It was a bit pricey to completely replace the brakes; knowing there is a lifetime parts warranty on the pads and shoes (plus 12 months/12,000 miles on labor) makes the cost easier to swallow. The lifetime alignment also seems like it'll be a great value in the long run since I can get the wheels realigned for free every 6,000 miles for as long as I own the car. I came in for an oil change on my 2006 Nissan. They then told me I needed several other things done including brake fluid replacement, coolant flush, new wiper blades, and new struts. I only got the high mileage oil change and brake fluid replacement which cost about $140. The other work that needs to be done seems really overpriced and I kind of feel like they were taking advantage of me. This is what they quoted me (see blow). I understand that I drive an old car but almost $1400 to replace struts and coolant flush? That seems excessive. The technician here VIOLATED the requirement on my car Owner's Manual when performing oil change for me. It is required to tighten the drain bolt to 30 lbf·ft in one step, but they just did hand tight, which could lead to either oil leak or bolt broken. I don't think they are doing professional services regarding oil change. I should also remind anyone doing tire works here. Ask them if they are using torque wrench for securing your wheels. If not, don't let them do for you because hand tightening of wheels is also unprofessional and halmful. Your tire's wheel bolts also requires to be tightened at specific torque by Owner's Manual. If they get overtightened too many times, it's going to be deformed and lose strength. read more

Made appointment for 10, didn't call me until noon with the what I needed, 4 spark plugs and a coil. Then I had my biggest laugh in years, they wanted 663.00! I'm laughing as I write this! Told them no way, I'll pick it up, took another hour and a half for them to call me that it was ready. Also tried to sell me new tires, they're in fair condition and still have some mileage left, said they had dry rot, they don't, and that I needed a front ball joint, did I notice my car shaking? No I didn't. I went there because it's in walking distance and convenient, never going to a chain shop again. Stay far away Bruce and his "team" of mechanics let me drive away after fixing my bearing in my hub (99 percent of the time if the hub or bearings bad it destroys the rotors and brakes, in this case is did start to) Bruce and the technician gave me my car back ibasked was it just the bearings or is the rotor damaged he said nope my technician said 80 precent life on brakes no warps no grooves... I was surprised I pulled off as soon as I brake even a little hard to a complete stop I get a large grinding noise in the same tire they just replaced the bearing in... I bring it back for them to listen and they tell me , that's a little brake noise and MIGHT GO AWAY, and the technician who got in my car to listen to the grinding pointed at his old beatip truck and said yeah u should listen to my truck brakes, as if his old car and bad brakes means anything to me. I have been dealing with corporate on this matter seeing as not one person in that location seems able or intelligable/willing to fix your car properly. Complete car care specialist huh? Up sell up sell...Try to convince you to buy new tire at end of life. Didn't even fix a nail after warranty at 30 degrees or try to fix it just said they couldn't and just try to sell new tires. I only need a few thousand until my new car and i don't even drive anymore daily so took to another shop and fix it immediately with no issues or hassle or questions. Clean and modern service center with great customer service. Recently got an alignment done here. I went to Town Fair Tire before this and Star Tire in West Haven and my car was still pulling. Dishonest and unprofessional. Robert, the so-called manager tries is best to up sell when customers call in with questions or need service. I stood at the kiosk and heard 3 customers hang up on him because he would not give clear answers then he mutters under his breath and wonders what they're upset about. I needed my brakes checked, needed to know if my tires needed balancing and if I need a wheel alignment. I also found that one sway bar had to be replaced. Robert tried to tell me that ALL my sway bars needed replacement and that he was willing to do the alignment first but that I would need a second alignment after All My sway bars were replaced.The bottom line is that I had to determine what I really needed and the car runs fine now but I could not rely on Robert for anything. read more

Trustworthy customer service, so says Chris back in June. All Firestones are a joke. I learned this on 12/27/18 while talking to Michael. All I wanted was an oil change. I've been with firestone for some time and I am the only owner on my vehicle. Even though the milford store almost killed me (and I'll get to that later), I went to this store as a test and they failed! I wanted an oil change and a service check. Michael tells me I needed the steering rack replaced and I should think of getting the water pump done. I told him the milford firestone did my water pump like 2 years ago. I wish I had video of his perplexed, incompetent, puzzled look that he gave. And in front of me, I also have my March 17, 2017 receipt of when the milford store did my steering rack. So my question is, are your computers connected firestone or is the sign in front of the store just a front? Michael even lifted my car up to show me the leaky steering mechanisms. I noticed a clamp missing, "you can't just replace that clamp?", I told him. "No", he replied. Of course not. Spend another 1000 plus on work I already had done to the car. With the water pump, that would be over 2 grand. And last year, my last time at the milford store they didn't secure a ball joint. They said it was defective. I say it was half ass work. And the guy there didn't even want to send a tow truck to my job, where my non drive-able car was. So needless to say I'm done with firestone. Thanks for fueling this yelp comment. If you go there, you're probably paying for repairs you don't need or you already had done. I bought my car brand new ten years ago Michael, I keep all my receipts. Nice try. Wish I could give more stars. I've never felt compelled to write a review for an auto care place before but the service at this location is incredible and unlike any I've experienced at any autoshop. All the guys here are good but you're in excellent hands especially with Perry. I had my brakes and rotors done here and he was extremely thorough and made sure everything was perfect. He even threw in extras on top of that for things my car needed. I even got a call the next day asking how my brakes were and if everything was working fine. Who does that?! Talk about going the extra mile. I'm definately taking my car here for services in the future and if you don't want to be an idiot, you should do the same. read more

I went online just to get the address of the nearest Firestone store. I saw an option that allows you to schedule an appointment. I scheduled, received an email confirmation. I showed up an hour early for my appointed time but was given prompt and extremely courteous service. I was given an estimate and they performed the services which I had requested. I was in and out in 40 minutes for the price of the estimate. They gave me service recommendations but never tried to upsell me as other repair places have done. Highly recommend this place. I went there knowing I needed new tires but didn't realize how bad my tires were. I wanted to make an appointment for the following day. Lou, who was the person who took care of me, went out to look at the tires. When he returned he was pleasant and concerned and asked me if there was any way I could leave the car today. He stated he was concerned about me driving with the tires in this condition. I realized my front tire was very worn down. We were having problems with our trailer. We bought the parts we needed and were going to replace the bearings ourselves but the pieces inside the hub were destroyed and melted. We took the whole hub over to the Firestone down the hill and they used their awesome tools to remove the seal that was stuck inside. At that point they just decided to fix the whole piece for us. We offered them money for their time but they refused and said "Remember us when you're big!". We gave them a couple CDs and got on our way. There are still good people in the world! read more

Did love this place but won't be going back! Took my car in for a 60,000 routine service. It started fine & ran fine going in but they messed something up & created a misfire. Had to leave it overnight & take an Uber home from the shop. And they wanted to charge me $414 for that service! Never again! read more
