My wife scheduled an appointment to have her brakes replaced, but the experience was disappointing from the moment she arrived. Instead of providing good customer service, the employee at the front desk was condescending and dismissive throughout the interaction. Despite scheduling a brake service in advance, they weren't even sure they had the necessary parts, which raises the question of why the appointment was accepted in the first place. On top of that, the employee repeatedly addressed her by my name, even though the appointment was under hers, and continued to mispronounce our last name after being corrected. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of who they are. Based on this experience, we chose to take our business elsewhere. I can't recommend this location and hope management takes customer service more seriously. read more

I would give zero stars if I could...straight up. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E place to get tires done and here's why: I got 4 new tires on my car and one of them was a bad one (my PSI went from 36 to 22 in a matter of not even a full day), so I had to go back and have them fix that defunct/bad tire. To make matters worse, after putting these supposed 'better' tires on my car, I was told that 'the alignment was off,' so I agreed to have them service/fix that. Come to find out, IT WASN'T FIXED PROPERLY EITHER! Big surprise...NOT! Also worth noting, while I was there waiting for my car to be serviced, I noticed a staff member smoking on the job. I booked online on Monday June 9 to have 4 new tires fitted here on June 12. Got reservation number from them via email and several appointment reminders by text. I arrived today and service desk guy said no appointment, none of the tires I ordered etc etc. Totally crap experience. I am going elsewhere. I will never try using this company again. read more

I got new tires at Mt Dora Firestone, went to look at tire date to make sure they were not a year and half old , noticed my rims are scratched. All little circles are on the rim where they took the tire off. Not too happy , the thing is they weren't even gonna tell me that they scratch my rims If I hadn't gone out and inspected my tires, I wouldn't have known, although they did reimburse me some money for them after I complain that they ruined my rims . read more

When a client calls and would like to schedule an appointment, they should not be placed on hold for more then 10 minutes. I dropped my car off around 9:30am on Wed. By placing keys In the drop box after filling out the form. I saw the person immediately pick up the keys. This was a 30K mile service. No call on Wed. No call on Thursday. I had to call on Friday morning to be told that the service had already been done. I asked, why haven't I've been notified? They just simply replied I don't know. This is the third time this has happened. A customer outside waiting told me the same thing, that they don't seem to call you when the job is done. This Firestone thinks that you need them and they don't need you by the way they do business. Since my company pays for all the work done on my car, I will be taking it somewhere else, maybe to the dealer to get the work done since this place most likely doesn't need my business. read more

Lone females beware! Such a disappointment! I've used Firestone in the past to put tires on my Honda Fit. I needed an oil change and I found a coupon for $24.99 so I decided to try them out for something more than my tires. I scheduled an appointment and arrived a few mins early. The guy pulls up my car on his screen and is reading something. He tells me it's going to be $55 for the oil change. I whipped out my phone and pulled out the coupon and he tells me that according to the manufacturer I have to use synthetic oil which is why it's more money. I said; "nooooo it doesn't". He turns his computer screen towards me and says; "that's what it says". I don't think he expected me to read I think he thought I would just take him at his word. Well, of course, it didn't say it HAD to have synthetic oil it said that 'synthetic oil MAY be used if it meets the requirements'. Shame on him. About an hour and 15 mins later he comes to me with two filters; the cabin filter and air filter. You can see they are dirty and in need of replacement...the cabin filter had a ton of leaves in it even. I told him to go ahead and change the air filter that I would change the cabin (I know they are $5 on Amazon) and it was only going to cost $25 for the air filter (I can buy online for $15 but I figured I'd just let them do it)...Well, it was going to be over a 30-minute wait until they could get a filter delivered. I'd already been there well over an hour so I said to forget it. The scheduled appointment oil change took almost TWO HOURS! I get home, go to Amazon and order the air filter and cabin filter for $20. It arrives and I go to replace them and my next surprise is that they didn't even bother to tip the cabin air filter over to empty the leaves. They just put everything back in as-is. I know I didn't pay them to remove the leaves but c'mon...ridiculous. All around just a shameful service. I think they saw a 50-year-old lady all by herself and first tried to tell me I needed to use expensive synthetic oil and also dragged their butts when they realized they weren't getting more than $25 from me. read more

Went in for literally just an oil change and left with the bottom of my car scraping the ground (an actual screech) AND with my tire pressure lights on that will now not turn off. Is it really that hard to do a simple oil change on a 3 year old car?? read more

