I got the #1 Italian; it was a good sandwich - great bread and all of the components go well together. The pickle was good touch too. I will say while it is a very photogenic sandwich, it is not quite as loaded from end to end as the center cut is. Still a lot of meat and filling, though. Great local spot. Would recommend if you're looking for a good local deli or mini market.

I was pleased to see they sell "mini bagels" which is actually a sufficient amount of food for me personally. I came for breakfast with some fellow Mom friends and some of them had to ask for boxes to pack up their leftovers from their normal, large sized bagels. The bagels have the right taste and texture for a NY bagel. Ambiance wise, it felt like a NY bagel deli on the fancier side (cause let's face it, good bagel shops in NY are never this big!) The only thing my 7yo son could ask for that they didn't have was rainbow bagels. When I told him they didn't have any, his response was "what?? Why not?! Isn't this a NY bagel place?" (He settled just fine with an Everything Bagel and promptly devoured the entire thing) So yes, that would be an amazing addition to the menu but clearly a big ask!

We finally made our first trip to the Hilltop location…read more We hail from DC, so we were surprised we learned about Call Your Mother after moving to Denver. Thank goodness we did! Their bagels are inspired by both New York and Montreal styles, giving them a perfectly chewy texture with just a hint of sweetness. They're fantastic on their own, but they really shine as the foundation for these breakfast sandwiches. I ordered the Thunderbird, and as someone who normally avoids both salt & pepper bagels (I know...weird) and sweet-and-savory combinations, I wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out I was completely wrong. The maple chicken sausage, fluffy bodega-style eggs, melty American and cheddar, spicy honey, and maple salt & pepper bagel somehow create the perfect balance. Nothing overpowers anything else, and every bite just works. My friend had the Pastrami Sun City, which was equally outstanding. The pastrami was tender and flavorful, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the spicy honey added just the right amount of sweetness without stealing the show. We also ordered the latkes, served with both sour cream and applesauce. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and exactly what you want from a great potato pancake. Being able to switch between the tang of the sour cream and the sweetness of the applesauce made them even better. And don't leave without grabbing a Chocolate Babka Muffin. It has that rich chocolate swirl you'd expect from babka with a crunchy, sugary exterior that's impossible to resist. The colorful, upbeat atmosphere matches the food, and it's clear this place has developed its own identity instead of trying to imitate a traditional deli. That's refreshing. Service is friendly and quick. We saw several people picking up ordrs to go as well. For a first visit, this was a home run. We'll absolutely be back - and next time we're diving into more of the bagels and schmears. Denver is lucky to have a spot like this.
