple situation very stressful. In short I came into replace a broken window needing it in a required time frame. Time frame elapsed and I get told it's their vendors fault and they do it all the time. However no one even attempted to call and inform me of this until after our agreed lead time had passed and I was forced to call repeatedly to get any clarity to new time frames. Ultimately I went in for a new window and left with a piece of plywood with holes in it! The owner Pat literally just walked away from me when I said hey, can you at least fill these HOLES IN THE WOOD you are charging me for? To which he got visibly mad and raised his voice saying "we spent three hours on that". Okay, doesn't meant I should accept or be expected to be happy with your service and your plywood window with holes!? Then he just aggressively walked back to his office (behind mirrored tint) threw his hands up in the air and told one of his technicians he couldn't handle this guy (a paying customer who's had to call repeatedly and get changing information) and left me standing at his warehouse door. Bottom line here is they dropped the ball with terrible communication, poor quality management of their wooden solution and then the infantile interaction with the owner Pat. I'm sure they're good at tints and windshields. I'd just never trust this company again for anything and based on how I was treated (not by the service team) the owner I think he could use a lesson in how to better take ownership of his responsibilities / communication and quality control. $150 for a used plywood window with holes. Says enough. Maybe next time Pat, send the window to a vendor who meets the expectations you set for your company and don't blame them, or get mad at your client because you overcommitted and then didn't communicate while being rude and charging me for a piece of wood with holes. My experience at First Call was an absolute nightmare. I've noticed most of the positive reviews are through insurance claims. I wonder if people would have different experiences paying out of pocket. Between my experince working on vehicles in the Marine Corps, working on my own classic cars, and moonlighting at a local hot rod shop, I know what goes into quality automotive work. I brought my 1965 Ford Falcon in, and spoke to the owner, Pat, about replacing the weather seals on all of the windows, Pat told me to order the rubber parts and let him know when they arrived to schedule an appointment. He told me to order from Steele Rubber, because he said they were the best in the business. After the new rubber parts arrived, I took my car to Pat and had him inspect everything. He said the parts were all good, and estimated me $700-$1,000 in labor. After spending $1,100 in parts alone, I wanted a professional glass shop to install the rubber, because I knew if I made a mistake installing it myself the rubber would need to be ripped out and reordered. So I accepted Pat's estimate and left my car and the new parts with him. After having the car for about a week, Pat told me it was ready to go, and charged me $900, which was perfectly in-line with his estimate. I picked up the car that night, paid, and immediately noticed a loud whistle coming from the vent windows on the drive home. I texted Pat about it, and he said they should have test drove the car, and to bring it back the next day for them to fix. I dropped it back off the next day. After about another week, I was told the car was ready to get picked up, but there were some issues. I was told it was still leaking water down the A-pillars where the vent window frames met the rubber. They didn't know why it was still leaking, and blamed both the rubber (that they recommended and inspected), and said my doors might not be aligned (they're fine). When I went to pick it up the second time, they added extra foam to the leaking area in an attempt to seal up the leaks. Their tech had me sit in the car while he water tested it with a hose. Within about 30sec, water was not only leaking from where they said, but also through the vent window seals, and in multiple locations along the top of the windows. The car now leaked worse then when I brought it to them. Pat wasn't there at this time, and his tech told me to contact Pat the following week to figure out where to go from here. I called Pat a few days later and asked him what the best course of action was. He said he didn't want to keep wasting labor hours trying to fix my car, and offered to give some of my labor cost back. He offered $500, and I told him I would need the full $900 back. I understood that I was TECHNICALLY responsible for the $1,100 in parts, but I now have a car that is worse than when I brought it, so I will need a full refund of the $900 in labor. Pat started yelling and cursing at me over the phone, saying that I didn't value his work, and I don't know what I'm talking about because I don't work on cars. (Even though I was referred to him by the shop I literally do work for.) I tried to reason with Pat, but he just kept yelling at me, said if I didn't like his $500 offer then I can sue him, and hung up on me. I let things cool off for a few days, then showed up at First Call in person to try to come to an acceptable compromise. I didn't think it was worth all of the hassle of going through court, and offered to compromise at a $600 refund. Pat just kept saying $500 or sue him. I continued to try to reason with Pat as he called me names, cursed me out, and told me I don't know what I'm talking about. After taking quite the abusive chewing out, he finally pulled $600 in cash out of his pocket, slammed it in my hand, and told me to never call him again. After all of this, I still have a car that leaks worse than when I started. After my awful experience, the shop I work for has stopped doing business with First Call also.
