I asked them to put my spare tire on in place of a bad tire i had. The spare was a Yokohama Geolander on a nice rim. The spare and rim were just like the other 4. When i picked my truck up it had a large all terrain tire with a 2" smaller rim. When I confronted them, they told that was the spare that was on the truck. So I lost a good tire and rim. I basically needed a simple tune up; change spark plugs, clean engine oil, replace one ignition coil. My total was four hundred twenty sum dollars & diamond told me that would cover everything. I get there days later and they wanted to charge me an extra 220 for the ignition coil. i only had the price diamond & i spoke about over the phone which after our discussion included the ignition coil so i was very confused. Then when everything was finished an hr later my car still had the exact same issues. DO NOT COME HERE!!!! They overcharge, make false promises & have bad attitudes. Luckily i found a mechanic around the corner & he replaced my ignition coil FOR FREE. Thanks to HIM, my car is safe to drive again. read more

I just have to post about something that happened to me today. I had a flat in the cold rain. I was having trouble for several reasons and was literally soaking wet, but a passerby saw me and wanted to come to my aid. She drove over to this firestone and picked up Tony to come help me at the gas station across the street. They were both awesome and I was so happy to see a helping hand! Tony brought a full jack and a battery impact driver with him. He had my car jacked up and tire changed in no time flat(sorry for the pun). Wow, great place and they were quick. I originally went with a coupon for synthetic oil for my car, I was told that is what was required. He looked it up in two places and standard was all that was required. Goodness, I've been over charged all time time I guess. Anyway, I got the standard and then another guy did the payment and asked if I had a coupon, I said "I had one for synthetic but turns out it wasn't required so, no I guess I don't." He said "well I'm going to give you the coupon price for standard anyway." That was about a $15 savings! That was really cool. I'd have gone 5 stars but the first guy really should have done that since he's the one that saw my coupon originally for the synthetic, or at least told me to get the one for the standard because it was online. But I didn't know there was one to go back and look because I found the one I thought I was going to be using. But this will be my go to place from now on unless I move to far away. I have always taken my cars to Firestone. They do great work but the pricing is a little high and not to mention the wait sucks. Their service is great though and I did get a discount twice at this Firestone or at least that's what they told me. There waiting area is a little small and their chairs are uncomfortable. I would advice dropping off your vehicle instead of waiting. This way is cuts out the wait and the extra boredom. Again, their work is quality and I have never had a problem with their service. This soon-to-be retired AIr Force veteran traveled more than 250 miles to Charleston to search for a potential new home for his family. Sometime during the day our van picked up a large nail and the tire was down to about 15 pounds of pressure. Noticing the tire at 6:40pm, I immediately called the nearest Firestone. We arrived to this location at approximately five minutes prior to closing and while I was inside speaking with Alan, James had the tire off of our van and began repairing the tire. With the road hazard warranty the repair was free but, I didn't hesitate to offer a generous tip. I've used and attempted to use this location for several things with varying degrees of success. I had a 4 wheel alignment done with no issues, but nothing else has been done well. I had a check of my electrical system done, and they told me everything was ok - 2 days later I needed a new battery. They did honor their guarantee and returned my money. It's also very hard to get anyone on the phone to actually make an appointment - I've tried calling to have tires replaced, tires patched, and other repairs, and I just can't ever seem to get through. I actually called first thing yesterday morning, and they answered on about the 20th ring. I was told I would get a call back to schedule an appointment because their computers were down. Two days later, my call was never returned. Do yourself a favor and just go to Gerald's. read more

I had Northwoods Firestone install 4 new tires. My tire tech was #11 James. I give him a grade of D-. You know, the one that's one point above an F. Here's why: Short story: 1) James forgot to tighten the lug nuts on one of my wheels before lowering the lift. 2) James smeared excess tire lube all over my wheels and just left it there. 3) James did not remove the old tire weight adhesive and stuck the new wheel weight on crooked. 2 of my wheels are this way. Long Story: 1) I was excited to see the new tires on the car and was watching as the tire tech lowered my car to the ground. At the last moment, the service advisor stopped him and tapped the front wheel. The lug nuts were on by only a few threads. James had to go hook up the torque gun and run the lug nuts down. The wheel studs would have seriously scratched up the bolt holes if the car had sat on the ground. 2) I figured the tire techs get cars in with 40,000 miles of crud on the wheels and that's what they have to deal with. I made a point to clean all 4 of my wheels before the appointment so the tire guy would have at least one car that day with clean wheels. Imagine my displeasure when I went to leave and found tire goo smeared all over my wheels. 3) At home, while cleaning the tire goo off my wheels, I noticed the wheel weights looked a mess. The old adhesive hadn't been removed and the new weights had been applied crooked on top of the old adhesive. You can't miss it. It is very obvious James just didn't give a crap about my car(or me, the customer). I won't be going back to this location for anything. Ever. read more

I needed an oil change for 2 vehicles and these guys were on it! They started my service right away and even made me aware of a broken wiper blade on one of the vehicles. While I waited the guys at the counter were very nice and easy to talk to. Yet another very cool experience with the Northwoods Firestone location. I called on Wednesday morning regarding the fact that I had a slow leak in my passenger front tire due to a nail and Shane made an appointment for me to come at 3PM. He was very friendly and sweet. I came in as scheduled and David checked me in. David said I may have to wait 30 to 40 minutes for my car to be worked on and I told him I would wait as long as I had to since it was such short notice for me to come into their store. David was very friendly and sweet as well. Let me tell you that my tire was repaired and my car was back in the parking lot in about 33 minutes!!! Yahooie!!! Talk about a speedy and thorough service...in and out, less than 30 minutes! I arrived about 10 minutes early for my appointment and the technician immediately pulled my vehicle in the bay and started working on it. About 10 minutes later I informed that my tires would need replacing in the near future. Not only did they tell me, but they took me out to my vehicle and showed me each tire and where the tread was in relation to the wear bars as well where my tires were feathering which could be an alignment issue. It was really nice they took the time to show me what they were talking about to validate their recommendations. Terrible service. Started from the phone call to make an appointment. I have the road warranty to fix my tires if something, i.e, a nail gets in it and they can fix it. Take it in to the Firestone and they tell me they can't fix it because the outside tread is worn down. The nail is not on the outside tread. Kept trying to tell me to buy new tires, that's all they talked about. Took it down the road to another place and they plugged up and said it's good to go. Will never use firestone for car maintenance again, nor will my family. read more

Our tire needed to be replaced, they knew we were on a time constraint and we were out of there with a new tire with the donut correctly placed back in the trunk after only 20 minutes. Either was lied to about a service or they are just not knowledgeable about how vehicles work because i took it to a local shop and they were able to do the work just fine. Much better now.
