Today was my second time visiting firehouse subs and my first time visiting this Thompson Lane establishment. Needless to say, I was pretty satisfied overall! I got the medium Italian sub on wheat. It included salami, pepperoni, ham, provolone, tomatoes, lettuce and onions. I love my veggies so I decided to go ahead and add some banana peppers, olives, cucumbers, and jalapeños. The taste of the sub was great and exactly what I had expected. I had a busy day at work and had skipped lunch. This medium sub filled me right! The ingredients in the sandwich tasted very fresh! It was a great standard Italian sub. The only two things I was disappointed about was that after I brought the sandwich home I realized they left out the cucumber. The pickle also had a strange oil or gas smell to it. Other than that, I would definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for your typical fast food sub fix. This my first review I been coming to firehouse for a good while today I had a mix reaction the young man isaiah a wonderful guy he took my order broke down the order and made it hot and fresh on top of other people orders very kind and respectful . I didn't like how it was just him , the young lady and other guy was bullshitting and using strong language . I never heard a young lady call another person a dick head them two have no respect for customer service or people in general . After they was told to stop the playing keep on. I go to this location because it is convenient. I think today I decided I would not go back. The people are all businesslike, but the sandwich is overpriced as are the side items. I know they do it for efficiency, but it really drives me crazy that Call-in orders and online orders. Get preference over people that walk in the door. I started doing all of my orders online and there is still a wait after the time they say the food will be ready. I am a fan!!! We wanted a good sub so we headed to "Firehouse" Subs on Thompson Lane. We opted to get two separate subs and to try something new..We usually get the Hook and Ladder or the Italian..but tonight we opted for the "New York Steamer Sub" : Corned Beef Brisket, Pastrami, melted Provolone, mustard, mayo and Italian dressing..we had them Fully involved to include Jalapeno, lettuce, tomato and onions...we got the 8" sub for $5.89 and we also got the " Firehouse Hero Sub" : Premium Roast Beef, Smoked Turkey Breast, Virginia Honey Ham, melted Provolone, served fully involved with onions, tomato, lettuce, mayo, mustard, italian dressing and Jalapeno peppers.. both were very good...but we both said that the Firehouse Hero was our favorite of the two tonight.. what is your favorites? read more

Sandwiches were fast and spot on. Restaurant and restrooms were clean. Employees were friendly. There was a young African American man working this afternoon (1pm on 11/27), I didn't catch his name but he was doing a great job keeping the machines clean, greeting the customers, checking to make sure our food was good. Despite the fact this place is a chain, it has won me over rather quickly. My "go-to" is their smoked turkey and provolone hot sub, since it reminds me of a local deli sub I used to eat on the reg in college. Yum! The medium is more than enough for me. A large sub would just be ridiculous. My fave kettle chips are offered here too - WIN! The futuristic Coke machine is highly entertaining with over 200 flavored drinks offered. #fancy This location is crazy busy during lunch rush, so it's ultra convenient to order ahead online and pick up 20ish minutes later. Only once was my order not ready, and when I arrived, the staff was less than friendly. All other encounters with this approach have been flawless. Considering how busy this location gets at lunchtime, I have to admit they did turn my order around pretty quickly. I'm a big fan of Firehouse Subs overall and the sub (The Fully Involved Italian) did not disappoint Having said that, however there are a few things working against this Firehouse: First, the parking is absurd. It shares with several business and at least one of them has an angry sign telling you not to park there for Firehouse. It's not a big lot either, so it is not easy to find a spot. Second, the woman who took my order looked at me, and everyone else exactly like she'd be much happier if we all went to some other location for lunch. I don't expect to be greeted like I'm the greatest customer of all time, but looking like you wish I was dead is a big turnoff. read more

