By God the worst tire shop in virgina. I had scheduled an appointment for tires and alignment. When I arrived they were overbooked and told me they couldn't do the alignment because of time. FIRESTONE SENT THE WRONG CAR TO AUCTION! Check photos and updated response from Firestone Claims that said they wanted to help! NEVER USE FIRESTONE Do yourself a favor and never use Firestone. My wife took our car there because it said it was not charging. She stopped here because it was the closest place. The car was looked at and the serpentine belt had broke. She was told they had to order another one. She was told she could pick the car up on Friday. This is where it goes bad. She arrives to get the car and the car is gone! Steve tells her they are trying to get in touch with the person who has it. She arrived at 8 something that morning. An hour or so goes by and she is told the person is returning the car in 30 minutes. Only explanation was they gave the keys to the wrong person. The car arrives back at Firestone at 3pm on a tow truck with markings on the windshield. The truth then comes out that they gave the keys to the tow truck driver who took our car to auction. The admitted they gave the wrong car to the tow truck driver. So my wife sees the car and it still has the auction markings on the windshield which Firestone did clean off. It appeared that most of the stuff in the car was put in the trunk. While looking for her items it was discovered that an Ipad was missing. The ipad was tracked before it was turned off and showed it was close to the auction company. The car returned with discolored spots in the leather from somebody who cleaned the seats sprayed some type of chemical on them that they should not have. The Ipad showed close to the auction company before it was turned off. Nobody can find the Ipad. I talk to Steve who tells me that FIrestone will make it right and replace the Ipad. I give him the price of the Ipad and was told okay. I then talk to the store manager Chad who tells me something different than Steve. Chad tells me that I need to file the police reports and jump through hoops and they will see what they can do. I asked for 1 item that is needed to be replaced and Chad as the store manager has no interest in making the situation right. Firestone GAVE my car away and sent it to auction! read more

Quite frankly, the most distasteful service I have encountered in years, upon arriving, my friends car had a flat donut that I had already changed out before arriving. We arrived 40 minutes prior to closing, where we were refuse service to change the tire, but yet the store associate chose to proceed with selling the bear rubber tire off without procuring the rim and installing it. Dropped van off at 8am for an appointment for inspection. Called 4 hours later to check on it they said it was in the garage and they would call me when it was ready. I went up there 2 hours later and the van was still where I parked it. They said it was promised by the end of the day. Then I told them I called 2 hours ago to check on it and they said it was in the garage. That was a lie obviously. I took the keys and the van to get the work done somewhere else. As a female it may be intimidating to come into a mechanics shop but I have never felt this. Ryan and Arielle have always been helpful to us. They take the vehicle to run a diagnostic test and are sure to call with their findings and send an estimate via email on what they recommend. Don't go here. We came to have our 2015 Ram Tradesman receive a State Inspection. We were failed due to "Bad lower ball joints". The employees went down a list of the issues we should be having and we were having zero issues with any part of the suspension. We received a second opinion from a State Inspector from a Dodge/Ram Dealership. The inspector did a thorough inspection and went back and recorded video for us discussing how nothing was found wrong with the suspension. He talked about the brand new tires, nothing loose in the suspension, nothing rusting or worn. He sent us the link to the inspection and the video investigation. Recommended reporting to the Virginia State Police Safety Office for an investigation. read more

I took my car to Firestone on Military Highway in July and got 4 new tires on my Rav 4. They have been good tires until last week. We are now into December and my Tire Pressure Sensor light has come on. After putting air in the tire and making sure all four tires were properly filled with air, I took the car back to Firestone to have them look at it. I thought the issue could have been a sensor as the light would flash off and on several times and then stay solid. After having the tires checked, they told me the sensors were fine and so were the tires. I left the shop. The next day, the sensor light came back on. As these are newer tires, this is why I brought the car back here. I left having only paid for an oil change. Three days later, the light was still on, so I took my car to the dealership to be looked over. The dealership called me and told me there was a nail in the front passenger side tire. My question is, if my tires were checked thoroughly at Firestone, how was the nail in the tire missed? These tires were put on in July and are under a 70,000 mile warranty. I have driven 10,000 miles since they've been put on. However, since my car was now at the dealership, I had no way to get it back to Firestone to have them look at the tire with hopes of having it fixed for free due to being under warranty. Long story short here- I'm furious that the nail in my tire was missed by Firestone and I was left to buy a new tire are the dealership. To have to take my car to another place after Firestone missed the nail has been a hassle in my daily schedule. I was left to pay for a new tire when I never should have had to if Firestone would have caught the nail and fixed it when the car was under their care. read more