This place is one of a kind if your looking for somewhere to take your vehicle for service or repair. We have had a lot of bad luck lately with our vehicles and Firestone has been fantastic. They want to get you back on the road, not try to sell you other services you don't need. They have gone above and beyond for our family and we will definitely be back! These guys are always awesome. They truly work w integrity. I've taken my car in to get new brakes, just to have them tell me I don't really need new brakes for another 6 months or so....who does that!?! I've used them exclusively since they opened this location - prob over 5 years now. When I had a tire issue, they warrantied them out w no issue whatsoever. Recommend them highly! PS Walt is my fav! Came in for 1 tire to get installed... Waited about hour 30 mins, figured should be done already after waiting that long.. So I get up and look outside my car is sitting outside and no one even bothers to tell me that my car is done? So been sitting for awhile and don't even get told my car is done until I got up and say my car is outside? Then took another 15 mins to even get the keys and pay because the guy that did the work on my car was talking outside with everyone else that worked there and didn't finish the stuff on the paper work or give my keys back lol .. I would recommend this business...NEVER! Spent 6 hours, $500+ and car is still not fixed and have placed two follow up calls (without call back) about parts they were going to order because mechanic/manager offered to tape together parts together but first speed bump out of garage knocked tape apart from car. I started my morning out at Tires Plus but after bad customer service I took my business over to Firestone. What a great decision! I walked in and was greeted and asked how they could help. I had a tire in my trunk that needed a plug. He walked out to the car and rolled the tire in and said you can leave it with us and we can call you when it's ready which worked out perfectly. I gave a 1 star because I couldn't leave 0. I called and told them I needed a front-end alignment and front tire. I would bring in the 2007 Ranger and asked for a check-over and let me know of any 'issues. I operate a machine shop and routinely take care of 'issues" the local automotive shops can't address. I later got a call from someone, I think the mechanic who I could barely understand. He was trying to sell me a "deal" on 4 tires, I attempted to explain the rear tires were fine. He kept talking over me and I asked him to listen to me rather than talk over me. He stated he would get the shop Manager. The shop Manager who's name is James also insured me he would personally inspect the truck and call me back and let me know of any "defective" parts requiring replacement. James called me and stated the lower ball joints were so "loose" that, that was probably the tire wear problem. I stated if they were loose to replace them. James also stated the brake pads were so bad and "over-heated" they need to be replaced. I said if that is the case then do so but save the parts for my inspection. I go to pickup the truck and look over the parts. The ball joints were as "tight" as new ones ,no sign of wear and the brake pads would almost pass as 'new"! No signs of any issues whatsoever. I can buy two lower ball joints with 10 year warranty for under 30 dollars. I was charged$193.98 for the pair of ball joints and then $299.99 to install them. I ended up paying $1035.62 for two front tires, two lower ball joints, front end alignment and front brake pads. This was the "discounted" price. An absolute case of robbery. I suppose James is so accustomed to this practice, he made no attempt at covering up the theft . I had been recommending Firestone for several years since they have been doing my oil changes w/o any issues. This was the first time I had them do anything of any significance and will be the last time. This place is a RIP OFF! Do yourself a favor and choose any of the other auto repair facilities in the area. I brought my car in 6 months ago to patch up my tire from a nail. I was told the nail was too close to the tire wall so it could not be repaired but needed to be replaced so I chose to replace it. Yesterday I brought my car in again for a nail in a different tire and was told the nail was "too large" and could not be patched but the tire needed to be replaced. What a coincidence! I told them I wasn't purchasing a new tire and that I would take my vehicle elsewhere for repairs and was told I couldn't drive on the tire bc it was a "liability issue" for them. Are you kidding me?!?! Luckily for him he reconsidered and put my tire back on and I had it patched down the road at Pep Boys. What a joke this place is. My wife and I's cars are both 15+ years old. I have over 150,000 miles on my car and my wife has almost 240,000 miles on her car. Both times I have brought in our cars for engine issues, this Firestone has treated us very well. They have a reasonable fee for technicians' time diagnosing the issues with the engine and they always call me before they do any work on our cars. They go in detail with what is wrong, what they recommend to fix the issues, and the prices involved. My wife and I are young, newly weds. And, therefore, are currently strapped for cash. The workers at Firestone understood this when I brought in her car this morning and worked with us to get the prices down and get my wife's car safely on the road again. We are a two car household once again (which is greatly needed as we both work full-time and are in school) and can still pay rent! Thank you, Firestone! read more

