The room, facilities and overall gorgeous view were impeccable. We stayed during Memorial Day weekend and booked that night and absolutely loved our stay! We loved bringing our dog and staying on the first floor- which was easily accessible to the beach and sit down area. We loved watching the sunrise and sunset on the property and relaxing in the Adirondack chairs. It was the perfect and much needed vacation with our furry best friend. The views were amazing and we are so grateful to be back in Maine!

Not my hair

This is a nice place to stay -- but I have concerns. My first time staying there I noticed hair on the walls of the shower the next morning, I took a picture and showed the young lady at the front desk and she just said "ok". I really didn't expect her to do anything because you can tell she is not trained to handle complaints. That's cool, simple coaching will help her. I checked in last night, one week later, and was dead tired. I turned on the heat and went right to sleep. Woke up this morning to brush my teeth and BAAM!! Hair in the sink, mind you, I'm bald. I really believe there needs to be some serious spot checking behind the room cleaners. When I come in I spray everything with Lysol and I wipe everything, I wasn't doing the restroom until this morning -- my mistake. My suggestion when checking in, have them change all the linen and make sure you clean and wipe.

Spiderweb and insects

Woof. We stayed in a ground floor room, which did not have carpet, and they clearly don't mop the floors. Our socks immediately turned black and odd bits stuck to them. We started only taking off our shoes to get into bed. When we arrived, there was a spiderweb in the corner with a spider and other insects in it. We left it, considering it better the spider catch things than that they roam free. But I still had to kill a roach on our final morning, so the spider must have been full. Our room remained incredibly humid to the point of dampness unless we set the temperature at 60, which meant shivering in our summer clothes. It had a distinct musty smell. The sheets were clean, but stained. The pillows were lumpy balls of sadness. I cannot fathom how this is a 3 star hotel. Even if our room were clean and roach free, this is barely a step up from a cheap motel. Spare yourself this particular experience.

This little basket on the front desk with positive messages was so cute!

I do business in the area so I've stayed a couple times at the Fireside in Belfast and I'd honestly never go anywhere else! The rooms in the hotel have the most comfortable beds. During these cold winter nights it's great having such a cozy little fireplace. Some rooms even have massage chairs! On the counter at check in they have this cute little basket where you can read a positive saying, and sometimes have little treats like whoopie pies! This summer I was in the area for a while and stayed in their Lawn Cottage. This place was beyond adorable. I had my own little deck with adorandak chairs that I loved to drink my coffee in and over look the ocean. I would 100% recommend to everyone!

I have eaten Lobster at a place called The Lobster Pound South of this establishment and was told by the waitress that the Fireside Inn was owned by the same people. It was a little more expensive than I thought it would be, especially since it is considered off-season, and the leaf peepers had not yet arrived, because the leaves have not really started turning color. The room was comfortable, though it needed a little bit of maintenance because some of the pictures were rehung and they left original holes in the walls. There was also a tiny bit of mold in some of the corners in the bathroom, but other than that it was a nice room and I would go back. The photos were what we saw outside of our room off the balcony, even though it was too chilly to go out.

Good hotel find on Hotels.com. The view from the room is amazing and we just walked right out onto the back lawn. They also have a restaurant on sight so convenient and great food. Nice new wood flooring inside the room. They eventually need to remodel the hallway and elevator with flooring since carpet looks out dated and kinda smells in elevator. Great breakfast with many options for food including gluten free sausage. Nice variety of cereal and pastries. Can sit outside for breakfast and enjoy the view of the river. All hotel staff is very nice and friendly.

I'm giving it a 3 because of the view from our room. The room was clean and they did move is when the air conditioning did not cool our room. That being said, I did not find the staff friendly at all. No smiles no small talk. The breakfast area was small and offered the typical hotel breakfast fare. The elevator had a musty mildew smell. This place needs a facelift, but an okay place for the price.

Room had a fire place and incredible view.