Been going to Firestone for years and today will be the last time. This is the worst facility to get anything done period. Zero time management skills and no communication with a heavy premium on all services . Went in for a state inspection and was told I needed a few new bulbs which were over priced but got it done to pass. Waited nearly two hours for the bulbs to be replaced which is crazy. It's a 2016 Mazda 6 and to my understanding the motor nor the drive train needed to come out for the light bulbs to be replaced. Upon completion me nor my wife were notified that the service had been done. Only after hours of waiting and no communication from the techs or the front desk staff we went looking for answers. We were then told there were complications changing the bulbs thus the time delay. I'm not sure if they sent it to Mazda for the service or what but 3 plus hours total for light bulbs is absolutely psychotic I don't care if you replaced all of them and the little wiring harness that's insane. Watch your wallet. They got me in for an inspection on short notice but took almost 250% longer than the time estimate. My car failed inspection for a fogged headlight. They offered to clean the lenses for $95; then clear the car for inspection. I bought a $20 cleaning kit and restored the lights to like new condition in 11 minutes. When i took the car back re- inspection they told me it would take 2+ hours redo the 60 second headlight analysis. After i talked to the manager he agreed too expedite the 60 second check. The headlights failed again. The machine showed "too dim" yet the manager said the headlights looked like new. He said "I don't know what to tell ya. " Took the car to Toyota and had re analyzed. Headlights registered perfect on Toyota's equipment. There is clearly plenty of room for quick profit when the inspection station does the repair. Avoid Firestone at Military Circle. Sexism is alive and well at Firestone Norfolk off Military Highway!!! Only leaving 1 Star since I took my vehicle in on my lunch break for a state inspection and I did get that taken care of. Read on to see how they treat their female clientele. Of course, they try to make extra money off you and wanted to let me know that my engine air filter was due to be replaced in 2000 miles and cabin air filter needed to be replaced in 8000 miles. My first question: why would I ever want to change them now then if I have so many miles to go? Second question: did you do your due diligence and even look to see if they actually need to be changed or do you just read off a suggestion screen? But the real kicker: they had just been replaced by the dealership I bought the car from (out of state) and I had personally checked them 2 days before taking the car into Firestone (gasp! A female checking her own vehicle filters?!?!) Not to mention maintenance records in the glovebox showed they were changed within the last 1,000 miles, another indicator they don't even check these parts before recommending replacement. Here's the best part, drumroll please...the friendly (insert serious sarcasm here) jerk ringing me up had the audacity to ask me where the cabin air filter is located after I told him it didn't need changing because I had looked at it myself. Really dude?! Good try with your lame attempt to ridicule me. So at the end of the day, what I'm saying is if you are a female and respect yourself or if you're not a female but respect females (make your mothers/ wives/ daughters/ proud!), do everyone a favor and take your business elsewhere! read more

