Extremely disappointing service. I went in for a system check up and brake work, as they were sounding rather squeaky. After finishing work and paying 700 for the services, I found the brake noise was still persisting in the front. I originally asked them to replace the front brakes as they were still on warranty. Despite this notion they replaced just the rear brake pads and rotors. Also after further inspection, the rear rotors are completely rusted, while the front rotors which I've had for 4+ years are clean. If I'm going to be charged 700 to not fix the issue, I'd hope they at least issue me new equipment. Do not get service here. read more

Shining example of why people don't trust mechanics anymore. Changed some belts on a friends car, noticed her tie rod boot was completely dry rotted and falling apart. Nothing strange on a 20 year old car. But when I asked the last time someone had been under there she said Firestone, last week for an alignment and got a list for service suggestions. One of which was belts- both were still in decent shape btw.... No mention of the boot being 60% gone and the inner tie rod being on its way out. Which leaves me with three guesses: 1 tech was having a really bad day, happens but inexcusable when doing alignment with failing components staring at you. 2 broke it completely while doing the alignment, say nothing. charge em for parts and labor next time while letting it go completely to crap and potentially unsafe. 3saw it and left it knowing they'd charge next time in regardless. Sheet said they adjusted all 3 angles, didn't look like lock nut had been budged on that one tho..... Any combination of those three scenarios equals hack mechanic and very likely a dishonest one too. Final note, 2 of 3 local parts stores had boot and both tie rods in stock. Whatever logic in firestones mind-doing the job right was too much to ask. However per their service suggestions they would be quite happy to charge her 72$ to change a breaklight bulb. I Wish I was making that number up. Let you readers do the math before going here. I personally wouldn't trust them to fix my lawnmower. read more

I received the masterclass in driving away customers from Ken and his team. 1. Told me I didn't have an appointment despite me scheduling one via Tire Rack. Fine I get it, 3rd party systems can fail. We schedule an appointment for the next day and I leave my wheels at the shop with them. 2. I come in for my second appointment (stand and wait forever again) 24 hours later, they haven't touched the tires and wheels. I get told it will be an hour wait and that they will load the wheels back into the back. Ok. Seems reasonable. 3. Two hours later I get a call saying the car is ready. Wheels aren't loaded. Still in the same dirty bags they came in. Wheels on the car are covered in grease. I wipe the grease off with a rag to discover fresh scratches along the edges of one of the wheels. I point the damage out to Ken and....... 4. He pulls one of his techs out to have explain to him how the tires go on to build a case that they somehow are not responsible for the damage. While I re-bag and load my wheels into the car myself. He then doubles down and asks me if I'm sure the damage is new. Bottom line: Ken is next to useless. His team does little to support him or the customers. What else can I say? Go to an independent shop. read more

The starter went out in my daughter's car, so she had it towed to Firestone in Corvallis. they overcharged her for the new starter, and also installed it wrong. In their installation, they didn't bother with crimping on a terminal clip from the ground wire of the new starter, and instead just wrapped the bare wire around the post, no insulation on it and no nut to hold it on the post. See photo. Additionally, and without her approval, they billed her $42 to charge the battery. When she brought the car home, I tested the battery and it showed that they only charged it up to 70% capacity. Lucky break, I charged up the battery with my charger. The next day, the car would not start at all. Fortunately, I was able to reach the starter connections from the top side of the engine compartment and discovered that the voltage supply plug had not been fully seated to the pin assembly on the new starter. Lucky break here again. All in all, their bill was about $150 over the normal cost for this job, and we only have to pay for another mechanic to fix Firestone's crap installation of the ground wire. Come on, a terminal clip only costs about 10 cents and would have only taken the tech about 30 seconds to put on the end of the wire. That is one lazy tech. Unacceptable work, and based on the reviews that I read in this forum, I'd say we got out cheap. Wish I would have done my due diligence and researched the Yelp reviews before allowing my daughter to bring her car into Firestone in Corvallis. That is all. read more

