I made an appointment on Wednesday for Friday at 10 on-line. My appointment was for an alignment being that I have the lifetime alignment package. Pulled up to Firestone at 9:40 and was told that they sent me an email canceling my appointment. This is the 2nd time that this has happened to me. I asked why and the guy stated that we can't get to that appointment around that time. He said but if you planned on leaving it we may be able to get to it. What's the purpose of offering a service for which the customer has paid for but the establishment don't want to honor? I left my car and they were able to get to it. Team was short staffed but the new manager Charlie and his service manager had top notch customer service and were very attentive to everyone who came in the door. I bought a car through Carvana, and upon delivery there were problems. The only locally authorized svc centers were these folks. The car was dropped off on Thursday and it is now the following Tuesday with no communication with me or with the warranty company that Carvana deals with. Really bad customer service. We kept having to push them to tell us what was wrong and to start working. They acted like they could have cared less. They also misdiagnosed what was wrong, so after purchasing a new battery.... our car died again on the freeway because it wasn't the battery, it was something with the terminal. read more

The only reason I'm giving two stars is that the first woman I spoke to was really nice and helpful. But as soon as I went to the service desk I was met with a rude geriatric who made it very clear he didn't even want to speak to me. It was quite apparent that he was thrown off by my appearance. Probably the rudest old man I've come across in awhile tbh his customer service was so bad I didn't even bother going to the other Firestone "where they had another tech". If you can't be bothered to talk to metalheads who need help with vehicles find another job bro. The worst service. Simple oil change and rotation scheduled for 8am. Guess my maintenance program reimbursement is not as valuable as the tires he just sold the walk in. My car is done, in parking space but they checked out two people and sold a set of tires to someone who just walked in. Then they answer phone stating they have 10 cars to service and would get w them if they could. When I asked for my keys, they still handles another person w a 10am appointment before me... my son needs 4 new tires. I will be goi g on down the road for those. Simple story. I'm from Nashville. Came into town because my mom is at the end stage of life. Last time to see her. Brand new 2021 Mazda 3 had a huge bulge on a tire. I called Mazda of Columbia first. Explained why I was in town and I needed help. No return call or anything from Mazda. BUT I called Firestone . Originally came in to them for road force balancing. They got my tires balanced and it eased good for about 2 weeks. I decided to take it back. I dropped it off at 7am and went home. I got a call 5 hours later saying that my tires were bad and I needed to let the company I purchased them from know. After talking a bit longer I found they never even checked the tires again. They said ,"we remembered your tires from last time and they are bad". After dealing with the other company with no success I gave in and bought new tires. Now it gets interesting. I ordered tires that were supposed to be in 2 days later. A week and no tires or phone call. I went in and spoke to them in person. They informed me I could just get a size up on my tires and it could be perfectly fine. I was ok so I ordered again. Nobody called again as promised so I checked to find the tires had arrived. I followed their instructions and dropped my truck off the night before. I called at 7:30am to confirm things were under way. They said my truck was on the rack and being worked on. Eight hours later and no call. I went up to the place and found my truck on the track with old tires on it STILL. I asked and they said ,"it was a drop off for overnight wasn't it?" Very poor customer service from bob and Nathan. I bought a set of brand new tires. The next day the tire pressure monitor light started flashing. I came back to store , bob made me wait 30 minutes before letting me know they didn't have the part. Bob told Me to come back the next day. He made me wait while Nathan went outside to recheck the sensor, he walked outside to talk to Nathan. When Nathan came back in he said the sensor was fine. My main complaint is about the misleading coupons. I found a coupon online that said $55 for a synthetic oil change (up to 5 quarts.) I figured that after paying for an extra quart or two (SUV), plus taxes I'd be spending around $70. NOPE. The bill came out to $95, which is absolutely absurd for a simple oil change. Extra Charges: $10 - New Oil Filter (I didn't realize this wasn't included) $3 - Recycle old filter $15 - 1.4 quarts extra oil ($11 per quart? Seriously?!? I can buy the EXACT same oil for $5 per quart at any auto store) $5 - Labor (shouldn't this be included already?) $7 - Tax Saying $55 is totally misleading when they know that it's going to be at least $70 before taxes. The additional $11 per quart of extra oil is gouging. It should not cost 2x what it does at a retail store. To top it all off, they put a sticker on the windshield saying that my next oil change is due 3,000 miles from now. Keep in mind, this is for SYNTHETIC oil, which manufacturers typically recommend changing every 10,000 miles (and newer studies are suggesting even longer). Even my car's manual says that the oil should be changed every 10,000 miles (even with conventional oil). Are they trying to fool people into getting unnecessary oil changes? I don't know how much of this problem is due to company policy, and how much is due to the policy at this particular location, but I will definitely be taking my vehicle to a place that's more upfront and honest about their prices from now on. Mentioning the possibility of extra fees in the nearly-impossible-to-read fine print does not excuse this practice either. The coupon should clearly state the FULL price you'll have to pay for the entire service instead of only showing part of the cost. read more

