Had the $29.99 oil change coupon that came out to $35.02 today. Overall; I'd recommend. (For anyone who is anxious about wait time; just call beforehand so you can know how backed up they are and how long they'd guess it'll be until they'd be done. Disrespectful employees and the worst service. I arrived with a flat and in need of urgent help. I was alone with my two young children. They pushed me away saying I would have to wait two days. I had to beg for them to air up my tire so I could drive away. They didn't even look to tell me if it was a repair or replacement. So it appears that this Firestone might be victim to a few bad experiences that turned into the non-Yelping person logging in to Yelp for the first time about their bad experience. I kind of hate that when it comes to Yelp reviews. As such, I feel like I wanted to write to quick review to help out this Firestone. My dad has been a regular to this Firestone for many years and has said that he always has had a good experience. I was with him yesterday when we stopped in to inquire about getting four new tires and a possible alignment with those four new tires. Eric Doering was behind the counter and quick to offer us a friendly welcome and assistance. After scheduling an appointment for the next day to drop off the car, my dad indicated that he was happy with his service. Eric was again there to assist and the service to get the tires we thought was reasonably priced. Eric was up front from the get go about costs, tax, labor and out the door what we were looking at. The car was serviced and returned faster than expected. So thanks Eric and thanks Firestone. Sorry a few bad apples have spoiled your Yelp lot, but we were satisfied with our service and would return. read more

I took my car in for an oil change and was told that my boot was torn and I needed a new one. Estimate was $583.59. I refused and said I didn't have the money. Desk clerk advised me to get a Firestone credit card. Was very pushy. I refused. Took my car to my regular mechanic to check out. There was nothing wrong with the boot. If I could give negative stars, this place has definitely earned a negative rating. A female friend of mine had purchased tires from this place 6 months ago. Her car developed a noise in the right front of the car. She took it back to this dealer to have it looked at. They looked it over and printed out a list of recommendations to fix. The recommendations totaled $911.72. They claimed the car needed aligned, master brake cylinder was leaking, the oil needed changed, the transmission and power steering fluids needed changed and various other repairs. The minimum was about $220 for alignment of the car, replacement of a lug nut that was mysteriously missing (it wasn't two days before taking it to this shop), and repair of the right front suspension. My friend asked me what I thought she should do and we didn't do any of the repairs and took it to another service station in town who fixed the car for about $95. The master cylinder was not leaking and the only thing that was recommended which needed done was the alignment. After getting the car fixed at the other place, I went to Firestone to talk with them about this. I believe their recommendations were based on the fact that she is female. I asked the manager why he trains his people to try to rip off female customers and he got very rude and nasty with me. If you need tire work done in Terre Haute and your female, DO NOT take it to this shop. If you are a guy, don't take it here either. read more

Total lack of customer service. We frequent the Firestone by our house and have used it in multiple vehicles. We are on a road trip and an arm rest fell off so I stopped to see if I could borrow a socket wrench for two minutes to reatrach it. Sir, we don't loan tool and can fit it in in 3 hours. I explained the situation and he help firm and I was just amazed in this day of electronic reviews. I went down the street and found a small mechanic who gladly loaned me the socket wrench and it took me 60 seconds to reattch the arm rest. I hope they remember Customer service is #1. read more

I ran over a nail and needed my tire replaced. Because my tire is difficult to get at local dealers, I ordered my tires from Tire Rack and had them shipped to the Firestone store. Per my request, Firestone scheduled my service for the day after the tires were expected to arrive. Firestone was very professional in dealing with me to set up the appointment and to service my vehicle. The work was completed accurately. After the new tires were mounted and balanced I took the vehicle for a drive to check the accuracy of the balance and to make sure the alignment or other parameters were not degraded. Everything checked out good. My tires were run flat tires on an SUV with all wheel drive. Because it is all wheel drive all four tires must be within a specified tread wear limit. Since one tire was relatively new I just had three tires replaced. The two tires that were not damaged with the nail I kept. Firestone took good care of all the details. I would return to them again for service. read more

I have been a loyal customer of this shop for over 20 years. They have always taken care of me and never tried to get me to service something that doesn't need to be fixed. Many times they give you a list of things that they suggest need to be replaced or fixed, but never tell you they have to be done. I put many miles on my vehicles in a short period of time so I am usually here to get my oil changed every other month and I have never once had a problem with the way they have handled my car or their treatment of me as a woman. This place is always slow. I was here months ago for new tires. I took the guys 2 hours to put new tires on. I said okay, maybe it's a bad day. Went back for an oil change and tire rotation after scheduling an appointment and was stuck in the lobby for well over an hour. Only one other customer in the lobby. Simply ridiculous. read more

If I could put zero stars I would. I dropped my car off for a single tire and was promised it would be ready by 9am so I could make a meeting. I arrived at 9 and the car was still sitting where I left if the night before. The guy at the counter (same guy who promised me it by 9) made some half baked excuse and then had a tech pull it in. Tech said should only take a minute. Ha. 20 minutes later the tire hasn't even been mounted yet. This isn't the first time this location has burned me but it will defiantly be the last. My daughter had bought a used car. She decided to get an oil change not knowing when it had been done. She took it to this store and had the oil changed. She was ready for an oil change after 3000 miles. I had just moved back here from Az.so I told her I would help her husband change it to save her some money. He told me they thought they had bought a lemon when they bought the car because it used a lot of oil . So we went to the parts store to buy the oil and filter. He told me that we got the wrong filter because it was a lot bigger than the one on the car. Well Firestone had put the wrong filter on the car when they changed her oil. The gasket on the filter they put on it didn't cover the return hole so the oil was leaking down the filter. read more

This location is now open on Sundays. I rarely drive my husband's vehicle but he was gone on a business trip and he mentioned needing brake work. I drove his vehicle to church and I thought low flying aircraft was in the area. Nope - it was the brakes making noise. Since the Colts were not playing, I contacted this location and they told me to bring in the vehicle. There are not many places open in Sunday and the shop was super busy. It took a while to get my estimate but Steve, the manager, kept me posted. He showed me the brakes and tie rods and explained thoroughly what was wrong and how they could fix it. Further I had a tire with tread issues and Steve took the time to explain how to determine the age of the tires. The crew ended up staying pass closing time to get my vehicle functional. The smile on my face when I drove out and tested my brakes was priceless. There was absolute quiet and the car no longer pulled to the right. It is unusual to receive such top notch dedication to get the job done right, the first time, and to receive communication about the progress. I highly recommend the staff and felt as if the cost of the service was very fair for the amount of work performed. read more