I worked for this company for a week and a half. The day before payday, my hours were shorted (roughly 430$) worth of pay. I was told to call HR and deal with it myself. Got that fixed and then come payday boom I don't even get a paycheck, same thing. Told to Talk to HR myself. I was then told by my District manager that I was basically lying and that it was impossible I didn't get paid. Now here we are. Monday. 3 days after payday and I still don't have my paycheck. Overcharges DOUBLE compared to any and other Auto shop! Recently had a situation where we broke down on the weekend and Firestone was the only place open on Saturday. Being from out of town we we're on a time limit to get back home and couldn't wait for another shop to open on a week day. Long story short: They tried charging me $430+ for changing 6 spark plugs. (which in reality cost under $80 dollars)... This was already after charging us $100 for diagnostic (little above Avg)  and $159 for a new battery (def above average and they said 'they had to be their battery/products', so i couldnt go to walmart and drop one off' so whatever- we're on a time crunch).... But FOUR HUNDED FIDDY DOLLARS?!THAT'S RIDICULOUS!... When I asked Firestone about the costs, I was told that "each spark plug and cost $53per, plus $100 labor." ... Wut. No. That is false. I can factly tell you, that no, it does not. All other car mechanics (that were closed) are $250 tops. Befuddled, I went to AutoZone 1.5 miles away in an $8 Uber ride, and spent a just under $100 total on parts (spark plugs cost $7.50 each, at max), and then 1.5 hrs of my time and a YouTube video. Boom. Done. Car runs fantastic now. #DoNotuseFirestoneEVER Ps. And nothing but respect to the Firestone employees- they were super nice. The service manager was very professional and respectful and supportivce of our decisions. But this isn't about them, this is about the crappy company and their executives that they work for, that enjoys taking advantage of people. Charging DOUBLE the cost of what every other place charges for a simple Spark plug swap out? Ridiculous.  Attached is the receipt Firestone gave us as well as the quote. Absolutely terrible service and I'd recommend at all cost doing business with someone else and avoid this place. I'm from Portland and got a flat tire on the way down to Corvallis Sunday morning. Sadly this place is the only tire repair place open on Sunday. Took the tire in knowing it needed to be replaced but simply wanted it patched so we could get back to work Portland and deal with new tires. Old grumpy guy helping us, clearly hates his job and looks like he's mad at life said "we can't repair this and they don't have an equivalent tire for replacement".... So we made the best of things and had fun spending the night on Corvallis - took the tire into Les Schwab first thing in the morning, guy comes out and is like "sure no problem, we'll have you in a he road in about an hour. THANK YOU Les Schwab, great customer service and you've earned my business going forward. Does not honor lifetime alignments that were purchased with the vehicle- claims it's lifted pre-purchase even though I paid for it with the lift. Skimps on work and lies about reasons for it- said I had a 'body mount bolt that was loose), it's torqued to spec. They didn't want to align the vehicle because it required them to adjust the camber, castor and the toe. This is the ONLY firestone that has refused my lifetime alignment on multiple occasions. When they would align it the alignment was was off enough I had to take it to their competition Les Schwab to get it fixed. read more

I have bought a new (used) Chevy Express van which has stock rims and good tires. I am selling my other Chevy Express van, but want to keep the aluminum wheels with good tires. I asked this shop to swap the tires & rims from one vehicle to the other. They refused to do this because the tires were used. I told them that the Firestone store in Spokane swapped used tire winter tires and rims for summer tires and rims all the time. 'We can't do that'. They obviously don not need business. I tried to buy a set of tires, employing Firestone's price match policy. First visit, assistant manager says he can't do it, no reason given. I issued an online complaint and soon got a call from the store manager, John, who assured me that the price would be honored, and that he'd have an out-the-door price ready for the appointment we made for a few days later. When I arrived for that appointment, John did not have the price ready, and he was shy two technicians. I rescheduled again, with John reassuring me that all would be ready. When I arrived for that appointment, JOHN WASN"T THERE. I left. John called me later that day with the same spiel as before, and we made another appointment, which I WILL NOT BE GOING TO. Terrible, I made an online appointment added the tires that I wanted. I showed up at 7:40 for an 8 appointment. I was told they don't have those tires available in any of their stores (why are they offered). They never bothered to even look at the inline scheduling to order any tires for the appointment. Proceeded to sell me another set and gave me a little discount which was nice, but the tires would not be there until 10-1. I told them the spare was on the truck front drivers side (black rim vs 3 chrome rims) and the other rim was in the bed of the truck. I left my truck and called at 3:45. I was told it was on the rack. Got dropped off at 4 and at 6:10 the tires finally went on the truck. They had thrown out my spare and put the new tirw on the black rim. I was told that I now have to call the manager to get the new tire put on the correct rim and the spare put back on it's rim (after they dug it out of the dumpster. They had my truck for over 10 hours for 4 new tires that they didn't even install correctly. Never again, they better make the spare right or I am going to be very disappointed. read more

