Dealership prices with none of the professionalism. We took our car here for a diagnostic and they suggested we change our spark plugs. After hearing their quote we didn't want to pay the outrageous price. My wife went to pick the car up and they refused to give it to her because it "wasn't put back together" and apparently the guy who took them out wasn't there. With our car being held hostage and having no other choice, we said we were interested in having them replace the spark plugs. Suddenly, with us agreeing to the "ransom" they had someone who could install spark plugs and our car was ready to be picked up the same day. We ended up spending $734.19 on spark plugs and 3 ignition coils, after a supposed discount. Not to even mention the terrible customer service. I normally do not use Firestone for general maintenance items on my 2015 Jeep GC, but this time given that the weather is hot I did not feel like installing a set of spark plugs so I made an appointment with the local Firestone shop at 135th Street in Olathe. My jeep just hit the 90K miles and developed a miss at idle so I decided to get plugs installed. After completion of the repair, that took about 2 and half hours. I was given the invoice and to my surprise and I'm sure to the surprise of ANYONE reading this I see that I was charged $26.99 per sparkplug (or $161.94) for six. I've been in the automotive repair business my entire adult life and many times I would need to purchase a part from a local automotive shop and I'm sure that Firestone has a very good purchase price for parts from local shops and I'm guessing that the mark up would be around COST + 10% or at most cost plus 15%. So, I called the local automotive supplier that delivers to Firestone and depending on the brand of plugs I needed for my jeep, they ranged from $9.30 to $19.00 per plug. So without knowing what specific spark plug was installed (not listed on the invoice by brand name only a firestone part number) I would guess that Firestone is charging between 44-66% markup. It would have been nice to know what the parts price was when I called to schedule the service. I also noted that no intake manifold gasket kit was charged to the ticket, either Firestone gave that to me at NO COST (unlikely) or the technician re-used the old seal rings when he replacement the intake manifold. Jeep dealer stated that you should not re-use the intake gaskets/seals they should be replaced. Now I wondering if I develop a problem with a leak around the intake manifold how Firestone will respond. Lesson learned do minor repairs yourself, if possible, or take to a repair shop that will offer transparent service. read more

Superb customer service! I was greeted by the folks at the front desk as soon as I walked in. Special shoutout to Sean. It was a pleasure to work with him. A customer came in pretty upset, making a scene and, Sean deescalated the situation very well too! Anyways, I'll try to keep this short and sweet :) I made an appointment online less than 24 hours for my requested time slot. They got me in right away and, it only took 30 minutes for my oil change and tire rotation! Yes, 30 minutes on a Saturday in the afternoon. I can't remember the last time I received that type of service, that quickly! I waited around in their lobby which was, very clean by the way. Overall, great experience. So I just moved here from Buffalo. I was told by my Ford Dealer before I left that I needed new brakes. After getting treated like garbage at Olathe Ford Lincoln, we made an appointment here and left my car here. I admit it, I am not a car guy. For the most part, for me, a car is just to get me from point A to point B. But I respect my car and follow the maintenance schedule and get my regular oil changes done at Firestone. You must schedule your oil changes ahead of time but you can do it online and while you are on their website grab a coupon. They are always there but do change monthly and some months are better than others. Standard oil change is around $20-$25 and full synthetic is $50-$55 (with coupons). They always do a courtesy check of my fluid levels and tires. Even top them off if they need it and its all included. An oil change usually takes about 30 minutes. The technicians and counter people are always nice and explain your options well. When I decline a service (usually a light bulb or air filter...I can do some things myself! haha ) they never pressure me to have them do it or give me the guilt trip that my car is going to explode if I don't have them fix it right away. read more

We were headed out of town when that crazy snow storm hit a few weeks back around Christmas. My hubby had to have some dental work in the morning and this Firestone was just down the street. We came out of the dentist office and our windshield wipers were all jacked up and yes that is the technical term. The rubber was hanging off and they were frozen to the wind shield. I pulled them up on Yelp and called to see how long the wait was for wipers. They said no wait. We were there in less than 3 mins and the tech ran out with the blades. I told them what we need make and model of car stuff. Hubby ran in and paid for them and we were off in 10 mins flat. If that is not awesome service, I don't know what is. read more

I was there a week ago! I wanted to give my tires a week to insure they were legit, put on correctly and I wasn't on the side of the road calling for roadside assistance, my darling husband. I am here to report they had excellent customer service. I used their online scheduling to make an appt for four new tires and they confirmed less than 12 hours later. They were beyond nice when I called to reschedule that appt. They were beyond nice when I came in and they had me done in about 1 hour and half. I didn't want them to rush. I should preface this with the fact that I have had VERY bad luck with Firestone with previous cars at different Firestone locations. Any my parents have even worse luck with a location in Independence (a wrench left in the engine?). But I've taken my cars here to the Firestone in Olathe for six years. The three managers remember who I am and who my wife is. We've had problems with one of our cars, and if the problem persists after they try to fix it, they'll repair it for free. They give great coupons. The no-interest Firestone card saves my financial life at least once a year. I've never had an issue with dishonesty or feeling like I'm being duped into getting services I don't need. Even if I move 100 miles away, I'll still take it to this Firestone location. It's the only place I trust with my car repairs -- even more so than the dealership. read more