Absolutely terrible. The only reason we scheduled our oil change here was because we unfortunately have a lifetime alignment with them. We called yesterday and made an appointment for 1:30 today. We dropped it off at 1:20. Called back at 3:30 and was told that it wasn't ready yet but would be in an hour and a half. After I got my brother to drive me there, I got there and my car was in the same spot as when I left it. I went in and was told that my car hadn't been touched because we "didn't" have an appointment and we should have been told that when we dropped it off. They didn't offer a coupon or a discount or anything. As a business owner myself this is just bad business. We will NEVER go there again. read more

I've consistently had great service from this Firestone location. Recently I was told by another local mechanic that a repair would be $1700. When I got a second opinion from Firestone they quoted me $1450. However when they got in close they discovered it was a leak from a separate part that's much less expensive and the repair was reduced to $750. They could have totally done the less expensive repair and charged me the quote and I never would have known. That really made a big impact on me! The only downside is the wait is usually a pain. Worst service ever paid 673.89 for a repair that I was quoted 480.00 came out of store in tears I had to pay it or not get my car I live 2 miles from the Harbison Road Firestone store the car started making a terrible noise so I tried calling them it was close to closing time. So I took the car back this morning and I had to walk about 3/4 of a mile to work. They never called and around 5oclock I called and they said there was nothing wrong with it. My mother called and talked with manager and he was so rude to her. I was to nervous to take the children in the car so I just left it. I guess someway I'm going to have to have it towed somewhere to have it repaired. But I will not allow them to do this to me I will be making some phone calls tomorrow and see what steps I can take to make them accountable for overcharging and making the car undriveable. The worst experience and do not recommend them! I ordered 2 tires online, which was accepted and said they were in stock. My appointment was at 11:00 a.m. I arrived early only to be told they had one in stock and the other in route. They could've called to tell me this, but, did not. They now told me they would call when the other arrived, which they did, an hour later. Went back up there and proceeded to wait 2 hours for them to place 2 tires on my vehicle. I haven't had any actual work done on my vehicle other than oil changes here thus far, but speaking as a young female, I've been treated with fairness, kindness, and respect here. Nathan walked me through everything my car needs done, helped me prioritize the list of fixes, and showed me exactly where things were leaking etc. with my car on the lift. I learned a lot and he told me what to look out for so I don't get swindled by anyone else in the future. Exceptional customer service. The only reason I did not put five stars is that the mechanic felt my brakes pulsating and recommended new rotors but I haven't felt that thus far, and because I haven't had any work done on it yet. I went in for 4 new tires and an oil change for my company car. The first thing the guy says to me is "What make you think you need new tires"? Hmmmm, maybe the fact that I'm not an idiot, there's no tread left and oh yeah, I measured them myself with my tread depth gauge and they only read 4/32nds. It really irks me when I get that kind of attitude from a shop and I'm not even a woman. Makes me wonder how they treat the women that go in there. Anyway, no complaints with the service but when I picked the car up the tech that had parked it left the stereo on full blast on the hip hop station. Gee, thanks, I love having my kids ear drums blown with awful music. Luckily the speakers were not blown. Very unprofessional! read more

I came in to have my spare put on as I got a screw in one of the tires this morning. They said they would do it for free but after looking at my spare they let me know that it was not a full size tire. The commute to work is 45 on the interstate so it wouldn't work. They had my tire in stock and at a reasonable price so I asked if they could put on a new one. They had me finished in about 30min. I couldn't be happier. Thank you for the great service!! read more

