I knew that was the problem. I also knew the car I was bringing was an older "clunker" that I did not want to invest much into for repairs. Upon arrival, I attempted to explain this to the receptionist. She didn't even make contact with me, but instead just told me that the mechanic would take care of things. I should have insisted on speaking to someone but I wanted to trust the process. When I received the quote, I knew it was way off. I reached out to my mechanic (who also has Yelp reviews of 4.6+ as well) and asked if it sounded strange. He said he could beat it by $400, and probably more. I picked up my car (which still cost me a $125 diagnostic service fee) and took it to my other mechanic who did the work for $800 less. I'm sure The Hub stands by their work and their quote, but that is just so, so far off and a bit toned def to this customer's needs. All your receptionist had to do was listen to me and consider my request, but instead, you lost a potential new customer from the CY neighborhood. I hate that because I want to support local joints. From what other reviews say, this is a highly reputable place to take your vehicles -- so I can't argue its quality. I can only warn the consumer of its seemingly astronomical, pricey quotes.

I was frantic to say the least considering I live at 385/Riverdale. Well, I made to this location, pulled into the lot n by then it was fully flat. A guy saw me and came out to meet me n I explained I had run over a rock!!!!‍ He preceded to tell me to pull to a bay n then he checked it out, put air in it but we both heard the air coming back out. He then said hold on let me get someone else. He brought a guy out who bent down n found the leak and to my already bad day said it was in the side wall. Yikes. But they said we got you. You be ok. The guy took off my bad tire n put on my donut, mind u I'd just bought the vehicle a month ago. So yea, I'm a lil nervous. These two gentlemen Mike & Gabe were attentive, calm and most friendly in my time of need. I made it home on the donut. Lollol. I wanted to Thank these guys, but they wouldn't take any token of my appreciation which further made my day. So though I didn't have service this time I won't forget for future choices in my automotive needs. Kudos to these fellows n the mgmt that hired them. . They've been maintaining my 20-year-old truck beautifully since maybe 2012. Sometime in 2021-22…read morethey did a complete brake overhaul--a flush, new rotors, pads, etc. I've NEVER had a complaint about their work, they're very competent and competitively priced. Here's the problem--they do a routine inspection checking all the fluids, brake pads, tires, alignment, etc., but the last time I was there, less than 18 months and 7,000 miles after my complete brake job, their "inspector" reported that my brake fluid was SHOT, and needed to be flushed. He even furnished a picture of the test strip he supposedly used. Remembering that they had just done all of that work on my previous visit, I declined the unnecessary service, and just had them change the oil, rotate the tires, and replace a belt. When I asked the manager, WTF? He stood by the technician's report and even "postured" a little like he was daring me to question it. I just rolled my eyes and walked away. He knew he was busted. I've attached the pictures they sent me. One end of the test strip is for coolant, the other is for brake fluid. The "technician" swapped in a bad brake fluid test strip from some other car for his photograph. I took the vehicle home, bought a GOOD brake fluid testing unit online. It arrived the next day, and showed that my brake fluid was like new. I checked it again last week (July 2025), it's still in great shape. I drive It less than 5,000 miles a year and it stays in a very well insulated garage. I could tell you about the time they stripped the threads on my oil drain plug, and how it leaked all over my spotless garage floor on Christmas Eve. Or how they sent me pictures of oil leaking out of the pan (I delayed having this repair done and it magically cured itself!) Or the time they replaced my spark plugs twice within a 20,000 mile period (because I wasn't paying attention and said to go ahead and do it) --but all of that is water under the bridge. So basically, in May of 2024, a tech and his manager both tried to trick me into paying for an unnecessary brake flush. Not the first time they had tried something like this, but it was the first time I noticed. I see the reviews since then seem to have declined, as well. Maybe I'm not alone? Not a very Christian thing to do, IMO. I read a Book once that said it's against the rules to violate or misrepresent the "name, image, and likeness" of the Almighty. Somebody will have to answer for that someday. Not my place, not my problem. I'm selling the old truck soon anyway, won't be going back to CBA. It's a shame, because like I said, they did very good work for me, they did it fast, and were very polite.

I declined. I called to see if the car was ready , they again tried to up-sale so I again declined. I went to pick it up. We reviewed the three items, I paid then walked out to the car. It was obvious the tire rotation wasn't done. Went back in, and showed they charged me and explained no rotation. Same from tires has not been rotated. They came back and offered to refund saying the car tires didn't meet corporate expectations. Like wtf? The car is a CPO and not even a year old. One front tire was replaced two months ago. They overlooked it, charged me and didn't want to do it. Just unscrupulous and so petty. I won't be back. They are quick to up-sale but don't even fix the issues I paid for.

Typical double talk, upselling, promises that "this will fix it," textbook example of the problems people have with many repair shops. That guy Jon at the East Memphis location is a 100% double talker. We agreed what to do, then they decided to go rogue and do something else, then want 2x as much. I said no. Paid less with the promise it was corrected, then the problem not only came back the next day, but it's much worse. I don't know what they did to it, but now it has 25+ error codes after they cut the wiring harness open to the transmission module (then later said it didn't need that, as I originally tried to tell them). Whatever you say, it goes in one ear and out the other. When I called back that it still wasn't fixed (after a promise it was definitely all good now), there it started... The old mechanic-shop screw. "Well the next step is more diagnosis at $150 an hour, and we estimate 3 hours..." (just to find the problem, not fix it), when the diagnosis it what I paid for in the first place. They keep throwing parts and the runaround at both it and you for as long as you'll keep handing them money. Car was at least drivable with the problem before, now it is not. Doesn't even run anymore. To make matters worse, I brought it there because I already knew the owner Stave Woodard from a few years back. I did good, honest electrical and welding work at his previous home in Bartlett. -It was him that said they would need another $450+ after it wasn't fixed. I'm out $315, but glad it wasn't the $650 they wanted at first. Money down the drain, plus a car that's now a boat anchor. So if you take your car to them after reading this, please come back to this review and read it again. I tried to tell you.