Last week requested the exchange of oil and tires, and after Firestone finished the service, they contacted me to get the car. I paid for the service and after driving a few miles the car began to smoke. When I opened the hood of the car, I saw that they did not put the lid on the oil. I do not understand, as a company like Firestone lets this kind of accident happen. My wife almost had an accident because of the smoke coming out of the engine. I would like Firestone to take responsibility for the error and check my car again. Once again Firestone disappointed me. I was very impressed with the service I received here. Needed 4 new tires for my wife's car, they recommended some Bridgestone Potenza's that turned out awesome and also were not the most expensive tire they had. My wife had told me the car had been pulling so I assumed it needed an alignment. After mounting the new tires the alignment was in spec and it was the tires causing the pull. I was impressed by their honesty. I already thought it needed the alignment and frankly I always think its the right thing to align a car when you get new tires installed, but it didn't need it, and they didn't try to sell it to me. I appreciate that because I would have told them to do it if they told me it needed it. I would definitely recommend this store and I will be back. read more

I brought my car in for normal maintenance, so I can't say anything about how this Firestone does as far as major repairs. What I can say is that the customer service was very good. The service advisor, Sean, was very helpful in arranging the appointment and giving the estimate. He also mentioned the coupons and rebates available. The waiting area is large and has a TV and a variety of magazines. The waiting area and the repair bays are clean. There is a restroom, but I did not use it so I can't comment on it's state. The technicians did the maintenance fairly quickly, efficiently, and effectively. They did a standard inspection and explained their findings. They were as friendly as the service advisor. No one was pushy trying to upsale me on anything. The one drawback I found with Firestone was its location. While it's near a busy intersection, it's not exactly the easiest to access. In fact, there are other auto maintenance and repair shops around it that are easier to access. As far as prices, while Firestone has a bit higher prices than other mechanics, it's not that much higher (if you use any available discounts/coupons). What got me to try Firestone was their decent reviews and there convenient hours. For me, the convenience was worth the slightly higher price of the services. The place is open 7 days a week and has hours outside the normal business hours. That helped me a lot. So, overall, I'd recommend Firestone Complete Auto Care near the intersection of 135th St. and Blackbob in Olathe for normal maintenance. I'm sure they would do major repairs competently, but again, I haven't used them for that. However, wouldn't you try a mechanic shop for normal maintenance first to get a feel for them rather than using them for a major repair and seeing how it goes afterwards? read more

A freezing December day with an hour til close and I discovered my tire was 'hissing.' I called Firestone and they said to go ahead and bring it right in. (which is great, otherwise I would have had a flat tire in the morning) Unfortunately my tire had to be replaced, but fortunately it was covered until the warranty so I got a new tire for a fraction of the cost. While I waited three people came in with less than 30 minutes before it closed and all needed their tires checked for pressure and aired up. All were greeted with smiles and helped right away. It was freezing outside, super late til closing, yet all the employees I came into contact with were friendly and helpful. I will definitely continue to service my car at this location! I recently moved to the area from KCMO and used to frequent the store in Martin City, which I will now be going back to. I've yet to have my car serviced correctly the first time at this store and have even had it returned with oil/grease stains all over the roof liner, seats, doors and floormats. After today's service, the vehicle is performing worse than it was when I dropped it off. When I called to get an appointment to correct this they only stated that it wouldn't be done today - I will have to wait for tomorrow. I understand scheduling, but when the job is not done right the first time, the customer should not have to go through the hassle of having to reschedule for another day and arrange rides to/from the store for a second time while going a day with a car that does not drive correctly. read more

But after seeing a really negative review on a place I have utilized and enjoyed for over 15 years, I just had to. I have 4 vehicles in total. I have them all serviced by this Firestone in Olathe. I feel that they are honest with their clients and try to provide excellent customer service. No place is perfect of course! We are talking about humans servicing machines with thousands of parts and nowadays extensive technology. But on the rare occasion when I've had an issue, the service manager quickly works to resolve it. What more could you ask for? I went here because I had a nail in my tire. I even brought in a spare. Someone other than who I originally talked to called me. He was abrasive right off the bat. He informed me the nail was in my side wall and the tire will need completely replaced. When I let him know I brought a spare he informed me at that time they do not replace tires with used tires. I understand both of these statements. Then he proceeded to tell me that my spare also had a nail in it. The only way that tire would have a nail in it would be because the nail came from their shop. I was lied to and this person tried to cheat me and get my money. I took my car and money elsewhere. I went to Discount Tire and they told me the nail was only in the tread, it didn't puncture anything, my spare was in great condition but they weren't comfortable with the amount of tread. Straight forward. They sent me on my way AND recycled my low tread spare FOR FREE. read more

Have been going here for years and never had one issue. Let me change that a little. One time my van was inside in a bay overnight on a very cold day, well below zero. When they backed it out in the AM the back glass shattered. The had people on the way to fix it at their cost before I even knew and then to top it off there were sports teams stickers in the back from my children's team and they wanted to find someone to remake them and pay for it. WOW! So I don't believe they would hide something as simple as a crossed drain plug. They have taken care of nine vehicles for me. Of the four I don't have anymore two I got great trade in for and two were wrecked or they all would still be going strong read more

Absolutely the worst place! They stripped out my drain plug and didn't bother to tell me. My car had to be put on a wrecker to be taken to the Honda dealership. Gave them a chance to make it right, no luck. The manager kept on and on how it wasn't their fault. Save yourself the time and headache and don't deal with these people. I have had tires put on twice, both times I have had this done, within a couple of weeks or a month, my car has other problems. I have a loose belt, a leaky hose..