Summary: Of the fast food sub places, this place smokes everyone else. Sometimes, you just need a good sandwich. I've made that statement many times over my 47 years of life. When I need that sandwich, and I'm not home in Philadelphia to get a cheesesteak, I go to Firehouse Subs. Why? These are real sandwiches. Not that so called "sub" from that the place that puts sub in their name. My go to is the BBQ Steak and Cheddar which is freaking delicious. But you can't really go wrong with the other subs which have real quality meats. The fact they're heated just adds to the quality. I love eating at Firehouse subs; just not this location. There were three gals behind the cashier and not one of them acknowledged me! My wife and I stood there for a few seconds before I went and said, "Hi. Can I place an order?" Sorry to bring your review score down FH Subs on Thompson, but dude, the service was deplorable. I think they were bugged at some lady who was before me, but c'mon dudettes, let it go. Don't take it out on the rest of us. When my order was finally taken, it was as if I was bothering them just speaking to them. At one point I began to wonder if they were being robbed and the assailant was hiding in the kitchen. They all seemed so morose. Food was great, though. Better than Subway, waaay better than Jersey Mikes. That's where the one star comes from. Minus four stars for the service. The guy who made my sandwich was nice, soooo, okay, one more star. But that's it. Well, I did notice they treated the guy after me with the same contempt. So let's go back down to one star. The base sub of Firehouse is good. There's not too much that sets the sandwiches apart from the other sub shops I've been to (keeping in mind I am a veggie). However, the two things that do pop out and make you wonder why this isn't sub-store-standard is the metric ton of condiments. If you're a condiment whore, this is the *only* sub shop for you. Especially if you like actually spicy condiments. They have about 80 different sauces up there, if I'm remembering correctly, that you can grab and sprinkle to taste on your sandwich. They have a mix-your-own-Coke machine, in which you can create many different flavors of beverage off of a touchscreen. When I looked up that machine, it appeared there were only 3 within a 25 mile radius, Eh, I'm a sucker for gadgets that make flavors of yum. I would probably be a fan if not for an exchange with an employee that left me uncertain whether I had been insulted or if he was not understanding the question or if he was just high and that's why it required 3 people to get the wrong answer. I've just checked out the new Firehouse Subs in my neighborhood. I can't decide what my final opinion is. The decor is cute and prices are reasonable as compared to the nearby Jersey Mikes - which is a regular stop for me. My husband had a cheddar/brisket sub with bbq sauce. It tasted WONDERFUL but the meat portion was far too small. I had the chicken salad sub which was only okay taste-wise. It was bland, but the meat portion was really generous. I can say that I really did like the texture of the whole-wheat bread. I will definitely try Firehouse again and report back. I see on their menu that they specialize in Cherry Limeade like Sonic (love!). Somehow I missed this, but I will be trying that next time fo' sho'. read more

It's SUB TIME again! This particular day took me over to the Berry Hill area. My sub sensors zeroed in on Firehouse Subs as a lunch stop and an opportunity to appraise another sub machine shop!. Well, from my point of entry, the staff smiled and greeted me, despite their obvious focus on preparing sandwiches. (Score #1.) Fun decor with a great soda fountain and reasonable table layout. They permitted me a minute to focus on the menu (Score #2) - which offered multiple enticing and commonsense selections and combinations, They offered good insight and suggestions on the sandwich choices, without over selling (Score #3). I selected The Engineer Sub® (smoked turkey, melted Swiss and sauteéd mushrooms). Good choice of fresh breads, too. I was able to directly observe their preparation and steaming of my sandwich. Refreshingly, I didn't have the uneasy feeling that I get when watching my Subway sandwich being thrown together...nice! (Score #4). I was also pleased at the numerous choices of sauces, ranging from mild to "Shut the Front Door, that's HOT!" I sampled several and all were very good (Score #5). Finally, the noise level in the place was not unbearable, making the dine-in experience pleasant. I did not feel in a hurry to get outta there (Score #6). This restaurant has the worst customer service. I have never been to a Firehouse subs. A coworker ordered online and asked me to pick it up. I again had never been there or ordered online. When I walked in the door I saw a sign for "to go" orders so I went there. I waited several minutes and no one greeted me so I waved my hand and said hello to get someones attention. An employee looked up and walked over like I was annoying him. I explained I was there for an online order. He pointed to the bag and rolled his eyes and said its right there. I said is that everything he said yes. I grabbed the bag and began to walk out when another man said "HEY HEY HEY you need to sign the receipt". I said OK and signed it. I walked out and drove back to the office. When I get there my coworker noticed that chips and cookies were not in the bag. I called the store to tell them and they said you were supposed to grab them. I told him I asked if the bag I had was everything and you said yes. He replied yes that was all your sandwiches. You are supposed to pick them out yourself. I said why dint you tell me that when I asked if this was everything? He said you should have known. I said I wouldn't know cause I am a new customer. He repeats to me several times that everyone knows and I should have known. When I get back to the store I ask where do I get the chips and cookies and he point to the rack and says over there. I say OK what do I put them in? He huffs and turns around and grabs a bag and flings it at me. I gather my chips and cookies and leave. Just know, I will never eat at a Firehouse Subs again. I called corporate and they are informing the owner (which by the way manager refused to give me contact information for). The food was even that great. I only ate it because work paid for it and by now I was starving from driving around for over an hour back and forth to their location. Why would you schedule service on your drink machine at 5:00 in the afternoon? And the employee sells you one anyway. Then, when you ask for your money back, they refund the drink and the chips but not the sandwich. Act surprised that you don't want to eat it dry. read more