Firestone downtown Corvallis is the first place I go when I have car trouble or questions. They are open 7 days a week, which is the only tire store in town to do so. This is very helpful, like when I experienced a blown tire on the highway on a Sunday afternoon and got it fixed same day so it didn't disrupt my work week. When they are not swamped, I can ask technicians questions about my car or cars in general, which led me to keep all the cars I have had in tip top shape, increasing their longevity. This has helped me to save money by driving them longer. They are up front about repairs they won't do and will make good recommendations so your car gets the best care and this is so important! They haven't tried to upsell me on services I don't need or attempt jobs that require a specialist, which is common occurance for those finicky European imports. read more

NOT ENFORCING COVID PRECAUTIONS. I sat in this lobby for a good 30 minutes and watched as the front desk employee casually chatted with a customer who was not wearing a mask. When I approached the front counter the customer did not pull his mask up and the employee did not ask him to. When I went to pay, I could see through the window that the employee working in the shop was also not wearing a mask. First time I should have known how they work. Had tires to be installed here ordered by TireRack and they tacked on fees more than what they publish via TireRack. I paid them and got my tires. Later was quoted $170 for a partial synthetic oil change because they don't stock 10w-40 for my older car. Well, that was motivation to go to AutoZone and do it myself. Cost me $44 for 10 quarts of partial synthetic oil and the filter so they were going to screw me for $125 to drain, fill, and install that filter. If that's how they work, I'm gonna pass. read more

My day driver/mechanic needed help replacing a power steering pump. The part is on the bottom of the motor so it is hard to replace without a lift. When Chuck asked how much it would cost he was quoted $220.00. They asked if he would like a diagnostic for another $99.00. Chuck said "No". They printed up the paperwork with the $220.00 quote, and Chuck signed it. When Chuck went to pick up the taxi, they had included the $99.00 diagnostic against his will and told him he had to pay for it for the car to be released. i have never had a mechanic add charges without calling first. When my "Trusty" mechanic did it one time, he gave me free service down the road. Firestone has/is/might add charges that you shouldn't have to pay for. Stay away from them. UPDATE: 24 hours after I placed this review, the management of Firestone, stepped in and took care of us. I would now consider my opinion of the business as neutral. Took my 1969 Camaro in for an alignment but as I pulled out of the store a piece of metal, presumably a wrench or other part, flew off the car from the engine bay. The fan was driven into the aluminum radiator and caused a loss of all the coolant. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the piece of metal in the roadway so the manager, Dylan, denies all responsibility. Though he did point out that the problem was likely caused by the fan being loose, as he wiggled the now broken fan. Yeah, it hasn't been loose for the last 5 years but being hit with flying metal tends to make that happen. The rest of the staff was polite and professional but Dylan seems to think I'm trying score a new radiator at his expense. Hands down the worst customer service experience I've ever had from a store manager. That condescending attitude might work with your other customers but don't tell me you know what happened to my vintage muscle car because you had a similar problem with your Suzuki Samurai. Next time try "So sorry. Let's get this thing looked at and see what can be done to fix it." As of this posting my car is still at their shop pending an examination by their arbitration firm. Tho Dylan says this could take up to 2 weeks, lol. It would take less than an hour to fix the car but they're going leave it in their shop for weeks. Great time management. I'll update this review later. 11/21/15 ***UPDATE*** It's now been a week. I had taken my vehicle to the Firestone in Eugene a year ago and purchased the lifetime alignment. I went in a month ago or so to have them align it again. I honestly believe that the only thing they did was move the car around to the other side of the shop. I contacted the Corvallis Firestone and expressed my concerns. I made an appointment and waited while they took a look. After 45 minutes, the manager gave me a list that showed the exact alignment that THEY had done and some things that I needed to know about my car. I trust this shop and I appreciate the honesty of the staff. They didn't say anything negative about the Eugene shop but with the amount of the alignment completed, I feel even more confident that they didn't do anything to my car. Plus, I never got any paperwork from the Eugene shop. I will return to the Corvallis Firestone. read more