Had to give one star or could not leave a post. But they dont deserve that. My daughter went in to get brakes checked. They told her she needed everything done. Never offered to show the parts or what was wrong with them. They said it would be $800. She said she would have to wait. And the person working the desk said well you have a card with $1600 on it you can use. She asked about if it was her dads credit card. They said no she had a card with $1600 to use. I had opened a credit card through them over a year ago to put tires on her car. And that was the card they was referring to. She asked a couple more times if this was her dads card. They said no. Sp she had them do the work. When I seen the charge I called and the Manager claimed to be going to look into it but several days later nothing. When I called back he claimed to be gonna prosecute his employee but also my daughter. When his employee pulled up and charged a card with out it present. Called corporate and filed a claim and no call from the area manager. Called back and Regional manager called. Was more worried about how they was being paid then his employee ILLEGALLY charging a card not present. And obviously to cover theirselves they deleted the card off her files. They are SHADY to say the least. read more

I highly recommend this Firestone. I took my Mercury in today for a checkup before a long trip. They asked if I had an appointment, which I didn't. They were obviously very busy, but immediately fit me in. The mechanic was friendly and efficient while putting air in the tires and adding oil and wiper fluid. He even checked out and diagnosed a door lock problem. The whole visit took less than 10 minutes. When I asked for a bill, they said not to worry about it, "just remember us in the future." Horrible. Set an appointment for 4 new tires, as required. They were still hours late. When I got the car back- EVERY TIRE had a wildly different air pressure. one was 24, one was 45, on was 30 and the other was 35. I've never had that happen before in all the tire services I've done (a lot) Then, I found they messed up the tire pressure monitor and didn't bother to reset it. I brought my Jeep in on a Friday at 3pm to repair a clutch master cylinder and the job wasn't completed until Wednesday. That's 5 days later. While installing the new master cylinder on Saturday they broke a clip on the hose coming from the transmission. First they ordered the wrong part, then the next day couldn't get the part until after they closed. Nothing but excuses and incompetence. Do your self a favor and stay away from Firestone in Mt. Dora, I have never had this much frustration and delay from a mechanic. read more

I was on my way to help my mom move out and I was pulling a trailer and my truck decides it was a good time to blow a rear brake cylinder leaking brake fluid by the bottle I had NO brakes. I pulled in to the Firestone here and They were very Helpful and CURTIS CROSBY the Technician was very Knowledgeable and was very Quick to get me going again and did a great job. AT A GREAT PRICE! Showed up for an alignment I desperately needed for my car. Had to use it the next day for a trip to Tampa. Arrived at about 515pm, They closed at 7pm. I was telling the guy I needed to find the reason for a clunking in the front end along with an alignment. I was promptly told to slow down as there wasn't enough time to get all I wanted done. I am a very passive aggressive person and brush most things off when people decided to be rude. I was then told that they might not have a mechanic available to do the job. Hmmm, Well they thankfully did. I later put two and two together when i saw that they had another truck behind me also doing an alignment. So if you didn't have a mechanic to do my alignment then tell me who's doing the grey Chevy up on the rack right now?? Im assuming I was trying to be persuaded away and the time when he was ''(looking)'' for a mechanic to do the job was just bull. So after a nice long 2 hr chill session in the lounge my car was finally put on the lift at 7pm or so. I am satisfied with the job itself with the exception they were in such a rush to get it done they failed to align the steering wheel. Lost my trust with Firestone. Have been loyal customer for years and have directed all personal and fleet vehicles for service and maintenance. Traveling thru Florida and had a very slow leak in one of the tires. I brought the car to this Firestone and provided receipt that tires were recently purchased and road hazard protection was purchased for the tires. I figured it should be a no cost flat repair. They came back and told me that I need to purchase a new tire because tire was un-repairable (how bad can the tire be if it took 4 days to leak about half of the air pressure out). I figured it should still be a no cost repair since the tire was pretty much new and it had hazard protection. Wrong, they was not going to let me leave without paying something, just wouldn't look right for their sales numbers. They said i had to pay for the prorated portion of the road hazard. I should have brought it to another tire repair shop and just paid for a standard flat repair which would have cost me less. read more
