Firestone Quoted $800, Then Charged $1,800 -- Lied, Wasted My Time, and Left Me No Choice After getting a $2,600 quote from the Ford dealership to replace the rear A/C lines on my 2016 Ford Explorer, I called Firestone for a second opinion. A woman told me they'd have to diagnose it themselves, which I understood. So I asked: "If your diagnostic confirms it's the rear A/C lines, what's the full cost -- parts, labor, and fees included?" She said: "$800 total." I confirmed again, and she repeated: "$800 all in." Based on that, I picked up my car from the dealership and brought it to Firestone. I also arranged a rental vehicle and made other plans around their price. Then they called back and said the price was now $1,800 -- more than double what they quoted me. I expressed how unfair that was, and the manager just said, "Well, we're still cheaper than Ford," with no ownership of the misleading quote. When I pushed back, he told me he didn't want to work on my car because I "didn't seem happy." I explained that I simply felt misled and had made financial decisions based on the original quote. I just wanted the job done. I reluctantly agreed to the $1,800. On the morning before the July 4th weekend, I called and was told the parts had arrived and the job would be completed that day unless a problem came up. At 5 PM, I called again and was told, "It's being worked on." But when I arrived in person, my vehicle was still sitting exactly where I had parked it. No work had been done. They lied. When I asked for my keys, the manager gave them to me -- no apology, no update, no explanation. I had a newborn child, and working A/C was essential for safety. I was counting on them, and they let me down badly. They didn't just change the price -- they wasted my time, ignored my concerns, and lied to me. I was so frustrated that I ended up trading in the vehicle just to move on. Firestone didn't care how their actions affected me. If you choose this location, get everything in writing and prepare to be disappointed. I won't be back. read more

I would give negative stars if I could! My father and husband called to get a new tire through them and we were told by a woman that they had 3 in stock and they could have it done by Sunday afternoon/late morning. We immediately dropped off the old tire and rim as soon as we could. Come Sunday (today), my father calls them and they say "oh yes the tire will be done in 15 minutes." While my father is on his way, they call my husband (who wasn't with my father at the time) and said that they can't find the tire that the woman told him they had 3 of in stock! Mind you, they didn't tell my father any of this and he was already on his way from Farmington! I'm just glad my father didn't pay for the service yet! WILL NEVER USE THEM FOR ANYTHING AGAIN! read more

I scheduled an appointment for a Saturday afternoon for new tires. I dropped the truck off and they said it'd be ready either that evening or the next day. Sunday morning, we spoke to them and they said it'd be ready in an hour or so. They then called an hour later and said the mechanic never showed up so they wouldn't finish it until Monday. I will never take my vehicle to them again. I ended up picking up the truck since I had work Monday and needed it. Don't recommend. read more

I spent 2000 to get my check engine light on problem fixed almost 200 dollars on diagnostic. over three days. they told me to take it to Aamco . I wish I would have started here. take your car anywhere else. they shouldn't be part of the company read more

This place is awesome. They. went out of their way to helped me. There was only one person there and I had a nail in my tire. They fix it completely even though there was only one person there and was great courtesy. Then we found out there was a cut on another tire and he was really nice ordered my tire. But I realized I had tires that could match my car In. storage even though he ordered the tire he went ahead and put my spare tire on for nothing I recommend this place to anybody. They also need help there so if you know anybody that needs mechanical work please apply there. It's a great place I think it would be a great place to work and awesome I would give them a hundred plus rating they showed God's love to the world read more

I used this shop to install brand new tires that I had purchased on my own. I do this all the time to save money since using a middle man nearly doubles the price. Anyway, I expect the same level of service and quality that I would receive if I bought from the shop. I didn't get that at all. Tires were not balanced properly and one was not even seated correctly. When I called to try to get in to get the issue corrected I was told there would be a repair fee. I've never had to pay a repair fee for someone to redo their shoddy work and I'm not starting now. I took my vehicle to a local shop for correction. Luckily I used a national auto service contractor and was able to get a refund through them because this shop was not going to do the right thing. I even commented on just how fast the tech got the job done. I know why now. read more