Needed an emergency tire replacement and was stuck in downtown Corvallis. Normally I'm a Les Schwab customer, but my incident took place on a Sunday, so both Les Schwab locations were closed. (So was G&J Tire, my 2nd choice) So, I got a hold of Firestone and was able to get the car into the shop a couple hours before they closed. We took advantage of their $19.99 oil change offer, too, while we were there. Plus points for being open on Sunday (yay!) -- minus points for not having a working restroom (boo!). Overall, I was going to rate them a 3-star business for just doing their job (nothing special or fancy), but they get an extra star for being open on a Sunday. I don't know how much worse my day would have been if they had been closed! Nice job Firestone! :) read more

It seems like we always have car trouble in Corvallis, and what a good thing! This time our bumper fell half off the front of our car, and the other two shops we've gone to had people out sick, so were too overwhelmed to take a last minute repair. We rolled into Firestone an hour before closing and begged them to do anything to put our poor car back together. They made it look brand new, and were so nice and so fast. 10/10 would bumper again. read more

I took my car in to repair a slow leak in a tire purchased through Firestone not quite 5 years ago (with still 30,000 miles left on the very limited warranty) and was told that the tire could not be repaired, as it had a nail in the outside wall of the tire and would need to be replaced. In addition, I was told that my other tires had worn tread and it was recommended I replace 3 of my 4 tires, at a cost of $349.25. The tire with the leak was quoted at $93.99 (after a $9.40 deduction from limited warranty). The tire was repaired for free today by Les Schwab. There was (in reality) a small screw in the center of the tread and it was easily repaired (again, for free). Firestone Service Advisor (06 Troy, according to my print-out) flat out lied. Not recommending this business to anyone, ever. read more

I was just in recently for an oil change. When I went to pick up my car no one acknowledged what I asked them to look at, they didn fill my wiper fluids, and they also left my tire pressure light on which means they didn't even check my tire pressure. Last week my husband checked my oil before a long trip up to Seattle and he said it was overflowing. He knows a lot about cars and changes the oil on all of his cars, he said the person that did it just poured it in and didn't even check the levels afterwards. Thankfully he had checked it because that could have caused some serious damage. I'm so displeased with the service from this firestone I don't want others to have the same problems. Stay away from Firestone if you don't want to be ripped off. I took my vehicle in for alignment and tires. I had previously purchased a Lifetime Alignment package from them. They said my front wheel bearings were bad and needed replacement. This wasn't something I had noticed but I told them to go ahead. A few weeks later I had it in again for some brake work. There was a different person behind the counter this time. He called me up and said that my front wheel bearings were bad and needed replacement!!! I told him he should check my computer record of service before he tries to pull a scam on me. He made some defensive remark about how they sometimes get defective wheel bearings - yeah right. I had purchased the lifetime alignment when I was living in FL (Orlando). When I took it in for it's first "free" alignment they tried to sell me a bunch of unneeded extra services - brake shoe cleaning and rear brake adjustment were two of the services they said I needed. I was loosing coolant so I had them do a cooling system pressure test for $50. They said my radiator was leaking. I doubted their diagnosis as I has just had it replaced. I waited until we moved to Corvallis and I took it in to Gary's on 2nd St. They replaced the intake manifold gasket and cured the leak. Firestone is the absolute worst bunch of incompetent crooks out there! read more