I dropped my car off for a state inspection. I received a call that my car failed inspection because my turn signal was "white". They quoted me $80 in labor to replace the one $3 bulb. That should take maybe 5 minutes to do. I said no thanks, I'll change it myself. They said ok, we'll put on a rejection sticker. So I got a ride there and still had to wait an hour for them to pull my car out of the garage. There were 4 employees there and from what I could tell, not a single one of them was doing anything. I've been coming here since 2013, and they have awesome service here. This place is located off of Military Highway right in front of the Dump and by the Mall. The first time I came here it was bc my tire was majorly flat and thought there was a nail in it... they checked and nothing. They went ahead and put air into my tires and said I'm set to go. Then it happened again that same week, so I was like hmm let me go back to Firestone and make sure all my tires were okay. And nothing once again... two weeks later it happened again but this time my tire was ruined from all the times it was flat and drove it. BUT this time the guy said my spoke from my tire was being tampered with, I didn't understand at first but he said the needle was taken off from the spoke of my tire and that a tool is needed to take that off. (SCARY, RIGHT) Anyway, I was glad he told me this bc I would have kept coming for a new tires over and over again. (I started to park my car in the garage and it never happened again :) This time around my tire popped on the interstate and had to get new tires, I came here bc I knew they would take care of me. I honestly, thought I was going to spend lots but since I had road assistance I had a nice discount on my tires (YaY) so ended up getting two new tires instead of one. This shop is not the right place for alignment. Went there twice but still my alignment was not fixed. Technician named Chris will give you so many reasons to what needs to be replaced before a proper alignment is done. The first appointment I had for my truck Chris said that my truck is OLD (2003) it will be hard to align my steering wheel straight. The second reason why they can't align my steering wheel (pulling left) is that my back tire won't adjust for alignment. Had a confirmed appointment for 3pm, received a phone call at 1:10 pm that if I wasn't there by 2pm they couldn't do my alignment. I couldn't get there until 2:30 but they took the vehicle, a standard size pickup, no lift or anything, back to do the alignment. Five minutes later they came back and said it wouldn't fit on their alignment rack. I had to replace some front end parts and needed the alignment to go see my kids for Christmas. Firestone lost a customer for life today. NTB right down the road saved my kids' Christmas when Firestone wouldn't. Looks like I'm a NTB guy now. read more

I already have a great mechanic but needed to get new tires. I spoke to Bryce yesterday afternoon and he told me what my "out the door" price would be for the tires and alignment I made an appointment for. When I dropped my car off this morning, Justin helped me and he was very personable and friendly. I received a call about an hour and a half later and my car was all finished! My parents gave me their vehicle which was in tip-top shape, had just been combed over by the DEALER even. The DEALER found nothing wrong because there WAS NOTHING WRONG. Brought it to this Firestone location because we needed a VA State Safety Inspection. Oh- and by the way, this same vehicle also passed inspection in my parent's home state also without any problem (because there weren't any problems with it!). Ok so we're just getting the VA state inspection sticker. WELL-- these crooks tell us the vehicle needs around $1500 worth of repairs to pass inspection. BULLSHIT! It did NOT. In fact some of the work needed had recently been done. Interesting! We left PRONTO did not give them a cent. We took the vehicle to a GOOD PLACE-- to PRIORITY FORD in Norfolk and GUESS WHAT!!? Passed inspection no problem!! Do not go to this place, these "mechanics" give the good mechanics a bad name, this is the sort of nonsense that makes most people wary of mechanics. 2016 Dodge Journey SXT: The check engine light is on reading code P0443. The check engine light has been on with the same code since the beginning of August 2021. On August 27, 2021, a Firestone in Norfolk (where we now live), removed and replaced the purge solenoid. The check engine light remained on. On 09/08/2021, Firestone changed the fuel vapor storage and removed and replaced the evaporation control canister. The check engine light remained on. On 09/15/2021, Firestone did a courtesy check, the check engine light stayed on. On 09/22/2021, Firestone's technician adjusted the fuel vapor storage canister. When I picked it up, I was told that the check engine light should not come back on and if it does, I need to take it to my local dealer for repair. As soon as I turned the car on, the check engine light came on. At Firestone, we paid $944.00 for the above mentioned services and we have the same check engine light code. Don't drive in and wait unless you have hours to waste. At the time I purchased a set of tires and wheels Enterprise still had a relationship with Firestone - hopefully that has changed if others have had similar experiences. Of the four wheels one leaked air through the rim (yes the wheel, not the tire!) and was replaced at no charge but did required me to return the car and wait for hours while they tried to find the leak. Then they had to order parts so I had to return again when the replacement wheel arrived. One of the four tires looked like it had been sitting on the shelf for three years. Sure enough not too many weeks later it developed a rather large bulbous section on the wall. This one cost me out of pocket and though I had to return and wait for hours to get the repairs completed they did have a nice fresh tire in stock -- hmm, wonder when they ordered that one in stock? Makes one wonder if the problem never would have happened if I had received four fresh tires in the first place. SUMMARY: The problems I experienced could have happened at any tires store. The slow service is unforgivable. I've watched an entire set of tires and wheels balanced and installed in 30 minutes. At Firestone you can wait 30 minutes before anyone even realizes you are there for service. I would be willing to pay 50% more to shop somewhere that get's off their butt and moves when there is work to be done and similarly treats you like a valued customer. EDIT: I would like to add that the above service experience was from 2005. I've refused to visit any Firestone location nationwide because of the "burn." read more

