We also had a cheap shoe rack that got bent up and had to be thrown away and we still can't find some of our cords and remotes, so we ended up purchasing replacements for those things. I called them and he said he would try to get his guys back out here to fix it. He never called back and left me hanging. I had to call a piano repair person to come here and fix the problem. He knew exactly what was wrong after telling him I had movers move the piano. The repair guy said they should have checked it to make sure it was all good before leaving, because when you turn a piano upright to move it the bar inside the piano that controls sustain will fall out of place and they should have known better. So, to sum up, the owner of Brazos movers should have told me his movers did not know squat about pianos, a $650 charge + tip. Then, he did not call me back to let me know his guys were coming the next few days to fix it. He just blew me off. Why? The movers don't know anything about fixing a piano if they break it. I was a…read morerepeat customer of this moving company and am extremely disappointed with how our recent move was handled. The movers themselves were very kind and clearly doing their best. This review is not directed at them. The issue was poor management and lack of proper staffing for the job. During booking, I specifically explained that we had an extremely large and heavy dresser weighing several hundred pounds and was assured that a two-person crew would be enough. It quickly became obvious during the move that the workers were exhausted and overwhelmed, so I requested a third mover be added midway through. At one point, I asked management not to pressure or disrupt the movers because they were already stressed and trying their best. Instead, management immediately called them during the move, which noticeably increased the pressure and caused them to begin rushing. Shortly afterward, our brand new wooden floors were scratched and our $1,400 dog crate was broken. I understand accidents can happen, but this situation felt avoidable and directly related to poor management decisions and improper staffing. The entire experience became extremely uncomfortable and stressful for everyone involved. Again, the movers themselves were polite and hardworking, but because of the damages to our home and belongings, I cannot say the experience was worth the cost or that I would use this company again.

Both times, they gave me a reasonable and detailed estimate, and they completed the work just slightly under the estimate. The crew was strong and efficient. They wrapped the items very well to prevent damage. I was particularly concerned about a glass China cabinet, and they handled it carefully. I plan to use King again, after I sell my house. We had put a deposit of thousands down with the company, and they were 48 hours away from pickup, and our final price had gone from $5,000 something to $,7000, then up to $17,000! And to make matters worse, WE were being blamed for it! The company had not listed many of our items and then when they went over the list they increased our items to drive the price up. We tried to fight with them to correct things, and then they started to bring the price down, but no where near where it was in the beginning of the move. We had to be out of our house by a certain date so we scheduled a U-Haul to move our things, and cancelled our reservation with New Start. Unfortunately, we are out thousands of dollars from our deposit and they are refusing to give our deposit back. This company is awful and we would never recommend them to anyone.

Upon arriving to the new house the couch would not fit into the house so after many tries and much damage to my couch they decided to move it to my garage where it was left until I could hire someone else to move it into the house. It cost me almost 200 for furniture repair and to move my couch from my garage into my house but because my couch was not packed properly they disputed the damage and charges.