I bought four tires rated at 70,000 miles. I had the tires rotated and alignments completed as per normal schedule. One of them was bald with just 25,000 miles on it. I suspected a defective tire but was expecting a MAJOR hassle getting it replaced. I walked in with an attitude anticipating confrontation. NO confrontation was forth coming. The counter people analyzed the data, did a visual inspection and replaced the tire. They were very professional and alleviated my attitude and stress within minutes. I am extremely pleased! I took my daughter car in to see why the heat was not working. Was told it was the thermostat. Supposedly it was replaced, I sat for 30 minutes and had to ask was I waiting on anything else. Mind you I took a early lunch to get car fixed. $405 later, it takes 15-20 minutes to get back to work, still no heat. Next morning my daughter let car run for hour, still no heat. Called store to inform them, was told to bring it back. Daughter was told now it was the actuator. So that clearly states the heat never worked. Supposedly the actuator was replaced, still no heat. Called customer care, spoke with Jared, the tech who replaced actuator stated the tech who replaced thermostat, claims old one fell off when he touched. Why was I not notified. Now we are told it maybe the heating coils. So I paid for diagnostic that was false. Also was told she needed a battery, the reading they showed me was dated for July 2022, this is January 2024. I'd rather been told they didn't know what was wrong, and not guess because she is still without heat. They need better communication with customers and be honest with what's happening. read more

My AC wasn't working and I thought the 9.99 check was a good deal. The guy at the counter explained it wasn't what I thought and would not help diagnose the problem. He talked to me about the issues, and provided me an alternative. I was grateful he didn't let me waste the money on it and was upfront about it. While I didn't get any service done, I appreciated the honesty and would take car back there (it has been there before too). read more

Stopped in with a slow leak at high noon on a Sunday & they had me out the door PDQ - while seated in the lobby I got to observe the manager deal with a couple difficult customers (and one or two NOT so difficult) patiently & (eventually) to their satisfaction ... it's SUNday, people! Cut these guys a little SLACK for being open & available to you! Been a Firestone customer before, but this was my first time at this location - I'll be back! read more

Another auto repair shop to cross off the list! I made an appointment a week in advance and after leaving my car there for over 9 hours, I arrive to pick it up only to be told that it is still on the lift! I was only getting 2 tires replaced but that must be a 10 hour service here so keep that in mind. They were also rotating the tires but failed to air up the older 2 tires after rotating them. When I left and stopped to get gas, I noticed they looked super low. One tire had about 12 lbs of pressure and the other had 15. These are tires that hold 45 lbs max so that is DANGEROUSLY low. I cannot believe they let me drive away on basically flat tires. If this place can't change 2 tires in 9 hours or know how to air up a tire, I haven't a clue how they are still in business! read more

This is the second time I've had to come here to get something on my car fixed and this time all I needed was an oil change. It took over 24 hours for them to even get it in the garage and then I get it back and the check engine light came on. Took my car to the dealership and they concluded my oil was not changed whatsoever. Ridiculous wait and charged for no work. I took my car here for years, in the end I feel like I took it from behind. I went my last time there for good about a year ago. They told me my engine mount was bad, ( I couldn't figure out why my car was jerking). Anyway, I left after reporting I needed to think about paying $500 to replace the mount. I took it home and looked further, we took at the battery and almost took out the engine mount, but decided to replace the spark plugs first. BINGO, $25 later, my problem was solved. read more

Worst customer service, my tire going flat in their parking lot and they could even come out to help me get a new tire or change to spare cause is was late and snowing. Went there cayse I live 2 blocks away and they are the only service place. Thinking I had a nail I stopped there and when they wouldn't help I drove back to my house and my tire exploded as I got out. So that jyst says to me I will never go back there again they don't care about your safety at all read more

Worst customer service of any branch of Firestone I've ever seen. After spending $3500 on suspension work and new tires including new struts, cv axles, sway bar links, CA bushings, etc. I was still having suspension noise. Went to drop my car off Friday after the noise got really bad and they told me they couldn't even LOOK at the car until Tuesday. When I explained that the problem was directly related to the parts they installed, they just stared at me until I walked out the door. Took it to another Firestone branch and they replaced my "new struts" that were complete junk for free, parts and labor, in less than 5 hours. I will NEVER visit the Peoria branch of Firestone again! read more

This place I was skeptical of at first but they always give me straight answers. They never try to overcharge me and if anything they always take off charges and save me a ton of money because the labor wasn't necessary. I've been coming here for some time now and people like Jeremy are always honest and down to earth. I've never had any later problems due to their work and I'm always satisfied with them. I don't know why I keep coming back here every year... I keep forgetting that every time is a new issue. Don't bother making an appointment - I had a 1 p.m. appointment and ended up sitting in the waiting room until almost 3 p.m. for an oil change. The car didn't even get in the garage until 2 p.m. so what was the point of the appointment? They were also going to charge me to run a diagnostic on my computer... 100 bucks they said. I took it to Meineke and they ran the diagnostic for free. It's true that they have great prices, but what's the point if you have to wait for hours on end and usually get more trouble than your car is worth for it? read more
