Over the years I've visited several Firehouse Subs and during my visits they're rarely busy during lunch. The location in Bartow is the one exception. During the week I stopped in twice during various times and each time they were busy. At this location the food is good but the service seemed a bit slow. The owner/manager is eager to take your money but between ordering and serving there is a breakdown. I'm not sure if new employees were on the line working, but my 4" Hook and Ladder shouldn't take 20 minutes to make. Although I was a bit disappointed, as you can see, I went back a second time. I love Firehouse! So happy to hear they've got a new location in Bartow! Actually, we didn't even know it was a new location until after we'd gotten our food. A fella working there happened to check on us, made a little small talk and mentioned they've only been open three days. Cool! So, my husband got the club; full of meat and toppings and the bread (wheat) was soft and not a bit dry! I got the Italian (no cheese, no mayo); it was SO good! Typically, I have banana peppers added and I did ask but I think they forgot them. It's ok though; it's still a tasty sandwich. I got a side of chips because, listen up!! They have FUNYUNS!!! Whoa!! Kid got the grilled cheese kids meal. The sandwich was devoured so that's a great sign, but as an adult looking at it, it's just a single slice of cheese, barely melted. This was the first time ordering from here. I ordered online. This was the first place that actually had my food ready on time and in the right spot to be picked up. I ordered the beef and cheese. It was the best I have ever tasted. I am from Philly, so I have had a lot of cheese steaks. This place, by far, is the best. I can't believe it's basically been in my backyard and didn't know it. I have ordered three times in the last two months I am a firehouse fan but every time I get a sandwich my order is soaking wet soggy as can be and wrong. My first order was completely the wrong order the second was right but I asked for no Italian dressing and it was soaked then today no pickle and ordered without Italian dressing and I had to use a fork to eat parts of it as it was so soggy. Food was good. What I didn't appreciate was asking for one sandwich. Paying. Then being handed two sandwich's. Both of which I was charged for. I guess it's my fault for not checking the receipt. $17 for two child sized subs and two tiny CUPS of soup. What a RIPOFF. You can get a whole lot more for a WHOLE lot less ANYWHERE else and even get a drink with it. A complete and total RIPOFF. I came in to the Bartow location for my birthday. I looked online and they said all you had to do was show up with your ID showing that the day was your birthday and you would get a medium Sub of your choice what I want to do that I was told no I had to go and sign up we tried to show them that it was incorrect that I line is that all you had to show with your identification they refused to serve us we will not be going back to this location it'll make sure to put on every social media site how we were treated horribly I will not be going back to any Firehouse Subs thank you for the disrespect read more
