Amazing evening with close friends in Pinehurst tonight. The main dining room was filled with…read moregolfers, families & cute babes who stole every show! The room was down right cold when we were seated - almost expected with all seats occupied. HVA/C was corrected as the parties departed. Our 4 top was the last to leave. Now onto our service - she was amazingly polite as she recognized we had not seen each other in nearly a year. Lots of news about our families, mutual friends and a few interesting neighborhood characters. Wine selections matched everyone's entree choice. Their French Onion soup was simply to die for, followed by a selection that ranged from a simple Fish & Chips, a crisp Cobb Salad, a flaky Chicken Pot Pie & aromatic Beef Bourguignon. All this was topped off with a warm double chocolate brownie smothered with a creamy French vanilla ice cream - thankfully the server figured correctly as she delivered this sumptuous treat with 4 spoons

Be careful and review their pricing before staying at this resort…read more Ask them for a complete pricing total including and extra fees. I was hit for an extra $1,000 resort fee (MAP/Social) for a 4 night stay. They never mentioned this MAP/Social fee in the reservation process or listed on my confirmation under "Stay Total". Only far later in the confirmation do they show the "MAP/Social" fee and taxes. My fault for not asking or looking for all of the extra fees they charge. My cost (one person) in May 2026 for a standard room 4 nights (breakfast &dinner) and 8 rounds of golf was $6,800. The resort is very nice. The employees, food and service was very good.

This is a premium golf experience in the US…read more I recently turned 69 and my two Sons and some friends took this trip the first week in October. The 12 of us stayed at the resort and played #2, #4 and the Cradle. With #2 you're required to pay an on-site caddie and then you tip afterwards. The caddie will carry two bags and they must be under 25 pounds. They are very focused on pace of play and they tell you at the beginning of your round that if you fall behind you may be asked to skip a hole. This is the quintessential Donald Ross design. It's very straight forward and everything is right in front of you for the most part. No severe dog legs, no water and virtually no out of bounds. The sand and grass are called Waste Areas and you are allowed to ground your club, take practice swings, lift clean and place. The Waste Areas are the borders of the fairway so even if you're off the fairway you still have a shot. There are a few areas where the pine trees are so thick you'll be penalized. It's very tough to get steady footing if you're in the pine straw. I was pleasantly surprised that the Par 3's are all accessible. There are a few holes where there is elevated green which robs you from seeing your ball go in the hole if you're close in to the green when you make and up and down. These greens are lightning fast and there are NO flat areas. All the greens are crowned so when you are playing for the first time, you will be challenged for strategic shot placement on the green. My highlight was a hole out on #14 from about 40 yards away but I never saw it go in so that was very disappointing. The 4 some in front of us was on the 15th tee which is just adjacent to the green so I got an ovation so I had that going for me. Our Caddie was a guy named Chris who said he was 70. He was in great shape and carried two bags with no problems. He told me at the beginning of the round 'you will only need three or four balls. He was right, I didn't lose a single ball. We got in 26,000 steps which is about 13 miles and what an experience it was.

Beacon Ridge Golf & Country Club - Throw a party at Beacon Ridge! They have great rates and an amazing facility

It has been my distinct displeasure to visit and play a round of golf at Beacon Ridge Golf Course…read morein West End, NC. First off, the facilities are a disaster! I can't understand why a facility as nice as the Beacon Ridge clubhouse appears would be closed and allowed to rot. Paint is peeling off the building everywhere; there is evidence of wood rot; the pro shop has a subtle, moldy aroma; and it is also in disrepair. The golf course is in almost terrible shape; the greens are full of weeds, the bunkers are unkept, the fairways, where there is grass, are not mowed properly, and where the grass isn't mowed, weeds are growing freely. The cart paths are like an E ticket ride, bumpy and full of potholes. The golf course layout isn't too bad if you like hitting to greens that sit above the fairway; you can see the pin, but not the green, on several holes. The positive note is that the golf carts are in good shape, despite needing brake adjustments, and the pro shop staff is very friendly and helpful. All in all, the golf course should pay you to play here. It is in horrific shape and getting worse. I feel sorry for the people in West End who have to live with this in the neighborhood. This owner should consider selling this property to someone who would and will take care of it the way it should be kept. It's a real shame