We have been using the Firestone at 800 N Military Highway for the past 7 years, since we have lived in this area. Zach, Bryce and the rest of the team at Firestone are the best we have encountered anywhere. They are the most honest, hard working, customer oriented store I have been to. On two occasions that they were not able to make the repairs needed for my vehicles, they either transferred (at their cost) to the dealer and they paid for the repairs, or they reimbursed my entire amount, even though they had countless hours and parts in the car --- just to make things right with their customer. On both occasions, I never asked for this, they just did it because they felt it was the right thing to do. Let me be clear - they usually get things done the right way, the first time. Received an alignment and VA state inspection. After leaving and reviewing my bill I noticed a $5.10 charge on "shop supplies." So I called to inquire what shop supplies were used for an inspection and an alignment. I was given the run-around. 1) to drive the vehicle up on the alignment machine. (that is labor) 2) used rags for the alignment machine.(you don't need rags for an alignment you are making adjustments to a machine) 3) for the state inspection (which is illegal) Asked him to check my technician's written report to see what he actually used that I should have been charged for. After debating with the first guy and a second guy for about 30 minutes on made up possible charges he says something somewhat legitimate. Finally, the second guy comes up with we put lubricant on every car to make alignment adjustments. Where lubricant is a legitimate shop charge If it is used on every car it is now a standard part of doing the repair. In the end, I don't believe this company used any shop supplies for the alignment. They are simply taking advantage of many customers a few extra dollars at a time. I continued to ask for an honest answer on what I was being charged for. So many dealerships take advantage of unknowing customers and this place definitely did! It is not about the money it is about having integrity: doing right when no one is looking! read more

Ive been here a few times. They over charge, they do not tell you what they are charging you for before they do the work and they are very slow. I dropped my 4runner off on Saturday at 8:30am, the manager Stephanie said i would be able to have it by the end of the day if i could leave it all day. I agreed. I called them an hour before they closed so that i could have my truck. I was informed that it wasn't ready but should be ready soon to come on up there. I head up there, my ride leaves, I am then informed that it will not be ready today because there is another issue. I am not sure why it took them from 8:30am to 6pm to work on the car. Then Sunday, their power was off all day. I am unsure why the brakes cant be put on without just hand tools but whatever. I finally got my 4runner back Monday around noon. If it took you 2.5 days to work on it, just to put brakes on and inspect it, why wasn't it the 1st vehicle to be worked on once power was restored. I was told by the manager that they couldn't safely put the tires on without power... OK well then Monday morning, if all you had to do is put the tires on, why wasn't it done until hours after they opened? I was told that i couldn't keep the calipers but I did get the rest of the old parts. I was told the calipers were rusted and seized, but when i saw them, they were not rusted. I didn't have any problems w the vehicle before i went there. all i needed was new brakes to pass inspection. I got a coupon online for $60 off the brakes, but then learned that i was quoted the price of the brakes with the discount already added, without my knowledge. I was also told that i was not charged for certain things but it still ended up being pretty expensive and it took entirely too long. I wont ever go here again. read more