My favorite place to stay in the Belfast area. Between the friendly staff, the convenient location, fridge in each room, and the amazing view of the bay from each room. It's just great. The pool is super unique and some rooms have fire places. This is a great hotel. Also has a restaurant connected to the side wing. The free breakfast is ok and I wish they had a exercise room. But besides those everything is perfect. This is where I recommend friends and fam to stay every time they come up to their area as well.

Advertised as one price and total price was hundreds more. Never recommend. Very outdated and walks are paper thin.

Judy and Ed, the owners, held the door open for us as we approached the entrance. The lobby had beautiful chandeliers and fall decor. We pleasantly chatted about how similar MN and ME are with them as we checked in. We received a pair of actual keys to our room, which was a refreshing escape from electronic this and selfie that. Since we were only in town for a night, we stayed in a double-queen room instead of a full suite. We had our own separate entrance to the room from our own private patio area, which made it feel like we were entering a vacation home. Every detail in the room was luxurious. From the Bose stereo playing jazz, to the fireplace, to the ornate furniture, to THE most comfortable bed and pillows, to the hardwood hallway leading to the large bathroom with light dimmers. In the morning, they set-up a wonderful breakfast in-room for us: spinach-feta frittata, spring salad, fruit salad, blueberry-lemon pound cake, OJ, and coffee. Having to check out and leave really sucked. Additional info: Must book weeks in advance, as they only have 8 rooms. Park in the front to check-in, then you can re-park in the private lot in the back. They are right next to the Co-op and within walking distance of basically everything in town!

There is a complimentary breakfast every morning that includes quiche, in-house baked croissants, and cinnamon rolls! There is coffee and tea available all-day There is an indoor pool PERFECT for exercise and a big hot tub surrounded by big windows also overlooking the ocean. The little things that may be tiny irritants lol...We paid extra to get a king bed instead of two queens. The halls are incredibly brightly lit so if you are sensitive to lights be forewarned. The bed slanted downward toward the headrest wooohooo. The towels are made for tiny people & I am pretty small. The halls & walls play off of any sound so you hear a lot. Aside from the little nuances that didn't really bother us the room & bathroom were spotless with a bed, TV, siting area with a couch, little counter with coffee maker & mini fridge, everything you could need in the bathroom, and a lovely view of the harbor. Breakfast was delicious with excellent coffee, homemade quiches, muffins & scones & you could sit Al fresco & enjoy the morning fog on the water. A decent little place in a decent little town.

The floor slopes a bit in this cabin but it made no difference to our comfort. It has a nice comfy bed and the large bathroom has a walk-in shower. The beach is wonderful with great views. It's not a Hilton resort and that was perfect for us It's a nice, laidback comfy place to stay with nice people working there. It's very reasonably priced and it's located in a less touristy area within easy driving distance of Acadia and most coastal towns. 10/10 we'd happily stay again!

We stayed in cabin #42 which was beachfront and directly across from the shuffleboard play area, the fire pit, and playground. This cabin was in a good location on the property for accessing those amenities and enjoying the view from inside or from the large porch. The cabin itself is so cute inside at an initial walk through and we just loved it. The air conditioner was on when we went in which we appreciated because sometimes hotel rooms can be stuffy at check in. The check in process was pretty quick and easy. I booked via phone and was not told until I arrived that they have a one pet policy. This was also not listed on their website. They prefer pets not be on the furniture, but have no way of enforcing it which we found out the hard way... The comforter on the bed had clearly been peed on by someone's pet at some point as it had a big yellow spot when we removed it (we never keep comforters on in hotels because we don't know how often they're cleaned). The sheets and other blanket seemed clean and didn't have any scent - urine nor laundry. We quickly discovered the building is slanted which made for a strange and almost disorienting experience walking around. At 5 minutes past posted checkout time, they rang the room repeatedly to tell us to leave even though I asked for late check out (30 additional minutes) since I had a work call scheduled. The room, aside from the comforter, was clean and the space was charming. The view can't be beat and the price was really good for the location. I probably would've considered staying here again, but I have 2 dogs.