Hello again yelpers! I find it hard to believe that I've not reviewed Firehouse subs before. It's absolutely THE best place for hot sub sandwiches. My personal favourite is the Firehouse Meatball because it's got a great flavour and is, without fail, always hot and fresh. I should give it a 5-star rating but I don't pass those out easily unless a place really hits home and does a fantastic job. Another great thing about Firehouse is that it has really fast service 9 times out of 10 (barring any busy hours). I also really like the wide variety of sodas because they have the Coke Freestyle machine which, surprisingly, offers Pepsi products as well. At any rate, I digress. This place was great, hot, fresh, fast, and fairly convenient and my only wish is that there was one closer to my house but still, taking a trip out that way is worth it. Worst Italian Submarine Sandwich i have ever purchased! The young attendant did not know if Firehouse had Italian bread??? i ordered a sub with extra Genoa salami, olive oil and onions. She pulled out a package with previously prepared meats, sliced it open and placed it on a whole wheat bun! . There was no Genoa salami there. The ham meat had little or no taste. I came in to grab a sandwich and felt kind of awkward ordering, since the cashier had no desire to serve me, and I was the one providing him with courteousness. I ordered "medium turkey sandwich on wheat, with hot peppers, green peppers, olives, and cucumbers." I got a medium turkey sandwich on wheat with hot peppers, green peppers, olives, cucumbers, and also cheese, onions, mayo, and tomato. I was too hungry to wait for another sandwich, so I ate it anyway and picked off some of the toppings I hadn't ordered, and it was a good sandwich regardless of the fact it wasn't what I wanted. While I was eating, a couple ordered a Club on a Sub and an Italian without mayo. Both of their sandwiches got messed up. I understand if maybe you put one ingredient on accident or leave one out, but to mess up my custom sandwich so much and then also two signature sandwiches is pretty bad. Moral of the story: come here for a tasty sandwich, but don't expect it to be the sandwich you ordered. I'll come back to Firehouse Subs, but just not this location. read more

I got the club, and it was really good. The bread is fresh, the meat is tasty and is more like deli meat than Subway type meat. If you are looking for a good sub, this is a great spot. Also, they have the best hot sauce collection in Nashville. I would say there are 40 different types of hot sauce from all over the country, and at least 10 from Nashville that I have never heard of. read more

Firehouse subs is simply astounding. The bread is phenomenal, the toppings including the meats and cheeses are out of this world. They have an amazing amount of sauces to choose from, mostly hot sauces, and since I am a hot sauce fanatic this place is basically heaven. Also this is one of the few stores that has the Coca-Cola Freestyle fountain drinks and it is a blast! So many different flavors to choose from, just a word of advice, don't go for Vanilla Sprite. read more

Customer service at this location is AWFUL. I ordered the Spicy Cajun Chicken Sandwich online and wanted it on wheat bread but did not see the option online. I kindly asked if I could have a wheat bun when I got there to pick the food up and was told by the general manager, Coleton that he wouldn't just give me a bun and said I would have to pay for it. Coleton was extremely rude about this whole situation and I didn't realize until later after looking at the receipt that I wasn't even charged for a wheat bun, but instead I was charged for brownies. I ended up paying way more than I should have and the sandwich was not even good. I will NEVER be eating here again. Will gladly take my money to Jersey Mikes or anywhere else but here. read more

Sweet & hot Captain Sorensen's Datil Pepper Sauce is not 4-alarm hot but still gave a good burn to my Hook & Ladder sub. It complimented the turkey and ham. Hank Williams Jr. Family Tradition hot sauce was another among the many bottled sauces available to add to sandwich meats. I wasn't surprised its decorated inside with a firehouse decor. It fits. We weren't greeted,stood by the cash register to only be looked at and still not helped. I had to speak up for my order to be taken and the workers had an attitude.