I took my car over to repair a nail in one of my tires. The service desk person was nice and able to arrange service for my car within 30 minutes. However, the front desk proceeded to tell me that the treadwear was too deep and that store policy dictated they could not repair the tires. I took my car to a local competitor who fixed my tire without any questions. I had a long conversation with the other garage where I asked about treadwear. We measured the wear of my tires and they were all fine. I interpret that the local Firestone were more interested in selling me tires, than providing economical tire service to a graduate student. Congrats Firestone - I don't trust you and I won't be back. read more

I purchased a set of tires for my Nissan Xterra from Firestone tires Corvallis, OR. (Destination AT's) While I think these are good tires, I got a flat, drivers side, rear. It was two weeks before Christmas 2014 and I brought Xterra in for flat repair. Guy at counter told me he couldn't repair tire as it was near outside of tred on tire. He said it was a small nail and because it was 4WD I needed a new set of four tires. Road hazard would not apply to this situation. I explained I could not afford at this time so leave nail in tire. I took truck to a local tire competitor for flat repair and they fixed flat without any questions. A couple days later I received a phone call from same guy at counter offering me a deal on a new set of tires. This experience left me feeling somewhat distrustful and suspicious. read more

Terrible service. They refuse walk-ins or drop-offs for "complimentary service". Even with the bays empty, the desk service advisor says no. The problem is they sell their service with their tires. DON"T BELIEVE IT. Les Schwab, Beggs, anyone local will work you in, except for Firestone. I came in first thing in the AM ready to drop and let them work in a 15-minute max wheel and tire swap, with snow tires already mounted and balanced, and they refused to change them out. "It takes 45 minutes because we have to do the courtesy check on the rest of the car"... aka up sell stuff you don't need. This is after 2 years ago they refused to honor a lifetime alignment on another car because they couldn't find that model's specs in their computer. STAY AWAY! The extra couple bucks someplace else will pay off in spades, because other tire dealerships will actually honor their service and their contracts. Firestone in Corvallis will not. read more

First off, thank you Firestone for the new tires and the brake maintenance. However, when I asked for a battery installation, that's when it all went down hill. When I returned home to Portland, Oregon after installing a new battery I noticed that my speedometer would fluctuate rapidly and my lights flickered repeatedly. Soon enough when I went to go start my car it would completely die.. lights and all. So, I knew that obviously my (new) battery had to be the culprit. When I went to pop the hood I saw that it wasnt installed correctly and it had been brutally stripped inside of the battery itself and the bolt in which connected the led of the battery outlets and my van itself. After being stuck on the side of the road the night before and having to strategically flip the irreversible bolt to make it back down to Corvallis Firestine I came back to confront whoever's idea it was to strip the living soul of this poor battery and bolts. They told me it wasn't the right size bolt and whoever had my van before me was the reason this happened and additionally that it was up for discussion if they'd provide a warranty. After many hours, they agreed on the warranty and supposedly fixed the battery issue free of no cost. When I popped the hood, they had only changed the worst of the two and had left the other loosened and incorrect. Also, when I suggested they check for an exhaust leak they told me they couldn't find anything worth mention. When I got home to install storage in my van, I noticed a very obvious and apparent hole in my exhaust pipe. So this tells me that each time I came, they neglected to put care or even awareness in anything they did. Hopefully my tires don't fall off and my brake fluid isn't sugar water. read more

The worst costumer service. I had to wait in line for like 20 minutes and they had my car for 2 days to fix the tire . The tire was none repairable and we were told whatever happens to the tire before it hits 40,000 miles they will fix or replace. So we bought that warranty and we weren't told to buy another one. When I took the car to them, they had it with them for 2 days just to have them ask me for an extra 140$ because I didn't buy the "road hazard warranty" which again I was never told. I was told the warranty will cover anything before it hits 40,000. However, I had to ask them to take off their new tire and put my spare tire in instead of their new one. Basically I had to wait 2 and a half days and my warranty that I had for the tire was useless. It's just like scamming, I wouldn't recommend this place all. Also the day before the tire arrived my dad went to check on it and they didn't tell him about any fees neither did they tell me. read more
