A year after the close of escrow we were notified by the county that we owed them $23000 including interest and penalties which would increase until paid,, It turned out that Pam had both my title as the seller and the amount I paid for taxes incorrect. After several unsuccessful attempts to get her to correct the errors my daughter and i went to Maui to see Pam. Pam consulted with her office staff and realized they had sent this as an irrevocable trust instead as a revocable trust. She changed this, but we still had problems because the county demanded the copy of the check paid. Pam reported the amount paid as $22000 when the check showed clearly that it was $22500 actually paid. Pam corrected this but the corrected copy Pam sent me now showed the sale to be in 2018. Pam had a flimsy excuse for this error. Her final copy showed the $22500 crossed out and $22000 written in the margin. i could not get through to Pam that this would not be acceptable the tax board, She said she had to consult with her accountant and later her excuse was she had to consult with her attorney. Long story short, we never got an official corrected copy and are still dealing with Maui regarding this issue. This has been very stressful and Pam who could have easily corrected everything was cavilier and totally unconcerned.

The transaction was handled professionally and calmly with attention to detail, and our house sold in a very short period of time in the current market, just over three months. We chose the Maui Real Estate Team because we had bought our house through Billy when we came to Maui in 2005, and we found him to be a good fit for us with his calmness, honesty, helpful attitude, and his knowledge of Maui. If you are working with them it is because you probably got forced into it from a Coldwell Banker agent. Because those agents are pressured by their brokers Eric and Steve to use that company. The only good thing they had going for them was having Grey Marino working for them. He was the person that you could call when something went wrong and he'd fix it. Now they have no one worth picking up the phone to speak to. Rumor has it they let him go because he took time off to see his sick mother. This company is bad from the inside out. Do not use.
