I was very disappointed with my last visit. I ordered the bbq Cuban sandwich. I've ordered this the last few visits. There was hardly any meat on the sandwich! It was at least half the meat from previous sandwiches. I like the sandwich and this shop. Hopefully this was a fluke. I don't see myself ordering this sandwich again. I just had another very disappointing visit!! I just gave them another chance and ordered the hook & ladder. AGAIN... HARDLY ANY MEAT... pictured below. Are they trying to copy Chipotle?? If I go back, it will be for the meatball sandwich. They are consistent with those. I used to LOVE this place. The last 2 visits have really skimped on the meat! Well today per recommendation from online I got two of their orders. The first one was The New York steamer and the second item was the Italian salad with grilled chicken. I got the steamer with everything on it ...I only photographed half of it, because it actually looked better in the photograph. Unfortunately when I picked it up it was full of all the condiments and it fell apart in my hand. I ended up using a fork to eat it but it was a nice tasty...Though a sloppy sandwich! As far as the Italian salad with grilled chicken it was pretty good. I did think that they could've given me more than just 2 ounces of the Italian dressing. Considering the size of the salad more would've been better. You can see this in the photograph. Plus from the looks of it you can see I got more of the white portion of the lettuce than the green portion of the lettuce. But that's the way things go... Overall I was pretty much satisfied with my meal. Just a couple years ago spending $12 on a salad would've been unthinkable! I ordered through GrubHub it took approximately 40 minutes from ordering to the driver showing up at my door. She was courteous and professional. read more

I was greeted enthusiastically as soon as I walked in, order was taken promptly, received my food quickly and it was yummy. This was headed straight for 4-star review but I can't give one. For two major reasons that, actually sadden me a bit. Let me explain. I love Firehouse subs, they in fact have distinctly delicious subs, actually I'll be frank it's mainly the BBQ cheddar brisket sub. It's the one I get 99% of the time. The bread is always super fluffy and fresh and the brisket, cheddar and bbq combo is downright yummy, I can't recall another chain brisket sub that even comes close. Hits the spot every time. The problem is A) the price and B) the portion These are key to becoming competitive these days. A sub (medium) of that amazingly smokey and tangy brisket rings up at around $8. For that price I should be full, but this sub is not filling. There needs to be more meat, or other ingredients. With places like Panera offering soup and bread, 1/2 sandwich and fruit for $9 how will they compete? For now it will be a once in a while type place, but not because it's not yummy, it's definitely delicious in the sub dept, just needs more in the portion dept or a reduction in the price dept. Bad attuites, terrible customer relations: I went to grab a sandwich and placed my order, it came to $9.15 and in small bills with change i had $9.14. The girl just stood there, I said I would go to by vehicle and get a penny(ok ) was all that was said. I wanst looking to beat any body out of a penny, I only had large bills which they do not accept. I was going to charge but I was dumbfounded by the lack of business sense, so I said never mind and left. This is a great sub place and I just recently found out that they have soup too! Their soup was the chicken dumpling and it had the perfect shredded chicken in it, just as described. They always put their subs together so nicely, even though I always get so many toppings. Their sliced turkey is so delicious every time! I also love how they give you the option of a side pickle! There's something about those pickles that I love! Hahah and of course they support firefighters, so it doesn't get any better than that! Thank you! read more

Heard some kids when I went into the store to pick up my order talking about how this location and the college store location in fort myers are using nasty meat and cheeses that have been in the cooler since before the hurricane, definitely illegal and will be talking to corporate and reporting both managers at both locations about rotted meat and cheese, I was wondering why my stomach was feeling terrible two bites into my sandwich. Mind you the power went out so everything was spoiled by the time they reopened on Santa Barbara. Plus I heard they have maggots in the back near their cleaning supplies. I created an account just to leave a terrible review for this location. I ordered through Uber eats, so delivery isn't their fault... but packaging of food is and they didn't pack half of the meal for us. I contacted and disputed through Uber eats but also called the store directly. They informed me there was nothing they could do to get us the missing drinks and/or the food items they forgot and didn't even seem interested in trying to make it right. With one person in line, why should it take 17 minutes for a sub to come out with five workers? It's close to home so I'll swing by, but only when I'm not in a hurry. Tastes great, always still hot when delivered, good quality meat, fresh veggies, always awesome. Have had delivery from this location 3 times - always glad I did. My favorite thing about this place is the sustainable, recyclable, paper, Florida waterways friendly packaging. THANK YOU for not using styrofoam and plastic garbage to transport one meal!! Suggestion - please evolve to West Coast normal and don't give out plastic cutlery, napkins, straws or packets unless people SPECIFICALLY ask for them - it creates unnecessary waste in our landfills and waterways! This was a very pleasant surprise. I was in the area and decided my waist could not afford my usual Five Guys, so tried this. I asked for an Italian with a change of meat, much to my surprise I got a "no problem". Such places usually give a "no substitutions" or just a blank stare. They helped me through the other aspects of it (spices, cheese they usually use, etc.). The sandwich was plentiful and really, really good. MUCH more meat than Subway (my usual go-to). I have been back twice now, and each time they are friendly, quick, and helpful. One time they gave me a tour of their spice rack (with numbered hot sauces). Another when I went back for an extra bag of chips, they just offered it to me on the house. Each sandwich has been thick with meat, hot and very tasty. They lack the bread variety of Subway, but their meet tastes better and is far more plentiful. I do wish they had more choices of topings (e.g. green peppers, onions, etc.), but the subs are really good, and offer a nice alternative. Which I had discovered them sooner. On top of that, the staff has been by far the nicest and most competent of any fast food place locally (and I'm way too much a denizen of fast food joints). read more

The Bread sucks, I don't know any other way to put it, bread to tuna ratio was 3:1, the bread, I'm thinking may of been sitting out for a few hours. Tuna was ok, a little fishy for my taste, a little lemon would of cleaned it up. If you're going to give cheese on a sub, please give us more then a paper thin non detectable slice of provolone. I've been visiting this restaurant for many years and never had a problem till today! We simply asked for a sub to be steamed twice for my wife who is pregnant. I picked up my order and her sub was cold! I asked kindly to resteamed and the guy who appeared to be in charged gave me an attitude. He stated that he had steamed it twice and how I should have asked to triple steamed. This conversation took place in front of a full lobby of customers. This attitude is not professional , not a good look for your restaurant. I wasn't going to engage in an argument when all I asked was for them to re steam my sandwich. I will not be visiting this restaurant again or ever. After the incident they were secretly talking behind the counter as if my simple request was the end of the world for them.