While traveling thru SC on vacation, my Jeep broke down on the highway outside of Columbia. I needed a new radiator installed. The tow truck driver said that Firestone was the place to go. I called first and was assured they had the part and could fix it by late afternoon. I sat and sat and sat in the nice waiting area. I noticed the workers spent a lot more time on cigarette breaks than working on cars, but I was in no position to speed them up. Finally my car goes inside, then I see it outside. The manager came over and said the mechanic said your radiator is fine. I knew it wasn't and even put a mechanic on the phone to explain a few things to him. Did not sway him. I had to return to the manager and basically say whether or not it needs a radiator, I want a new one installed. By this time my mechanic had another car on the lift so I had to wait another hour before he looked at mine again. I watched as he yelled, slammed tools down, pouted, while working on my car. By now it was 6:15, they close at 7pm. I was called to the car by the manager, she said the mechanic wants to talk to you. He had the car on a lift, pointed up and said he cannot install a new radiator, because he cannot get the old one off, and showed me two small rusted bolts at the bottom of the radiator. He had a million excuses why he cannot get these bolts off, no cutting tool, can't use a torch, no hammer and chisel.....After being towed there and sitting there for 4 hours it came to this. Finally I said put it together and I will take it elsewhere. For the lack of ability to remove 2 small bolts, I did not have nearly $500 work done on my Jeep. I took it to a nearby shop where they replaced the radiator, and guess what, that was the problem, just as myself and the mechanic on the phone told the Firestone mechanic, and the other place was $150 cheaper ! Sitting in the waiting area so long, I was able to determine that it is a nice place to go if you need tires, but mechanical work, not so much. I would thank the young female manager working the front. She tried to get this going and was very good checking up on me, and also an older black male manager who tried helping me find a rental car in the area. But they could not make up for the lack of customer service displayed by the mechanic. read more

In the past I've had very good experiences at the Firestone location in Harbison. My last visit on Oct. 8, 2015 seemed to take a long time. Maybe it was because Columbia SC had just experienced their 1000 year flood. But this didn't seem evident at the time. I drove in the day before hoping to get an oil change and fluid check but their parking lot was packed. I decided to call and make an appointment. I showed up on time for my 11am appointment and asked for a oil change, fluid and brake inspection and to find out what belt was squealing on start up and why. The representative was friendly and patient. He quoted a price of $25. Which included a coupon discount that I did not have or even mention. I thought that was good business practice and classy! That is reason enough to return. Bottom line is that it took an hour for them to move my vehicle into a bay. Another hour later a different rep told me that everything was fine and finished. I asked about the belt squeal which is what had originally prompted the appointment. The rep looked confused and said she'd go ask the mechanic. She returned and said all the belts are fine, no problems. I said that there is a loud squeal on startup which is getting worse. She said "he didn't hear a squeal but they're only $100 each to install." "We can replace them both if you want." I told her I wasn't going to replace something that wasn't broken. Especially bother belts! But I would like to how I could stop it. She ran back to talk to the mechanic. Thirty minutes later the mechanic came and told me that he thought that rust was causing the squeal, so he lubricated the area and it had stopped. I thanked him and paid the agreed amount of $25. I got in my vehicle and held my breath as i turned the key. Silence! I smiled and was suddenly okay with the 3 hours I spent waiting. The next morning however, I turnwd the key and was once again greeted with the very loud high pitch screech of the belt. Sorry neighbors! All in all I think they just had an off-day. Great service with integrity. I had taken my car to get wheel stud replaced in the morning. Later that day they stated the brake line was broken. They werent sure if it was broken due to aging/corrosion or mechanic error but they will replace it for free. They ordered a few pieces but it didnt fit right. After two days of me taking Uber to work, they called to say it was ready. The studs were replaced n brake line fixed. No charge at all! I was completely surprised and naturally ecstatic!! The front desk service rep was very nice. Dont remember his name but he had red/blondish hair n distinct Southern accent. I would totally recommend this place. Do NOT go here! Worst experience I've ever had in my entire life. I can't even fathom how they can be in business with such crappy customer service. They told us we would have a 3 hour wait on just a basic oil change. We called back 3 1/2 hours later and they said, "We're bringing your car in right now. Give us 30 minutes." 1 whole hour later we showed up and the car hadn't even been moved. Taking longer than you said is bad, but forgivable. Telling someone on the phone you need an additional 30 minutes and you're about to start shouldn't have had to happen, but possibly forgivable. What is not forgivable is the lack of give a #$%!'s they gave when we arrived 4 hours later to find out they have done nothing. We asked for our car, the guy said okay and just left for 10 minutes. Finally he came back with another guy and they just said, "I'll do your car now." Like you're doing me a favor by having me pay YOU! We said just give us our key back. They did NOT even offer an apology. We wouldn't have stayed if they had offered it for free but they could have at least said sorry or made up an excuse or something.
